Whoa, there's like all sorts of creatures in this series. Solid action of fiery and burns.

Nice to see more of the Red Dragon making its on screen appearance. Otherwise, I think the story still needs a bit of development. However, characterization is nice so far. We find out more about Eiha and her past. I think this show will focus a lot on them over the time; if it's 2 cour... Nvm, 1 cour confirmed.

Option 1: Adapt fewer volumes.

Option 2: Rush it.

Eeh, that's not quite hard.
here's a few ways:
1. just take the main point of the story in every chapter in a volume
2. just adapt till the first/second arc
if both can't fulfill that condition, then there's a possibility for second season.
----------------------------
well well, Silver Link. I don't know if that's a great idea or dumb to reuse animation to put into the OP, and add some After-Effect.

anyway, I don't really enjoy this show, basically because of how rush this show is.

Much better episode than the first one, and wasn't as confusing. Although the chain of events was graspable, it felt pretty fast paced. I guess one cour isn't really suitable for a plot like this. Even without reading the original source, I can feel the LN being butchered like hell.

The Red Dragon is one vile and greedy being. So each time Ibuki wants to use his power, he has to sacrifice someone close to him, which I find very ridiculous. This makes the death scenes all the more laughable, even though Chenfa pretty much pushed Kai into it.

Admittedly, the fights were well done. Such a shame they're way too short. Black Dragon Knight Sweallow put on quite the show. Ibuki's one-shot kill wasn't was exciting though.

Average episode. Next comes the Red Dragon Expedition, which I hope will improve the show, even if a little.

I am bit conflicted with the sacrificing a friend to get power... I mean, at some point he most likely will run out of friends to sacrifice and "protect", so what is really the point.......

I dont like the whole 'kill someone close/dear to you for power' thing and especially not how they mark one out at the endcard. On the other hand it has something cool.

Looks like Ibuki is gonna go through an emotional rollercoaster.

MC is still pissing me off but I like secondary cast and action here

BTW. I really liked the OP song in the PVs but the ED came out to be even better (because of visuals maybe or I just delighted to here Maaya Uchida and Miyuki Sawashiro singing together).

Just gonna say action was kinda good. And the OP and ED song was also good. I might get it's full version or it's music video.
And fuck it! Mashiro was a shrine maiden and she knows that she's a sacrifice for the "Child of Contract?!! Which is Ibuki?
It's really a stupid/ingenious scheme just like Chenfa Lou said! And it's totally wrong!!!
And I just saw Ibuki and Kai was voice by females! What a fucking gender benders!! Can't really trust Japan any more!!!

EXCAAAAALIBUR!

Much better than first episode. It's good to see more scenes with Nasu and Urobuchi characters (for now they are most interesting).
I just hope that this doesn't change into something with random encounters against random enemies.

I actually like this episode. At least it wasn't that confusing unlike the first episode.

Though I am not a fan of how to use the Red Dragon's power though I guess if you want power, you always in the end have to sacrifice someone in the end...

But I do like the OP (and the song is really good).

Lol, this basically sums it up for me.

Not a fan of having to kill someone close to you just so you could use that power each time. ugh.

I like the ED - probably moreso the visuals than the actual song - though of course I do like the song as well.

Just finished this episode. I don't like it. The art style is sort of making the characters look quite ridiculous, while the "sacrifice" part is clearly trying to make the story a dark fantasy. This is ruining the atmosphere for me.
Also, even if the point of the story is to kill at least one friend each episode, we didn't see much of the characters yet, so they have little impact or none at all. (I personally disliked Kai, he was an idiot.)

At the moment it's as if the only good point the anime has is the Soundtrack here and there as well as the OP and ED. I will still watch it, because it has some potential. Maybe it will get better as the next "sacrifices" get more screen time? Also, that last screen before the ending at each episode kinda spoils who will die in the show, so you can't even hope for any of them there to survive.
Speaking of which, has anyone else noticed how there are eleven people (if you count the beast and Eiha as only one) at the screen and there will be twelve episodes?

A lot stronger episode than the first one(which was mostly okay episode). They managed to do quite a bit of worldbuilding and set up the motivation for MC to partake in the expedition, at the same time introducing the rest of cast, including some of Swallow's badassery, as well as explaining(and hinting at) various powers and character motivations, as well as things going on behind the scene.

The fighting was also more silverlink-ish than in the first episode and overall I feel those two episodes could have benefited from being aired at the same time since it feels more like two parts of one introductory portion of the show.

The OP is freaking awesome(possibly second favorite, first being Rokka no Yuusha's and third being Ranpo Kitan's). What surprised me tho was the ending which was just as awesome, which is unusual for me since I usually don't really like the ending songs or videos in anime. IF silverlink manages to keep this quality for Prillya opening next when Herz starts I will be more than happy.

The OST also continues to be unique and quite unusual as expected of this composer. Will certainly get the soundtrack when and if it is released.

4/5 for now and I am expecting it to continue to grow better. Certainly hope they don't drop the ball on the latter parts of the story when shit gets REALLy crazy.

Not really encouraging people to watch because of the need to kill every time he uses the power. And the ending part shows the person who died and who will be killed. :(

Well, feels rushed as hell, and I would be fine with the "sacrifice for power" aspect, except the MC feels fucking useless otherwise. He'll sit there and cry about protecting people without doing shit. We can expect that with each big bad guy that needs to be razed, we'll get a death-scene and a speech before a big flame and a one-shot. Pity, really. The first episode wasn't too good, but it had potential. This episode is sort of solidifying this show as not being too good at all.
The others characters piqued my interest, especially the female from Kouran that I'm guessing will be that character who is with the good guys without being good herself.
OP and ED were pretty good.

So much for suspense and actual emotional moments.
This is why a heavy death toll isn't good except for horror series.

blonde guy is bess char
maybe except narita's

this episode was better than the first, although the 'rushed' feeling is still there.
I didn't like the way they animated Swallow's curse ._.
tbh, I still feel like the animation of action as a whole is lacking, but since the rest of the job (OST and the likes) is being done well I don't mind disregarding it.

not much else to say.

Nasu's Character is literally a blonde Shirou Lol xD
And his friend is a grown up version from MiyuSaber.
And Uro directly goes for the Shota, ofc.

The ED is based.
However...
This really feels quite rushed. Also sometimes when they switch between scenes they don't do it good.

Can any LN reader confirm if they are rushing or not?

However, another one dies. And another Saturday night cartoon villain crossed out. Can they use something new and interesting?

Pretty bad in term of plot progression.

And they basically marked who will die. @@. Ok, the killing feast begins...

Is this anime really just gonna kill everyone? I understand that's how Ibuki draws out the Red Dragon's power but I feel like not giving the viewers a chance to get to know the characters more will do more bad than good. Like, I felt no sadness when Mashiro died last episode and when Kai died in this one....whatever, I'll keep watching
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Better paced but still fairly rushed, but not surprising I guess considering the length of the anime.
OP is great and still best part of this.lol Kaguraba
Sweallow Clazzvali though. It's Swallow Craftsvalley lmao, but better than Soirot Clasberi I guess.Eykha though for Eiha. Though I suppose Eikha or Eykha is close enough.
Lol at how they have Swallow address Ibuki the same as Eiha despite the intentional difference written. And lol 2 at all the reused frames. The fight looked pretty lazily animated too. Well, it looks better than the first episode, at least, which is funny since the first ep usually looks the best. CGI still looks ridiculous.
Well, never liked Ibuki or Eiha too much in the LN either and they're worse here if anything so not particularly a fan of those two. Still at least Nasuteam and Uroteam are fairly in character and were the best part of the LN (including Naritas Kaguraba but he's yet to appear here) so they're interesting enough.
Ibuki sacrificing his friends is still corny and lolzy in execution.
Haha this red indistinguishable background, thats not even trying anymore.I guess the rest of the fight after that wasn't too bad, though.
Lou is too clingy, almost to the point of cringeyness, trying to waifu it up I imagine. Well, should've seen that coming with the gender swap, at least they didn't change anything else about his/her character.
Thinking about it, the whole thing has a bit too much random fanservice with Mashiro last ep and Kohkaku this ep.
ED is quite good too, music is really the best part of this.
