| this episode does not feel like written by Toriyama for some reason, maybe Toriyama is only responsible for the story summary or outline overall and they just hired different script writers for each episodes |
| I just realized that the VA for Joseph Freaking Joestar also play Hercule in the recent Dragonball anime adaptation. This show just got better. |

| This is my first DB series that I've watched that are not dubbed and I must say, THE VOICES OF ALL THE MALE CHARACTERS DON'T SUITE THEM AT ALL! It'll be hard to watch but it's a must see series. |

| For people who only watched it in english I highly recommend watching the whole dragon ball kai , You may think that you're just wasting your time watching the whole thing again, but it's totally different with the original japanese voices. You can't translate japanese, all you can do is adapt it to other languages and it becomes a bullshit. |

| It's like there was no break after the buu saga at all. It honestly feels like this would be the next episode after the last episode of the buu saga! I love that! I was worried it would have lost the charm and feeling the old DB used to give, but it's exactly the same! I expected a laid back episode that was setting up for the next saga. It was fun, cute, and everything I wanted I'm so glad it's back, I could cry. Never watched the sub before and it's not that bad, judt need to get used to the voices. |

| Hey wasn't that Beerus guy supposed to be sleeping before Battle of Gods started? It could be retconning the film but part of the ad campaign of BOG was about how it's supposed to be a part of the intended canon |

| I didn't like this episode , call me a nitpicker but the pacing was awful. I know I know it has always been awful but still , I really wished it picks up , I wanna see training and fights goddammit. Edit : People who want the English dubs , you can go wait for the English dub instead of plaguing the forums with ranting about something that is obviously never gonna change over the course of the anime , no one forced you to watch the japanese dubs. Also there are some people like me who actually prefer the Japanese VAs and script. |

| The nostalgia :') I've never really heard their voices, especially of whole Saiyan bloodline except the games... and listening to them now is an ear poison for me >_> The old anime was rather fiercer, but now it only looks like more childish with characters depicted short in height. |

| That was a pretty good first episode. Nice to see it return with a nice, comedic episode to reestablish some things. That snake fight was neat too, so much fun to watch Goten and Trunks kick some ass! :D Cool to see Beerus back too, but why? He isn't going to be the big antagonist again is he? Don't get me wrong, he's great, and I'd love to see him pop up again as an antagonist. But I'd rather see some new ones first! And the second episode will be about Vegeta going on vacation. >_> Hopefully it won't mostly be silly antics, I want to see some antagonists! |
| It's great to see all these characters back again, and it did a good enough job of reintroducing them after being so far off. I think they handled Videl fairly poorly though. |

The only reason Gohan was created in the first place because Dragon Ball (DBZ) is a shounen manga, so they had to make a main character whom the target audience would relate to, as Goku was already an adult. You can argue that there are shounen manga which have grown man, or even women (medoka box) in some cases, but the general rule of thumb is just that. That's why they introduced the stupid idea of turning Goku into a kid again in GT. Anyway with this new generation of shounen, we might not need a young protagonist, although they can still keep the trend of having Goten and Trunks be the main guys like they did in the last saga/arcs of Dragon Ball/Z. Not sure how the time skip will work here. I still think Gohan is pretty much forever past his prime at this point. No point in making him fight battles unless they make him be the Z fighters strategist, because he hasn't been training as I understand at all. |
| Wow, this exceeded my expectations, everything was good. Goku working surprised me. Videl is cuter than ever before. Buu and Satan still make a funny duo. Roshi is a lovable pervert as always. Nice to see Mr Satan being nice, giving Goku the money. 5/5. |
| Wow, welcome back Dragon Ball! It's been great seeing everyone newly animated once again. I'm not 100% sure how I feel about this as of yet but honestly I have high hopes for Super. Gohan & Videl are so cute looking! It's going to be quite the nostalgic ride. |

| I can understand trying to reintroduce the characters after such a long time, but this really dragged a lot. Other than seeing Beerus basically be Frieza 2.0 this didn't help show what the main plot was going to be, not a bad episode though |

Sorry but you're wrong, Gohan was actually stronger than Goku, Vegeta and Fat Buu when they were fighting Kid Buu, they could have just called Gohan to defeat Kid Buu and wouldn't need the whole genki dama thing. |

| ^^ I don't know if Gohan would be able to defeat Kidd Buu even though IIRC,Ultimate/Mystic Gohan was supposedly stronger than SSJ3 Goku, he lacked the experience and passion of fighting like Goku did. OT: Buus Japanese voice is so damn cringy. Whatever. I think I'm growing used to Goku's voice but I still find it so damn weird how he has the same voice as Gohan. Other than that, it's all good. |
