| THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE. ---------------------------------------- It was a nice and relatively conclusive ending to see how the characters progressed to this point with their difference in ideologies. I am fine with the moon base Dallos being an unresolved mystery, as it was meant to puzzle everyone. With those final few moments, the scene shown on this OVA series' cover art finally appeared. So it was the graves of those who lost their lives in the Sea of Nostalgia incident all along. |

| I liked the opening action sequence. Despite lacking any conclusion storywise, the way it closed on the paths chosen by the various characters made it acceptable. 3/5 I saw this as a typical 80s scifi action flick. It was sometimes very well drawn, had some good animated scenes. But the story felt vain (we only follow the presentation of characters having or making their opinion on the conflicted situation of the premise), and the title mystery is never resolved. (I liked its "Giger-style" of design by the way) |
| An intense yet quite dramatic ending I must say! Quite loved this whole story and atmosphere actually. Really had a nice vibe in general I must say. The pacing was also pretty solid, so all in all a very good watch! |

| Final episode was disappointing, seemed to have a lot of the same problems the first episode had. Have to wonder if they did the making the first and last episodes first thing. |

| This wasn't great, but I kinda of liked the ending. It made the series feel kinda like a bad prologue. To bad there is obviously nothing more, but they made me interested to see how the characters would develop. Feel like this coulda been something cool. |
| I only liked the last episode as opposed to lobed because it felt so incomplete. Overall, I really enjoyed this OVA even with some of the random ideas that never really got fleshed out. |
| I can immediately say Dallos has great art and animation. It definitely reminds me of the original Gundam. I'm kind of concerned about how the main characters are mixing personal issues and grudges with politics, and the conflicts keep escalating because both sides refuse to back down. I don't even think the sides clearly understand why they're fighting. Those of the government/administration/Earth are concerned about economics and repercussions from letting things get out of hand, resulting in things getting even more out of hand. Lunarians are tired of working for Earth, living as second-class citizens , but I don't think they've ever made any direct demands for what they wanted from the government. There are good reasons for the protests and revolts, but I don't think they were properly vocalized, resulting in innocent people getting dragged into the fight. There are good questions raised by Dallos, such as if working for the greater good is a valid way to live. The characters' personal issues seemed to get mixed in though, as the narrative teeters between what the characters themselves want, and whether the Earth, or the Lunarians, deserve to live better, which seems like a strange concept in and of itself. I suppose the anime's conflict could have been solved if the Earth would treat the lunar colonies as more than just a source of economic gain, and if the Lunarians could find a compromise that doesn't require fighting. Perhaps finding an alternative industry, like tourism or space research, to better diversify opportunities on the Moon and to strengthen connections between the Earth and the Moon? Also, I'd like to see how Earth actually looks like. We've been told that Earth is living rich and prosperously, but the Earth's civilizations were apparently on the verge of collapse in recent history. At this point, it just looks like key government officials and rebels being angry at each other. The former apparently treats Lunarians disrespectfully (evident by human tracking and logging), but the rebels are also willing to turn their homes into battlegrounds, harming those they're trying to fight for. It seems like there wasn't really anything resolved by the end of the anime. I guess there really isn't a proper way to find resolution with all the escalation. At the end, Dallos was just a story of people suffering, fighting, and suffering even more because of their fighting. |

| wow it ended before any sort of climax or resolve. the art was gorgeous but this is just a prologue to something that never happened. |

| That was mind numbingly boring, 3/10 for that old work. Pretty cool piece of history though, first OVA of it's kind and by such a prolific director. |
| It is some Ovas with a lot of potential, first of all Dallos, what is it? and from there there are many questions, in addition to being able to extend the lives of several of the characters. In short, a job that is half done. 6/10 |
