Quite a touching end; I thought they would pull off the memory erasing thing or something similar. Perhaps that would sever the bond the 4 had, but I felt as if that when they saw each other, everything would become clear.

2nd season, here I come!

Well, it's too bad that after they worked so hard to become witches they had to give up their powers, however if it was necessary to help Onpu from such a critical situation then I would have done it as well. I'm off to see Ojamajo Doremi Sharp now!

Nice ending and all, but they completely forgot about the cursed items. Wasn't there still one left?

Hmm... Onpu uses her dangerous magic again, not for selfish reasons this time, but finally pays the price. It was definitely the right choice to save her, even at the cost of everything they had worked hard on the entire year, but I hope she'll reflect on her practises more on the following seasons. I know it's not actually her fault that they were about to be found out, but it was definitely her own fault for relying on Majo Ruka's charm too much when she used forbidden magic to her own gain in the past. You can't escape karma, I guess.

Anyway, this was an okay season and if the rest are indeed even better it's going to be something to look forward to.

Really good ending, but the fact that Sharp aired a week later kinda makes all of this weird, especially since there were probably commercials of Sharp.

Overall Ojamajo Doremi had a great mix of both serious and light heart magic episodes. I only wanted to rewatch it for nostalgia, and ended up being blown away. Best episodes were obviously the more serious ones that focused on actual problem children have, like parent/sibling relationship etc. Aiko episodes were probably my favorite. I'm really looking forward to the second season as it's supposed to be even better and more depressing.

Excellent series, though one unresolved plot point. (the cards anybody?)

But, other than that, the execution was tight, and created a slow build of tension throughout the entire series which worked immensely for the conclusion. Excellent characters as well, never resorting to something as bombastic as maudlin and keeping aloft.

I'll head to the second season when I can but I wonder what they will do with it? Thinking about it intrigues me, this ended on such a bold note for a series to end (granted it wasn't entirely unforeseen) I'll just wait and see.

8/10 maybe 9/10 upon reflection

Ah, that was a good finale ;_;

I didn't really like the build up to the ending, but this episode was executed so well that I don't even mind anymore. Weird that they never finished the bad cards plot point, I wonder if that'll be touched upon again in the next season. Anyway, this first season was truly a pleasure to watch. From the very beginning the show was oozing with character both in its animation/visuals and well.. its characters. I don't think there was a bad episode at all except I felt that the long string of episodic stories were a bit of a slog to get through at times mainly because I found some of the characters that those episodes focused on to be a little uninteresting, at least compared to the main cast, though the stories were solid. The mixture of the lovable characters and the many lighthearted moments they shared along with the more serious topics that this series was able to juggle made it a very emotionally satisfying watch and I'm excited to see what the sequels have in store.

That finale felt so conclusive considering that Sharp started the week after, that's surprising.

Very nice final episode for the first season, seeing the girls sacrificing their magic powers in order to save Onpu was very touching, the character drama of the series is some real good stuff in general.

They all know what real frendship is, that was heartwarming, they stopped being witches to save Onpu even though she was quite annoying with them before and used her magic to control other people's feelings, anyway that was good, and as a whole this show is so nostalgic for me, I first watched it 16 years ago and now fully rewatching it was quite the experience! Even though there are still 3 whole seasons left haha.

Pretty good final episode to the season, especially for a kids shojo anime.

Feels strange that the 4kids dub would've stopped here, though it did end in a way similar enough to anime like Hime-chan no Ribbon or Tokimeki Tonight, where it feels like it's saying "The story is OVER... though maybe we might add more if we feel like it...". Nothing even remotely hinting at future seasons.

I think I'll watch whatever happens through the rest of this series, since I enjoyed watching what I've seen so far.

I enjoyed this anime so much, even without fights like other mahou shoujo animes I usually watch, it was so good! All the characters always made every episode so fun and I loved a lot when it touched more serious topics, it always handled it so well and gave really great lessons(except for that one Reika episode)! Overall this has climbed to one of my fav magical girl series and I'm definitely gonna go to Sharp next, i heard it's great so i'm excited!!!!!

Also, I would have loved to watch this as a kid for sure, I wish i did but i wasnt even born back then lol. My favorite is Onpu, so I just wonder if she would have been my fav as a kid as well...
