THIS IS AN ANIME ONLY DISCUSSION POST. DO NOT DISCUSS THE MANGA BEYOND THIS EPISODE.
----------------------------------------
Episode 2 is out :3

Damn it, she is still so shy. The part on the airplane kinda freaked me out a little. I thought for a sec that she might cause the plane to go off balance. But uh ya, her power's got some issues.

I liked the tense moments in this episode.

The atmosphere was portrayed pretty good in this series. We still don't have exactly a clear explanation for a lot of things but was it just more did the "Hime" glance at Miyuki when she said she felt something "Stir"?

Interesting but this series still has me unbalanced as to whether I want to continue or drop it.

This episode was pretty good. I think Miyuki redeemed himself slightly. I can understand as to why he's so annoyed. But the Izumiko x Miyuki moments were cute. I actually really look forward to this anime. :DDD

That was FAR better. Very interesting.

(grin) two things come to my mind:
1) Things just got interesting, and I get the impression he's not one to back down from a fight.
2) He trust Yukimasa not at all, and automatically assumes he's up to something.

I have to admit I judged the characters too quickly from the first episode. Izumiko, although she had seemed weak in the first, actually proves to just know when and who to state her thoughts to. Unlike the typical shoujo, she knows when she likes or doesn't like something or when she's scared or whatever she's feeling. However, she doesn't just bluntly state it, so people assume she's the quiet, oblivious type. I just hope that she stays consistent in this direct sort of thought where she knows herself, how she feels, and is aware of not only her abilities but her boundaries. I only hope that she becomes more acquainted with newer things but keeps this healthy direct connection of thoughts with herself.

As for Sagara (or is it Yukimusa?) and his son, well his son still pisses me off. He's too quick to judge and always yelling. But I can see where he gets it from. Not only is the dad an actor and violent, but he also seems rather suspicious. He acts one way towards Izumiko and refuses to explain any concept to her whereas he completely fills in his son on what's going on but at the same time is rude towards him. I think Sagara-san is planning to use his son in some overall plan to overthrow Izumiko from whatever 'goddess' thing that was discussed before and now.

Speaking of the goddess stuff, what is this about vessel? Izumiko is some vessel? Well, I kind of see where this is going, but I'm hoping for the unexpected. Either way, this anime intrigues interest so looking forward to the next episode. I just hope they wrap this up nicely and aware of the time frame they have- seeing there are only 10 episodes left.

Much better than last episode! Some moments were really tense, I was actually feeling scared. I like Miyuki a lot more after this episode. I'm really looking forward to finding out more about Izumiko's powers and the whole vessel thing. Unsure over whether Yukimasa is an antagonist or not. Looking forward to the rest of the series, seems like it'll be good!

Yeah, seems like Miyuki isn't a complete dick :P I like how he holds her hand when she asked, and then tried to protect her with the chant. Everything is so mysterious right now >< The whole "something's coming" thing gave me chills. They did very well with the suspense in this episode.

Well I agree with you completely. I already liked Izumiko, and Yukimusa still pisses me off too. I don't care what or how he was brought up. And his dad being violent and suspicious, it does not give him the right to treat Izumiko the way he does. He's a top notch Jerk, blah, kill him already.
And i'm glad Izumiko knows to dislike him, and I wonder also about that other boy with the medium length hair. He is somewhat relevant to the plot I'm guessing. I wonder what he really is.

Anyways good show. at first i thought it was only 2 ovas so I was like wth! then i saw it was 12 eps, so i'm relieved and glad. This story is kind of unique, and i always love stories with a female protagonist. :D

Trip to Tokyo (and trying to find mother) probably helped the awkwardness between them. Weird blackness that never find out what it is in this ep. scares her.

Her mother "controlling" her daughter's body a bit is... I don't get what that man explained afterwards, does that mean the girl has a power to attract something (being so important)?

Very interesting episode. I think I am really going to like this one.

The Mother is very mysterious, I hope we get to see her eventually. She must have the same power as Izumiko. Still confused why neither parent is not in their child's life physically.

I get a feeling that since Izumiko is the "vessel" and is now more important than before Yukimasa will want to oversee her himself. I hope that does not happen. He gives off a bad vibe.

I don't think so. I think it's a powerful spirit (kami) and those 'black things' are after Izumiko because she and that powerful spirit are somehow bound together and they want to control it.

Or the black things are trying to get to Izumiko before she becomes the vessel and probably have the means to destroy them.

Yeah, i think so too.
But i also think Izumiko's own dad is a little freaky considering in the first episode the dad said this:

Isn't that a little creepy?
Also, i think Miyuki will eventually become nicer. i think he's that kinda character, and after developing some stuff, they'll become really good friends or something

They will definitely become friends or more.

Now that you mention it I wonder if Yukimasa is not really Miyuki's father. His lack of fatherly instincts makes me wonder what his intentions for Miyuki truly are.

The voice actress for the Himegami ( 姫神 / "Princess God" ) is different from
the voice actress for Izumiko. To me, this seems like an odd decision on the
part of the RDG producers. After all, the Himegami has to use Izumiko's vocal
chords. It would be more natural to have a single voice actress do both roles.

In the anime "Kannagi" there was an analogous situation, and they used a single
voice actress both for Nagi and Kannagi.

Izumiko is voiced by Saori Hayami: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saori_Hayami

The Himegami is voiced by Rie Tanaka: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rie_Tanaka

I think in situations like this it is not about what would be realistic... i.e. the spirit using the vocal chords of Izumiko and being voiced by one actress. To me it makes sense.. they are trying to make the two characters separate. Plus, if a spirit can take over someone's body why couldn't it manipulate the vocal chords in a way that sounds like how they want it to?

I also like that she said she disliked him.. It says a lot about her.. But I don't blame him at all. For one, he's a kid and acting like one, but also he sees his dad playing with his life for her sake, so his dad not really paying any attention to him, treating him like something of a lesser being then her, and even being voilent with him makes it perfectly understandable that he reject her. He is being close minded, but he's acting perfectly his age.

That anime is a bit boring at the moment, because there is nothing happening so far apart from several "mysteries". It is unpleasant not to know, how this anime wants to progress and what it wants to show the viewer.
Building up tension and developing the character is so much harder.

I guess you meant to say "tsundere" instead of "yandere". Yandere means he is in love to the point of being psychotic, which I don't think is the case here.
So MAL finally starts locking news threads that are only a few weeks old?

I wonder where was the announcement of this change? Or we are seeing yet another case of changes made that impacted users but not communicated to them?

I wonder how long people would put up with this.

As much as I have a bunch of information to share about anime announced recently I cannot share it in news board, and the anime series is too disorganized and chaotic to share information except with people already interested in the particular series.

I'm not sure which character TheLilyanna meant with the yandere.

Both Yukimasa (Miyuki's father) and Wamiya (medium length hair boy) could be a yandere character. Miyuki would be the tsundere.
