| I feel really bad, as I was hoping this adaption would be better so I wouldn't have to catch up with the manga (like with HxH). Then again, Madhouse is a much more competent studio. It's like A-1 blew their whole budget on SAO. This episode wasn't absolutely horrible, but the pacing and animation suffer more here than other episodes. I hope this picks up more in the next arc. |

| You'd think if they decided to put a bit more effort into certain parts of the anime they'd do it for this ep. I'd been waiting for this ep since the anime started. Honestly, I've never been one to complain or overly care TOO MUCH about faults in anime adaptations. You can never expect it to be the same. I was one who defended this adaptation cause up until this episode they generally did a pretty decent job, but gee everything fell down like an avalanche in this. The moment I saw how ridiculously bad Morgiana's kick on the black Djinn I knew the rest wasn't going to be good. And yeah, as somebody pointed out, what the hell did they do with the music? It's not like they are whispering and we can't hear. This anime has a great soundtrack, why have so many scenes in a single ep with no music? Anyway time to get on with it, hopefully they don't butcher Alibaba and Kassim's part in the next episode. They probably will, I was expecting the whole Soloman's Wisdom bit to look AMAZING but they made it look lame. Aladdin's pose at the end didn't make him look awesome at all like it did in the manga. They better do the Sinbad/Kougyoku bit well! |

Magi is about the world in general and the world building, the foreshadowing, the politics and the relationship between the countries, the poverty and the slavery, the problem of the world and the hooded men, Sinbad's motivation (in the manga he was shown as a guy who is neither a bad guy nor a good guy, his motivations were doubted, and they are till now, unlike in the anime), Judal and his role as a Magi who is supposed to be a guidance for people (he's shown in the anime as a typical generic villain), Alibaba's BAness (no, he wasn't a pussy like he is in the anime, since when KajiYuki is involved the chances of becoming a pussy is x100), the secrets of the world and Aladdin's wisdom and Solomon (that part had no impact whatsoever in the anime, because of skipping stuff and rushing), the cultures involved in creating the world of Magi..etc A-1 decided to just throw everything out of the window and animate at a x5 speed to animate the most amount of material they can animate, while messing up the world and cutting and adding as they see fit (they skipped some really important world-related stuff, like the mess of the first chapters). The result was underdeveloped characters, none of them is interesting anymore, they ruined 3 of the villain through the rushing too, the world also became bland and uninteresting. It's just that nothing had any impact because of the fast pace and horrible animation, and I had forgotten what happened in the manga to begin with, so what I watched in the anime was somehow new info, yet they had literally no impact. the anime is great i didnt read the manga nor do i care about the manga im glad there trying to make this anime small instead of 400 episodes , i didnt read the manga but this anime is probs the best this year the story and animation i feel have been amazing if u dislike the anime go read the manga again im sick of people like u complaining and comparing it to the manga i dont feel any rush in this anime compared to sword art online that was a mess time skip / action wise this anime is amazing at not rushing stuff and gets u excited for each episode |
| Did Kassim's position inside the black djinn remind anyone else of I have no problem with Alibaba being hesitant to kill Kassim. Sure it's a bit annoying, but understandable nonetheless. |

| Hmm... I guess the poor quality wasn't so poor as to catch my eye too much. I think the only thing I had a problem with was the slow dramatic music with a slow battle, the extremely poor animation/art around 18:55 with Judal's face, and... well I guess that is all. Aside from that, I'll admit this wasn't the best episode, but it was, at the very least, a decent one. |

The issue was the lack of impact with OST during when it was needed. The over-use of still/repeated frames where it shouldn't be used, and the big art quality drops. I haven't read the manga, but i know they are cutting corners like mad. In Uchuu Kyoudai, A-1 got that shit down, however that's a slice of life, this just shows they can't do action. |

| I know is the essence of shounen manga/anime but the episode was really predictable. What i liked the most was Kimura Ryouhei's voice and that soundtrack, it really is amazing! Well, let's see if this develops different but i expect Judal to "lose" and promise revenge, the country to be peaceful again and so on... Prove me wrong anime or at least try to change the classic escenary a little. Las episode was amazing and now this one is just so cliché. Sent with Mal Updater |

| Pretty boring this time... I get the impression that Magi's worse and worse. I loved the beggining - especially all eps about labyrinth, but since this Arc it's so damn average... Hope it'll change. If not I'm dropping it. Oh, and earlier Alibaba was freakin awesome. Actually my fav character. Now he's kinda annoying. =3= Maybe it's anime fault cause I don't have this feeling in the manga...? |

| alibaba is my favorite character, but in the anime he looks stupid and very annoying. in the manga he is the most developed character. he is very interesting and most of manga reader want to see his development. | I really tried to get immersed in the story... I REALLY TRIED! Usually bad production don't affect me; I'm more of a story person. Gah... I really want to like this series. But after reading the manga, I simply cannot disregard the difference in experience. One was phenomenal, and the other mediocre. In all honesty, I understand how difficult to execute the balbadd arc, and I really hope that they are simply shifting effort into later episodes. Fingers crossed. |
