Here I was hoping the government would try and help the kids and we find out they're in this thing for nothing but the technology and money. You'd think they'd be at least a little afraid and worried of all dying instead. What use is Zearth's technological benefits if the planet goes boom? I hope Takano's gamble with going public with the info will help but I get the feeling the a lot of people won't rally around and help the kids if the situation becomes known. If other governments are anything like the government claiming to help, they'd try to start a war for Zearth =(

And about Takano and Jun, wow is all I can say. Takano being Jun's mother was alluded to earlier in the episode and the report in the end nailed it. No wonder she was so apprehensive with getting the details to Kana. I wonder what Seki will do and think now that he knows the truth. He might view Takano as being selfish and aiming to really save her own child. More than Kana though, I wonder how Jun will react if he finds out his mother has been fighting with them for some time now.

...even a saint needs a soldier to do the dirty work.

You've pretty much summed it all up, can't wait to see how all this turns out.

I wonder when Dung-Beetle will find out about the chips.

Yeah, this much surprised me as well. I thought she got close to the kids as it was natural humanly to do, but seems there was more to it. I really wanna see the others reaction to this.

*goes watch episode 15*

Nice episode; and I had a gut feeling that Tanaka was Ushiro's mother for a while now, so I'm glad that it seems to finally be confirmed at the end there.

Tanaka being Ushiro's mother was a kind of lame plot twist since the chances of them meeting up were so slim unless if Tanaka was seeking for him or if Dung Beetle has some type of control over fate. It's still not much of a set back for the quality of this show which I still don't understand why it's not ranked higher than in the 400's.

So they're gonna try to help the kids out of the contract...
I can only see it giving the kids false hope though, I don't really think they'll be able to escape from it.

I'm kind of worried about Kirie though, he seems like he thinks that he is worthless, I can see him chickening out of fighting or losing even. Although if he lost, the whole show would be kinda over, so somehow he'll win I bet xD

Interesting twist. Good episode. I hope Tanaka gets somewhere with this gamble. Nice to see the main plot being developed more.

A slow episode, but alright.

There's no focus on Kirie despite him about to die...

Lol... it's true... although it seems like the next ep will focus on him. I fear he attempts to kill himself after what I heard in the end of the episode... I hope he doesn't.

This episode was interesting, especially when they revealed that Tanaka is the mother of Ushiro. Now I understand why she takes it so personaly.

The "twist" of her being the mother was pretty obvious.

A bit more of a whole story/char development focus rather than one specific person, the ending seemed rather interesting so let's see what's next!

Did anybody else notice the fact that on the report it said tanaka was born in 2000 while ushiro was born in 2017

It really didn't hit me that Tanaka was Ushiro mother till she gave a pause in this episode, so I kinda saw it coming. However, I do not see this plan of the hacking chip working. It's going to go wrong, no doubt about that.

frozensword, you're right... If she did have Ushiro when she was 17, maybe that's a reason why she had to give him to adoption?
Earlier in episode 13 Tanaka is accused of giving information to the magazines, but this point is pretty vague; I don't remember her saying she did not do it period. This episode she's again asked if she gave info about the kids anywhere, but she's concerned about about them, so I hardly doubt she did it. She wanted to tell the midia tho, so I don't think it's that unlikely she helped that magazine.
Also, Takana has lots of connections everywhere. She seems to know a lot about many things, so she decides to gamble with the doc Yoshikawa. Still, Kanji's right: if they manage to break the contracts, who will get this information?

Kirie is an intriguing character. I sure hope he gets a good development and explanation for his self next episode. But next episode's title is also pretty troubling...

So why the fuck is she not telling him that she's his mom, since you know either her or him can die at any moment. It's kind of selfish that she wouldn't tell him especially seeing how much pain he is in over not having a mom. Way to drop the ball there. What is she going to wait until one of them is about to die after they use the robot then they get only a minute worth of talking and then the kid is still confused and even more pissed than before. What a dumbass Tanaka is.

You know you just can't go up to a child you've given up for adoption and tell them you're their mother right?

Was a bit surprised at first that the government/companies where already starting to make plans to profit from Zearths technology, but seeing how it looks like they can't really affect the outcome of the mecha fights in any way, I guess it could makes sense to just assume the best outcome. Rather than just some of the technology I would've expected them to try and build another mecha instead though.

I never considered Tanaka would be Ushiro's mother. I guess I am just slow.

Also, Kirie is going to die without any backstory? I mean, I don't care about him, but that would be inconsistent.
