Looking at Kanade's personality reminds me of Hibiki when she goes berserk, maybe that means Kanade's anger still live inside Hibiki...

Tsubasa is sooo annoying i was so happy when she sang her swan song, i'm almost sure that she''ll die, turnsout that she can be saved!! EWWWW i hope she die a slow and painful death and we can see second by second the process of her dying YAYYY

Hope Miku become Symphogear soon!!!!and hope she is a yandere!!

I definitely don't like Hibiki. "Oh, Tsubasa was suffering because I said silly things" and all I can do is cry and being useless and being a martyr, i'm looking forward to her death~

Tsubasa, wake up, I need more of Nana Mizuki's amazing voice ;_;

Now that I think about this I think the power of Symphogear makes you flip out. Earlier I said everybody but Hibiki has flipped but then I remembered that Hibiki flipped out as soon as she got it. I also used to like Tsubasa until she went into a depression. I think that if she lives to appreciate Hibiki that both her and Hibiki will make a pretty bad-behind team. I don't mind all the silly angst a long as it doesn't go on for too much longer.

This was pretty kick ass! I think I'm starting to like this show... just a little bit. It didn't hurt that they had nice training montage with the Gouki and Makoto references. I guess I shouldn't have been surprised by all the blood in this episode (though I was), episode one definitely spilled a lot of blood, too. This entertainment value of this show is probably going to depend mostly on how Hibiki progresses.

Hibiki is pretty weak and useless indeed. Tsubasa used her swan song (pretty scary to see that bloody face btw) and she couldn't do a thing. At least she's training now. Speaking of training; I laughed so hard at the montage in the end. So many movie and game references like Bruce Lee and Akuma and Makoto from Street Fighter! xD

Hopefully Hibiki will finally kick some ass next week and cease to be a wimp.

Hmm seems most ppls think mikus gonna be a symphogear eventually. Wells I'll just put it out there I definitely don't think she will at all. I think she'll be something along the lines of Nanoha's 2 friends from the first season IMO.

Anyways fantastic episode... definitely made up for last 2 episodes blahness. Funny that the two best episodes so far have had Kanade in em lol. What I'm curious about the most though is why the evil symphogear wanted to kidnap Hibiki of all ppl. Very curious indeed.

Come to think of it, there's already an abnormal number of people rooting for either Tsubasa or Hibiki dying. And I have little doubt that to Miku too, when (and if) she finally gets to action. Kanade was smarter than that and escaped by dying right in the first ep.

No, Precure, for the most part, never took itself too seriously. It's rather that Symphogear tries too hard to be serious (while fighting and singing at the same time, no less!), that makes it hard to take this show seriously.

Miku seems a bit on the Yandere side to me since the beginning.
And now, Nehustan wants to capture Hibiki on the night Miku and Hibiki was supposed to see a meteor shower together.

Could be wrong though.

But I don't really care for them I just want Tsubasa back.... T^T

If she is Nehushtan she can capture her any time...

Also the noise are being controlled by her. Why would she summon up noise during meteor shower watching?

True, the flashbacks of Kanade are more enjoyable then the rest of the show. Hope they give us prequel or something where we could see more awesome concerts like in first episode.

This episode was the most entertaining until now, loved the whole bloody scene with blood even coming out of her eyes.

Btw this episode once again confirms that we lost the best character in the first episode. She was such a badass. Lets hope her miserable replacement gets better after the whole training by that guy..

HeartCatch/PreCure and Symphogear are pretty far apart in terms of intended audience and story telling methods. Episode 4 of Symphogear should have made that clear.

Whether or not you can take a show that has people singing and fighting at the same time seriously is up to you. But by not accepting how the world in Symphogear works you're making watching this show harder on yourself.

Preorder sales. Higher number = higher chances that a series would sell copies of the anime.

Meanwhile, they say that High School DxD has higher preorder sales than Aquarion EVOL.

I can't imagine the creators planned to please everyone and are problably aiming the dramatics towards fans that are interested in the show enough to learn(or at least not pretend to not know their names at this point) the names of the characters.

I could be wrong. The creators may very well be trying to please hecklers instead of fans of the show.

The person at the beginning of this topic has a nice theory,

However, I don't think that's the case: I think Kanade's soul was so tainted with hatred that the relic didn't want to be with her or something. I guess their souls need to be either untainted or filled with hope or borderline death, me thinks.

Also, seeing Tsubasa and Kanade all with blood didn't do me a thing. I guess I turned emotionless from seeing too many anime. It was cool though.

Also, I think the singing part in this whole anime is just a way to shamelessly promote Nana Mizuki once again.

If I would accept how world in Symphogear works that i would probably dropped it as of now. With all those plotholes, illogical behaviours and so on... so i started not to take it seriously and it started to be enjoyable.

And of course they are totally different shows but if you take any Negatone/Desertarian or whatever from Precure it's still better than those Noise. They don't work here.

I've read the 4 threads here and there has not been one mention of a plot hole at all. Instead there's just been 3 people saying "plot hole" with no explanation as to what they are referring to. Without even knowing what you think are plot holes I am going to say that since this show is only on episode 4 it would be more correct to call your "plot holes", mysteries that have not been answered yet. Stories, like life, is just a series of events made up of people/characters logical and illogical decisions."Warning: Anime defies logic" should be a disclaimer on anime nowadays given the way some people cry about it.

Once I know what the Noise are then I might play your little comparative game. The Noise to me at this stage of the story are antagonists without purpose.

Game? Even if they would have some deeper meaning behind them fact is that they look stupid. Simple statement based on facts.

And some example you say? This thing with concert in first episode - so you invite people into the place where mosters may appear (and they do what a surprise), and even more those who should kill those monsters just sit and wait how people are killed. Not to mention position of super secret base... and no one sees those people going in and out of school?
Ah this disclamer... nice nice but you can defy logic in different style. This one is so bad, that it's actually good (with addition of few other factors).

No part of "they look stupid" is fact.

The Noise seem to be able to appear when and where ever they like. If anything a concert run by the organization that deals with the Noise should be safer than some random street corner. ZweiWing was put in the position of having to expose their secret identities at a public venue and they are trained soldiers so they initially waited for orders but when it was clear none were coming they took action. Who says no one sees people going around the campus? The members of the organization are seen but since none of the students(not sure abou the faculty) know there's a super-secret base under the school there's nothing for them to be suspicious of. If they see a person getting into an elevator a passer-by would have no clue if that elevator is going to the basement or sub-level 3000.

So you're basically an apologist. You'd rather buy the lame and outright stupid explanations rather then question the stupidity of the actions. So long as they explain it, no matter how dumb, it's fine right? That's something I find hard to swallow now, after you watch so many shows.

of course is a fact :) pure 100% obiective fact that I feel that they are stupid
so for me they are, for you not and everyone is happy

No of course it wouldn't be weird to build huge base under the school or get there supplies, electicity, water and so on - if I would like to be picky about that base thing
but that part is a bit weird... wouldn't it be better to put experiment (as it was this) in a place surrounded by military, with some explosives, good surveliance (to get some more data) than in a place that not only is unprepared for it, but will bring more civilian casualties - but it had to be a concert with lots of people running around, like our main character. They somehow knew that Noise will be there for whatever this artifact was.

It doesn't matter if it's a decision by the designers to make them look too cartoonish-cute, but with the angst and negative emotions floating around, it doesn't work with the mood. Yes, it looks stupid, and it doesn't matter if it's fact or opinion: it looks stupid.

Apologist of what? If the students on campus don't know there's military base under the school then people from said base can walk around campus without getting suspected of being secret agents. ZweiWing did act and were under constraints due to the situation. I am not defending their inaction by saying it wasn't a plot hole to wait for orders to sortie. If you've seen a number of shows then you know that writers typically build up the tension around tragic events like that by showing scenes of how the faceless masses are getting beatup before actually tossing the heroes into the mix, no matter how close they are.

No of course it wouldn't be weird to build huge base under the school or get there supplies, electicity, water and so on - if I would like to be picky about that base thing

Not being the best spot isn't a plot hole.

They somehow knew that Noise will be there for whatever this artifact was.

They weren't there for the Noise and didn't know the Noise were going to attack. Someone in the story wanted to steal the artifact and did so at the concert. What exactly the they were doing with the artifact or why they thought it was safe as-is has yet to be revealed. The story has been going back to that day explaining various parts in each new episode.

It doesn't matter if it's a decision by the designers to make them look too cartoonish-cute, but with the angst and negative emotions floating around, it doesn't work with the mood. Yes, it looks stupid, and it doesn't matter if it's fact or opinion: it looks stupid.

Knowing the different between opinion and fact is the point of that comment. You can have whatever opinion you like about the appearances of the Noise.

Aww damn it, them showing what Kanade had to go through to in order to be compatible with the symphogear just made me sadder. She went through extreme measure to be able to fight the noises, ugh watching her cough blood like that. Such a great character...

When Tsubasa was singing her swan song I was going nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo don't do it! If the best char imo of the show would've died, eh Idno if Hibiki would've been enough for me to carry on. Not sure why she didn't disintegrate right after like Kanade tho, but I sure am glad she didn't. Btw that was a great fight scene! Those scenes after the incident with the sad background playing made it so depressing, got teary tbh. Tsubasa seeing Kanade again in her subconscious, such a sweet scene to watch.

Hibiki's new found determination and decision to go under training was good to see. She's really getting better, liking her a bit more now. Still got a bit to go tho, but nice to see her starting to change.

Nice ep and all, but so far in this series, I've been focused on the concepts and not too much in the story. I can't help but feel this is a mix of elements with Ryuusei no Rockman (these Noise are like viruses), the Symphogear seems like the same concept of ZX Armor from Rockman ZX, and FINALLY....Genjurou Kazanari (the red hair guy) has an INCREDIBLY striking appearance to Master Thomas from Rockman ZX Advent.

Other that this, the character concept of Tsubasa just isn't something acceptable with her attitude and all. I understand the past and stuff, but her present self just makes her more of a stubborn ass to Hibiki. And yes, it can't go without the trouble of having Hibiki saying "I WILL REPLACE YOUR LIFELONG EQUAL DUO OF A WONDER" in that last ep. That was just outright stupid to say so...

In any case, I will expect more enjoyable content in the future eps anyway. :P

Was I the only one bothered to see Tsubasa's "Swan Song" being absolutely useless? That is supposed to be the "be all, end all" attack for these fighters. Not only did her opponent fly away (although she did show signs of 'cracking', which I hope they explain), Tsubasa herself is unstable, but may recover.

Perhaps if you are truly "ready to die" the attack becomes insta-kill for both parties. Tsubasa may have wavered in her thoughts for a bit, so perhaps she wasn't ready to sacrifice herself. All I'm saying is that the next Swan Song better oust the user and the opponent. It has a track record to keep here.
