A comment on yngtadpole's profile page sparked an idea for a new thread question. He said: "If I were to identify myself with an anime character, I characterize myself as Sagara Sosuke. Always serious, misinterpreting the social situation, into tactics and the military, and totally clueless about girls. :3"

I can't pick just one.
50% - http://myanimelist.net/character/236/Yuuko_Ichihara
20% - http://myanimelist.net/character/461/Balalaika
15% - http://myanimelist.net/character/3934/Olivier_Mira_Armstrong
10% - http://myanimelist.net/character/70/Riza_Hawkeye
5% - http://myanimelist.net/character/1795/Motoko_Kusanagi (Oh, o.k. So what if I'd just like to look like her)

Who are you?

xD I was talking to a friend about this, just yesterday, and its really hard since most anime characters are a bit extreme. If they were the average person it'd make the anime rather boring I think. xD

Who am I? I like to think that I'm closest to Drake Anderson of Read or Die, who, while he has no real special powers or abilities is trusted enough to look after this space-case who can't seem to keep her nose out of a book long enough to breathe. And he seems to do a pretty good job of it, harried as he is throughout the OAV.

I always felt that he didn't get enough air time in the TV series and while we learn about his daughter, we never really get to meet her. I always wonder how she turns out what with her father always running off to baby-sit Yomiko.

I love Read or Die. xD It would've been nice to meet her I think. I definitely loved how they introduced him, doing pottery, and then talking to Yomiko about how if baby-sitting her was his Lucky Day what would his bad day look like until he saw Miss Deep. lol xD

Didn't expect to see alucard on anyone's list, I don't envy your life at all sir.

Hmm, I think I would be fairly close to Benny from Black Lagoon maybe? We're both techies, pretty laid back, and for whatever reason are always on the sideline of whatever crazy shit is going down.

Although the character i most identify with is Shikamaru just cause he is able to make laziness work so well for him and I envy that ability lol

Its the attitude and personality more then anything. He is confident in his abilities and will face them with all of his power and skill.

Hmm! I've given this some thought, and the only anime character that comes closest to being my alter-ego would Kyon from The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya. Like Kyon, I tend to be occasionally caustic and cynical and skeptical. And, he's rather cool too!

May the DESU be with you! Always!

@lisnoire LOL I can't remember exactly what was said but in Kora wa zombie desu ka one of the main characters yelled to another character, you don't have enough personality to be a main character! Something to that extent about being a dating sim character. xD

xD I dunno about anyone else but I still feel like the Military is one of the most entertaining places to work. I met some of the funniest concentration of people all gathered in one organization. xD Like it hurts to laugh, practically crying laughter... fun times. =)

I remember one time on our first or second day in Iraq, I was doing roaming Firewatch and we had walkie talkies and one of the other guards started talking on the radio like a soccer sportscaster and he starts speaking rapid-fire headed Spanish, which I didn't understand, ending with, "GOALLLLLLLLLLLLLLLL!!!!" Was sooo funny. xD Certainly made us less nervous.

It was easy to pick him.....I am a former Helo pilot for the Marines. I loved flying, like Dio did/does. I had that same joy in the sky he exhibited throughout the original series (only watched 3 eps so far from Fam). He, and Klaus, were kindred spirits and Dio tried to get Klaus to let go and really fly, which of course he did. Dio is my hero!!!! PS. I'm really pleased that Dio did not die in the first series. Him being in Fam is the main reason I dl'ed it.

--Holy sh . . . . stuff! You are talking to someone with av gas in her veins. I was taking flying lessons and working for an FBO before I was out of high school and an En Route Air Traffic controller in the Army back when rocks were soft and dirt just a concept. I love 'copters and the guys who fly them. Last Exile "got to me" because it had such a "barnstorm" feel to it. That and naval battles in the clouds. I enjoyed Fam but didn't think it as good as the original. Yowza! A 'Nam era Helo pilot. Life is good.

--Sea Stallion. BIG bird. Being Army, I hung out with UH-1's and OH-58's. Post Army during a short stay in Alaska I got acquainted with the Hughes 500, aka OH-6. Looks like you haven't seen http://myanimelist.net/anime/798/Yomigaeru_Sora:_Rescue_Wings. I think you'll like it a lot.

Had a CH-53 land at our camp in Kuwait. I thought the every tent was going to come down! Fuckin awesome bird.
Travelin' south on MSR Tampa, just south of Baghdad and minding my own goddam business when a freakin shithook buzzez our convoy (bad guys blew up every bridge south of Baghdad, once bailey bridges were in place, there was a lot of air cover), I jumped out of my skin. They were sooo low, I could see the tail gunner laughing at my reaction to them buzzing us. I know, I know...shithooks don't have a tail gunner, but they do...there is a scandinavian designed gatling gun that is mounted on a portable base that is bolted(?) to the ramp and this one had it. Yeah, I love shithooks too.
Furykury, nice pic for your alter ego. Soft spot in my heart for Marines...got to fight with them at a place called Iskanderia, Iraq
My alter ego? A little Nina Antalk and a little Andrei Sergeivich Kalinin
