I wonder if there is a possibility that Hikaru no Go will start again... First the final dissatisfied me and I assume many people as well... Second, there is much more stuff that can be written, they are only fifteen, I would love to see their future in Go world more, like they are having at least one title, I would love to see Hikaru playing Touya Meijin, Ogata Jyudan, Kuwabara Honinbou, and as well as Ko Young Ha again and he didn't even tell the truth about Sai to Akira...

I doubt there will be a squel anytime soon. If there was, there would have to be a different artist, because Takeshi Obata is currently working on Bakuman.

it might turn into new ''Hajime no Ippo'' if we are going to see all those match ups and tournaments. But still i would liked to see more of Sai in the end.

well I don't know about Hajime no Ippo, but it seems there are more than 800 chapters, and yeah maybe it will be like this if they continue the story. still it would be interesting because Hikaru no Go is one of my favorites, there is so much passion, brilliance in it and so real and distinct characters except Sai of course and despite it is mainly about Go, it is a well expressed story and so much course to exhibit I think so I am really dissatisfied it ending like that.

and for those who like Hikaru no Go and dissatisfied with the ending, there is a fanfiction story on the net as it contains the continuation of the story and it feels so right with the characters and the events and it is getting more interesting as it continues and many times I think this story should be adapted to the manga but here is the problem with Takeshi Obata being the artist and not having this artist right now for this series... it is a real pity, I don't even understand why the series has stopped at first...

Here is the site for the story

That's the end of the story. It made me cry!
In fanfiction, there's also another continuation that you might want to have an alternative from. This continuation talks about Sai and Hikaru.
If you're Sai's fan, I'll highly recommend this to you. Enjoy!

I was disappointed too, normally, a story ends when the main character achieves their goal, (the hand of God) but it didn't show us...so disappointed.

Nothing is explained. Shuusaku disappears without a trace after one minor conversation about disappearing. Sai disappears and the adult plays act like kids speculating on ghosts and reincarnation.

I have not been this disappointed by a manga since the selection of Sousuke to be Naruto's main nemesis.

Pathetic last arc.

6/10 (Enjoyable but ruined by plot holes and repetitive, predictable tournament style narration)

This could have been a 9 or even a 10. It's too bad the author was too lazy and had no sense of what a conclusion even means.

The ending really disappoints me.. The manga started with a very good flow and then it ended with so many questions and games hanging. I really hope that they will continue it. But Obata is working on Bakuman (which is a slow pacing manga).

*sigh*

Ah, it disappointed me too.. I love this manga ):
They should have a second series / season for this! I liked the ending quote : to link the far past to the far future

But i would like to see the far future and what has happened and changed. More sai?
I miss sais funni chibi pictures...

Toya's father is in his late adult years now and even he hasn't achieved the "Divine Move" yet. Go is a game that takes only minutes to learn but a lifetime to master. The path Hikaru and Akira are on is a life long one, the never-ending road that is Go. ;D

I don't think they could have ever really given this manga a "true" ending in the final sense that is, even if it went on for years and years. The current story had run its course. Hikaru got past his emotional crisis and was ready to set out on the path of a pro. That was probably the goal of the manga all along anyhow.

That said, I heard there was some dispute from Korea itself over one of the Korean players in the manga and sued Hotta which may also explain the some what abrupt ending. Maybe a little more was planned to give a better sense of closure but even then I don't think there was much left in the tank and it was gonna draw to a close either way.

Indeed it feels as if their journey just started! There is still plenty of room for all the young Go players (Hikaru, Akira etc) to grow more! And what the hand of god too? That has yet to really appear..

I wonder if like Prince of Tennis, there'll be a continuation of Hikaru and his friends' journey?

I think it’s over and doubt there is gonna be a sequel. It seems like the author has no other ideas for the story and just ended it.
