That was a really abrupt and unprofessional way to make Eimei lose. Made Chinatsu lose for what? To make it look closer to reality? Also where tf is even Hina? Why is she so irrelevant now?Didn't expect this from the author.

Quero ver o desenvolvimento do Kyo, para mim ele carrega esse manga nas costas. Os protas são legalzinhos e tal, mas já ta sem graça ao ponto de eu só pular as paginas para ver se aparece o Kyo ou a Moriya.

WHAT IN THE WORLD?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

No seriously, what was the point of those constant flashbacks forcing the very character of Yumeka on our face, even when we were not asking? What was the point of all that pep talk about life and stuff from school kids no less, again, when we never asked?? They did all that unneeded stuff only to give an ending which makes all the build-up absolutely and utterly wasteful.

Now yeah, on to Taiki getting a closure this rushed as well.

Personally I don’t like the decision to make chii lose the tournament. 3 years of hard work and 4 years of hoping gone down the drain. I feel like Chii kind of needed to win something cause then the whole “staying in japan for basketball” is kind gone. I thought she could’ve won at least one tournament. 😭😭 I feel like the miura kind of snubbed chii for more taiki development. I personally don’t like the way the chapter turned out and I feel like the manga is getting a little too rushed.

What I love about blue box is how the characters lose matches more often than they taste victory, reflecting the reality of life. That basketball match lasted three chapters, yet the result of their loss was summarized in just one page. There’s no over-the-top drama; instead, it's about accepting defeat with grace when you've given your best. Chinatsu has truly matured.

I felt bad for Chi too, but that's what makes Blue Box such a beautiful manga. The connection to reality in Blue Box is inspiring; it shows that even when you give your all and still lose, it can mean someone else deserved that victory more than you. They must have worked harder for it. (Though, of course, reality is more complex, and there are factors beyond your control in your loss.)

The link to the first chapter with the words Chi says to Taiki broke me in a thousand peaces. Also the final Chi arc playing superb on her games and ending losing o quarterfinals suddenly Is a little bit sad and abrupt, but overall really enjoyable

where is the story going, like is the author making the characters loose on purpose to make it feel more realistic, this manga frustrates me to my core. It lowkey makes chinatsu's efforts looks bad (I get it that you don't always win but still no redemption after 3 years of highschool)

Allllllright, so the author skipped the match where Chinatsu lost... I'm not gonna complain, it saved to many tears.
But damn, why should she lose AGAIN ? 🤦🏻‍♂️

@mimiouka What taste of reality are you talking about? If they wanted to focus on reality then They would never make her "that good at what she does and highlight her skills just to never win anything and on top of that lose to some random teams and dont even show how she lost. Thats just unnatural and weird. Realistic would be to make her average, try her best nonetheless and lose in the end despite her efforts....that would be realistic. The way her character was up untill this point was completely shattered and it felt unnatural. If you compare Blue Box to Hibike! Euphorium you can clearly see the difference. Hibike played out natural....Blue Box not so much

@ReaperCZ I get where you’re coming from, but I think we’re looking at “realism” from different angles. Making Chi super talented yet still not win is realistic in a different, more painful way. Reality doesn’t always reward effort or skill—sometimes, things just don’t go your way, even when you deserve it. That’s what made her loss hit harder for me. It wasn’t about who beat her—it was about how it affected her.

The realism in Blue Box isn’t about average people trying and failing—it's about how even the exceptional can fall short. That’s real life too. Talent and effort don’t guarantee success, and Chi’s loss reflects that harsh truth.

I wouldn’t call her opponents “random teams” either—we might not know them well, but in-universe, they’re clearly strong. Sometimes a story doesn’t need a full play-by-play to convey the emotional weight of failure. Blue Box focuses more on the internal struggles and growth of its characters than on the matches themselves.

As for Hibike!—it’s a solid example of a different kind of realism, sure. But I think both series just emphasize different truths. One shows the journey of striving toward greatness, the other shows what it feels like when greatness isn’t enough. Neither is wrong—just different flavors of bittersweet.

Not all realism looks the same. Blue Box chose the quieter kind—the one that lingers in your chest long after the page turns.

I think you're mistaken, man. It's often been emphasized that Chinatsu is far from being a basketball genius like Yumeka. Chinatsu is good at her sport because she's the one who trains the most at Eimei High School. When Yumeka played on her team, Yumeka was the best player. Furthermore, on the basketball team, we only know Chinatsu and Nagisa. The rest are nameless NPCs. That is to say, if Chinatsu didn't play a good game, Eimei would surely lose the game. It's normal for Eimei to lose vs NPCs because, apart from two players, the entire Eimei's team are NPCs.

Personally, I played football for 12 years. I wasn't the best in my city, but I was always one of the standout players in my city. Despite that, I only made it to the national tournament twice in 12 years, both times losing in the first game. I didn't like that Chinatsu lost off-camera, but I found her defeat very realistic, just as I found it realistic that she won't win anything in her career as an athlete. In reality, very few people win trophies despite being good at their sports. For example, Haryu was good and didn't win anything, and Yusa and Hina are also great at their sports, and if they don't win anything in their last year, they won't win anything like Chinatsu.

Maybe for some reason you don't like it or it doesn't seem realistic to you, but with my experience in sports, it did seem that way to me

This last arc feel so rushed, I hope the author not plan to just end the manga with the last tournament of taiki, and another thing, where's hina? Haruto tell her he love her and the author just forgot about that!
