Too much wasted time in filler, many plot holes and a clear pandering to the "current thing" if you want a decent cheesy gundam theres seed for you that at least have some big music actors doing voices for some episodes in japanese

I don't think that this anime has a pacing issue, I think it is slower and more juvenile drama until this episode to make a point. Half of the characters or more are kids and the previous episodes were intended for us to understand them as children. They had school rivalries and crushes. They have negligent and controlling parents. They were still learning and growing. Nodbody died in the duels. They didn't want to build gundams as arms, but to help people. But they're not in a slice of life high school setting, they're being trained to bluild and operate war machines for mega corporation interests. Most of them were war orphans. Now they can't keep ignoring the truth: mobile suits and gundams are build to kill. Now they're soldiers.

I wasn't ready for the after credits scene. I understand Miorine's reaction. Yes, Suletta did save her and her father, but she did so in a gruesome and coldblooded way. "I'm such a klutz" says the one piloting an overpowered machine.

That scene circles back to the start of the series, when Suletta and Aerial frustrated Miorine's escape attempt. Miorine didn't trust Suletta then for obvious reasons, will she trust her now? The girl that made her life bearable is a murderer, but also her savior.

One of the best final episodes of an anime I've ever seen. While the ending to the final fight might have been underwhelming, the fight itself is one of the prettiest ones I've seen in the series so far. There's a lot to get frustrated with about this final episode, but I think that's all overridden by the fact that we are guaranteed a second season at the end of the episode (which is already complete at the time of me reviewing this). Guess I have to watch season 2, now!

wow that final scene was so dark, i didn't expect something like that.
i understand that suletta did that to save Miorine, but that reaction was scary, it reminded me a little about Mikazuki from iron blooded orphans.
delling shielding Miorine with his body was unexpected, i don't know if he is alive or not at this point.
I think that Guel will never recover from that battle with his dad.
overall i loved this season, i'm super hyped for the next.

Suletta really annoyed me but at the end of episode 12 I saw her do ok, and Miorine in my opinion was a character who only knew how to rest for herself and at the end of episode 12 I didn't like her even more because I think everyone who sees that scene is confused but with a strong and intelligent personality It was necessary to do so, Suletta could have done it better because because he died in an instant so he didn't feel any pain.

Not changing my score for the series, but I will say that this turning point for the series, those high stakes and Suletta's struggles regarding the brutal realities of war are rather interesting.

This was an amazing conclusion to the first season! The episode dealt with themes of legacy and family, with Guel's father killed by his own son (who was trying to help Suletta), Delling wounded, and Suletta confronting her mother about violence and then following her violent footsteps. The Earth Witches fled, and the terrorists lost. Suletta is forever changed though, and the juxtaposition between the oft-more violent Miorine and her is now stark. Suletta really freaked me out in the last, post-credits scene. WTF! I hope that Suletta can retain her self and not become like the Earth Witches. Season 2, I'm guessing, will examine Suletta's relationship with her mother, her mother's past, and her own background. This is an amazing story!

Also little shout-out to Gundam 0079 reference with hanger 78.

Ah yes, trauma, death, and child soldiers, now this is a real Gundam show.

So far the season has been slow, as the show took its time establishing the characters and the central conflict. The dramatic finish to this season really gets me hyped up to finish season 2. From this episode onward, things are going to get rough.

Side note: Watching this right after the 079 movies made me appreciate this series and how far its come even more. I don't think I appreciated IBO when I first watched it, but now that I am more familiar with Gundam and am paying more attention, I realize just how good this series can be.

Well, that was dark in several ways. This show certainly escalated quickly.

Surprised to see so many positive comments about the final episode.

Miorine calling Suletta a "murderer" was the most irritating moment of the season for me. I would even say it was out of character for her. I understand that Miorine is an insecure child beneath her cold exterior, but she's spent enough time in the cutthroat business/political world to understand that sometimes things get ugly and some distasteful things must be done. It's okay to feel horrified and scared, but having the presence of mind to flip on someone precious to her right away like that, before even reaching safety first (your dad is bleeding out right there, girl) makes her either a terrible person or over-the-top, nonsensical writing. Maybe she's just hysterical after multiple recent traumatic events..?

Suletta and Prospera were much more convincing and interesting. Suletta at least didn't call her mom a murderer when she gunned down those people, even when she was probably far less prepared to accept killing. Yes, Prospera is manipulative, but nothing she said was outright wrong and I dare say she spoke with real kindness and understanding. Suletta then flipping a switch and killing her enemies without remorse was also believable, since she's always been an odd one and we've seen how she is under complete control of her mom.

Guel murdering his own father was way too melodramatic a development and did not have much emotional impact on me. Neither of those characters has been built up particularly well, and the relationship between the two has been a vague version of the typical "living up to expectations" and "do as I say" father-son conflict.

This is my first gundam, and maybe I'm just not used to the usual trappings of a gundam show. But to me this season just felt clunky, directionless, inconsequential, needlessly complicated, shallow. The art is appealing, the animation is great, and the music is stellar, but at this point I'm wondering if I should even bother with the 2nd cour/season.

Okay, I wasn't really sure what to feel about this show before but this episode pulled me in. If this is the bread and butter of all Gundam shows then I'm diving head-on. I really like the politics and social dynamics of this show but I don't really care about the whole school stuff, this episode feels like a setup for a glow up.

I have this 3 strike checklist that makes me invested in a show a lot more, put my hands up, and say "absolute cinema".

1. Nika getting caught - I knew at some point Nika would show her "true" self like in a villain showing that she is working for them but a side character (Martin) catching her I can imagine going 2 ways. Either he gets killed or an amongus game start. I just love plot lines like this.

2. Guel killing his father - I mean I don't need to explain why this sh-t's awesome. Also shows how underrated communication is in a battlefield.

3. Little Suletta swatting a fly - I mean I also don't need to explain... her mother leading her to that... and what will happened to her relationship with Miorine...
