Sunraku going on a pirate ship with this adventure was not on my bingo card this season.

Then again, he plays this like a gamer would so he seemed ready for this. Fun episode though. Excited to see where Sunraku takes his adventures next.

Ahh...Previous episode was like filler but in this episode Sunraku reunites with Rust and Mord at Fifticia’s shipyard, preparing to accept a unique scenario leading to Ctarnidd. I thinks it was bit intresting that thy leading another fight with unique monster. Can't wait for the fight Sunraku V.s Ctarnidd. (Also in this fight I want psyger 0 to play a good role). Let'z see in next ep.

Pirate adventure time! This was another fun ep, finally got rust and mould in SLF and they picked up right where they left off in the mech game in terms of banter. Lmao at all the NPCs damn near passing out from Sunraku’s aura.

Rei snuck onboard??? This quest is going to be really good. Can’t wait for next ep. We need more Pencilgon tho

Let's get this out of the way, this is a 10/10 episode, we all know that.
What I want to say is, to me, the name of Rust's... friend has always sounded like Moldo and while watching this episode, it clicked: His name is Mold!
For some reason they both have names related to decay; Rust for metals, Mold for organics. But I'm not sure how to interpret that...
Maybe, in the fight with Ctarnidd, they will be the weakest link and the team will lose because for them, somehow.
(Sorry if that was obvious to you from when they were introduced, I only just noticed it.)

That cut of Hizutome's sister leaving a house had way more frames that it deserved.
I wonder if production of this series is crunchless.

Seeing him testing how the scar works is nice but the most important question is still left open: is the "three minute countdown" for the armor destruction linked to the armor in question or does it just reset on re-equip? The way how it's worded and that there doesn't seem to be any kind of visual "damage build up" on the gear would suggest the latter meaning there should be no reason as for why he couldn't just make a macro and press it after every 2 min and 59 sec (kinda like how you would do if you wanted to "rebuff" yourself), a bit annoying but that's how these effects usually play out in other games.

Rei shi is so annoying am mad pissed that she is going with him to the pirate ship scenario , and on top of that she wants to go to rabititzu , she looks bad her character personality is bad and on top of that she wants to spill the beans to her guild fml , just when I thought she was gone she somehow is back ridiculous, the akitsunane girl is fine she looks good and has a good personality, but rei shi got to go 🥸

Finally it feels like the event is actually starting with Sunraku waving goodbye to Akitsuakane and Rei as well as testing the durability of the armor he puts on thanks to his curse. That sure is a problem but in a way it can act as a temporary buff that gives him more plays in the future. It also scares NPCs as we could see in his encounter with Rust and Mold, the former being way grumpier and latter acting like a bit of a nerd.

With the ship setting up for sailing Sunraku receives and it's... Rei and Akitsuakane sneking in the mission. Huh, so they are joining the event after all. I wonder if that triggers the unique scenario for them as well or not.

This is only getting more interesting! I have no idea how Hizutome is going to juggle the e-sports event and the Ctarnidd special stage, but when a pro player owes you a favor, you don't waste it; both Hizutome and Pencilgon know that.

And of course, no pirate-themed story is complete without some stowaways! But now I'm wondering: how strong are those sailors if they managed to carry a barrel with Psyger-0 inside?

Sunraku had finally made it to Rust and Mold in the fifteenth city! It took fighting the night wolf again but we're here. Sunraku was right that this dock yard area looks sketchy as hell compared to the rest of the city. But with this being the fifteenth it makes sense things would get rougher since you'd have to be pretty good to make it this far. Luckily it didn't take long to find Rust and Mold brawling with npcs, more so Rust but still. All that commotion made them easy to find, Rust has a short temper but she was actually just doing what was needed to activate that unique scenario again. Sunraku with his scars constantly scaring the bar npcs was funny, they were all just terrified of him. Even the pirate captain they needed to meet was shook, that kid was quite literally trembling. Sunraku having A bit too much fun tormenting the kid. But he still got the unique scenario quest activated. Heading off the ship until not only Rei but Akitsuakane and Ceecrue being dropped off in ship barrels. How in the hell did they get here. We'll see how far Sunraku can get into this quest before he's gotta go off to that gaming competition with Oikatzu and Pencilgon.

I guess the next episodes will be about the best arc of the manga series or at least it will start in season two and we will see the rest in s3. The rest of th episode was perfect. I guess they didn't acquire the agreement from the copyrights for the Flying Dutchman name of the ship

Just when I thought Rei would step away for a while, and Akane too for that matter, they both ended up being stowaways for Sunraku's unique scenario. With both of them being strong they may end up being helpful at least, assuming Rust and Mold are fine with the 2 additions.

Also, with Oikatzo asking for Sunraku's and Pencilgon's help for a RL event, I wonder what it will cost him as I'm sure Sunraku and especially Pencilgon will make him pay.

@Yubisoft the flying Dutchman as a myth is public domain, anyone can reference or use it in any story without copyright fees. The only issue you could have in a copyright regarding the myth is if you blatantly rip off pre-existing renditions of the ship from existing art/media. The name/general use of the myth is fair game tho.

A global game competition, could Sunraku and his friends go on a tour in another game? Haha, Sunraku meets Rust and Mordo, where they talk about the mission and already have the invitation for the new unique scenario. Captain Stud will probably be the one to guide them to face Ctarnidd. Out of nowhere, Psyger 0 and AkitsuAkane also show up and will probably form a party.

@Yubisoft haven't read the Manga so I wouldn't/didn't know they changed the name. I forgot Japan does have a different set of copyright laws especially regarding public domain. I suppose there could be some reason they changed it if the artist didnt agree or something. As a myth tho it's actual origin is unknown dating back as far as the late 1600s. The Flying Dutchman's not exactly copyritable as a story concept, but existing art and media renditions of it are. Maybe the artist or writer didn't agree with/ on some things the anime chose for the ships design. Their design could of also too closly resembled an existing artists depiction of it and had to change the name to keep the design. Or they could of just decided to change the name just because 🤷 It's a good question for an AMA or convention I guess.

@Yubisoft Probably because it's known-adjacent/homage instead of being a blatant ripoff. It's the same name in the manga btw, so it's not like it was changed for the anime.

@Hot-Pantaloons Yeah the question was kind of rhetorical because I ask the impossible here since none of us have access to the production of the anime and the publisher as to why even the manga had the same name. Interesting theories you got there. Thanks for the feedback!!

This was such a good episode. I wonder what Akane ended up telling Rei-shi about getting a vorpal bunny. I liked seeing the irl stuff, I do hope that aspect gets a little more focus as this season continues. The bar scene was great and so was the scene in Rabituza. This episode had so much packed into it. This was an awesome episode and maybe the one I had the most enjoyment with from this season.

This is the same question that I had. Since they only showed him checking the time limit, I am assuming that it resets once he takes the armor off, but what would keep him from removing it and putting it back on every 3 minutes other than the hassle of having to do it.

These are all directly connected with the sea, piracy and adventure. It was much more important for them to add the exact name for additional immersion than the anime above. But why it is suddenly a problem if
