A group of people living in the same place while being not quite alive or dead with amnesic guests? Seems like Haibane Renmei but less depressing.
@eblf2013 MAL just showed me your recommendation. Seems a bit tonally different from Haibane from what I gathered from the trailer.

@BlackScout Yeah the concept of the cause of death being a mystery is similar but the execution and tone is different. Tasokare seems, idk, sillier?

Have you seen Haibane Renmei (I ask because I'm not certain if your point of reference is the trailer, as I'm not sure if you're referring to the trailer for that series or this one)?

It's definitely different tonally and in some other ways, but at the same time, there aren't very many anime which share this unique and highly specific premise to begin with. The other series it will also always inevitably be compared to, one which was already previously recommended, is Death Parade, and having seen both of those series in full (and all the released episodes currently out of Tasokare Hotel), it's probably a little bit closer to that one, but there is one major difference in the nature of the whole premise and setup between Tasokare Hotel and those two series, having to do with the issue of life and death.

But it makes sense - no set of two series even when recommended for fans of each other will ever be an identical 1:1 without distinguishing features which set them apart, or else they'd be a carbon copy with no point of even being made (part of the reason why I don't like needless remakes). But just having the premise and nature of both of their main settings being what they are probably qualifies the recommendation/comparison on that basis alone.

It's like if there were two shows about life on a terraformed human colony on Mars. They might otherwise be very different shows with a lot to distinguish them and make both worth watching even if you've already seen one. But their setting is just too specific not to be compared.

Really liking this after the first episode, the synopsis is really intriguing. After reading some of the comments it seems I need to check out Death Parade if it's anything like this.

The pace seemed pretty good to me, enough information was given to pique my interest and want to find out more without zooming through and trying to explain as much as possible in the first episode. I imagine it's hard to find that balance between how much is just enough to get someone to come back but not too much that everything feels rushed.

I hope this series continues to deliver because I am enjoying what I've seen so far.

@WatchTillTandava Yeah I did finish Haibane Renmei. Good points by the way!
I'll hold off for now and see if it makes sense to watch it at a later date.
