Takumi meeting new people in a new town looks like something that is just supposed to happen.

Out of all the cast he's met so far though, it does seem Sofia is hardest to get along with. But then again, he managed to make the best of whta he can do with his abilities. Nothing really special about this episode but at least Sofia does have a softer side.

I was totally overlooking Takumi's friendly interaction streak. I didn't even think about the possibility that he was being helped by the goddess as a tutorial. It's nice to see someone taking a hands on approach to get their world back on track.

I was a bit concerned with how fast Takumi learned and figured everything out in the beginning of the show, but i seem to be liking it more and more for each episode. This was a bit of a slower episode which was quite nice, we got to meet some more of our main cast too. I can't say i'm super invested in the other storyline that is building up in the background with our other summons, but that will become more prominent later so hopefully i'll end up enjoying that too. I guess i just want to watch people do dumb stuff and have fun in the other world, oh well. Looking forward to next week.

There has got too be better ways to level up your healing other than cutting yourself in a secluded shed. Good golly

It's the first time I see MC's luck explained by goddess intervention. I hope what she said is true and things will become challenging in the future.
I like this show so far. I feel Tensura vibes. Maybe it's simple and naive, but it's comforting to watch. And I see potential for good world building.

Now here is an anime that had a few misunderstanding and an argument start because she wanted to protect her friend, but then had communication and an honest explanation follow to clear it up.

This is what those anime building constant misunderstandings and absolutely no communication lack, making it like beating a dead house, it gets frustrating annoying after a few episodes.
Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

Fairs I was so close to just turning this show into mindless background noise, but Sofia and Maria showing up has saved it. Sofia especially is so pretty! Wouldn’t be a seasonal fantasy show without the buying gorgeous and secretly OP slaves trope. Can understand Sofia being skeptical about Iruma given how casual and frankly nice he is.

Hopefully things get more interesting now that his convenience gimmick has worn off and inconvenient things can happen. Especially with two other heroes from Japan in the mix!

I get why Iruma has issues with slavery, as most people are generally against it, and it seems this system of slavery is slightly more complicated within Bolton. Some are prisoners trying to make amends, some are war prisoners, others are trying to pay off a debt. From a business perspective I get why Iruma went along with attaining both Maria and Sofia Sylphid since he does need to keep certain things confidential, especially now that his beginner tutorial in this world is coming to an end (which explains why certain things were easy for him).

Sofia has an attitude likely due to the burden of her curse and the fact that Mulan has not let a single person acquire her before Iruma, and I was confident he could get rid of her curse. I DIDN’T EXPECT HIM TO TAKE CARE OF IT IN THIS VERY EPISODE, and now she’s loyal to Iruma for the rest of her life.

Maria was comedic in assuming that Iruma wanted to sleep with her, which reminds me. It seems there are some boundaries been slaves and their masters that can’t be crossed, which makes this more moral in comparison to other series. Obviously Iruma won’t treat them like objects, so Sofia and Maria won’t have to worry.

It seems the three heroes in Akira, Yamato, and Akane are progressing in their own ways (one year after Iruma spawning in Mildgard in case you forgot). Akane doesn’t trust Elizabeth, and I get it. She seems suspicious to say the least.

What does Iruma plan to do next? Will he create an empire of sorts? Since Sofia’s curse has been broken, does this mean that Iruma won’t do any fighting? I’m excited for the possibilities.

I'm pretty sure the "one year later" statement from the Goddess was not talking about the guy and the elf, rather it was referring to her looking at 2 of the 3 heroes standing on that hill/cliff

@kta_99 all they had to do was phrase it as magical job contract and it would serve the same purpose without it being cringe. But no, target audience is average incel so there has to be a harem in which every member falls in love with him while he's too afraid to say their names, let alone touch them.

@phantomfandom simply put target audience wouldn't like it. Average harem enjoyer loves these situations where they have number of different girls all with different physical and character traits to chose from, all of whom are madly in love with this perfect blue eyed character who never stepped on a flea let alone ever hurt a human being. And yet they can't pronounce girls names without shaking like koala shitting from the tree. Weird type of power fantasy. Like he could totally pick and chose any of them to have sex with but he's a good guy so he doesn't have to.

Am totally expecting girls to become thirsty in next few episodes to further push the cliche. And then at some point accept that he's allowed to have other girls as long as he has them as well.

@MeanEYE If writers are so insistent on having slavery, they could at least try to explain it away. In Shield Hero you could legitimately say he's forced into it. In some series, the protagonist is enough of an antihero that you could believe they'd justify it to themself. But this is a nice guy who literally said he doesn't want slaves, and then he just... decides it's OK? They don't even really provide an argument. The conversation basically goes like this:

"You should buy some slaves."
"But I don't like slavery."
"Slaves are useful to have, and we have rules so you're not allowed to torture or murder them."
"I am now fine with literally owning people."

So the slaves aren’t quite what they seemed after all, although they still apparently have unwilling slaves captured by bandits lol, but Maria and Sofia seem like they’ve been treated well all this time based on their interactions with the owner Mulan, so that’s good at least, and their treatment by Takumi has been first class so far as well. And I really like the two of them, the first moment with Maria was very funny when she was surprised Takumi was okay not sleeping with her lol, I thought the voice acting was especially great, and although Sofia was prickly at first, the moment she was cured by Takumi she melted like butter, I’m interested in seeing how she performs in combat, which may be coming soon with those teases of the “heroes” that were also isekai’d.

Also, it’s interesting to find out that Takumi has basically been in tutorial mode so far with all the friendly interactions he’s had, I’ve seen so many shows where the MC is treated so nicely by everyone that I thought it was normal, but not in this show apparently lol, I doubt this means Takumi will have a lot of trouble all the sudden but I like this reveal.

Well.. So far this seems to be one of the better isekais i've seen this season.
Tho i have to say this episode saved it from joining the trash bin if it had continued with the happy go lucky, everything is easy and everyone is nice. I do hope tutorial is actually over now, it doesn't have to be full on combat but at the very least his business ventures should get some pushback, alongside the overarching other hero's will be brainashed and evil religion plot of course.

The bandits/thieves forced people into slavery part being included in an attempt to make slavery ethical is a little odd tho....
I'm fine with slavery when it's ethical and no morally questionable things are allowed. If it's pretty much an absolute NDA and employment contract it's fine.

Kinomi Master and Botsuraku Yotei no Kizoku dakedo being utter trash and I tried Salaryman ga Isekai but just can't get into how dumb the premise of a salaryman adviser is.
Does Nihon e Youkoso Elf-san count as an isekai, if it does i quite enjoyed it so far but too early to tell.

Anyhow, this seems to shine brighter than it might deserve so far but only time will tell.

Disappointingly zero focus on alchemy and 100% focus on building his harem via literal slavery, which they try desperately to make not evil, because it's OK if their master is shy and polite, or something?

They also lean heavily on the whole "it's necessary because he needs to hide his skills!" There are plenty of anime and other media with spells which prevent someone from telling another person's secrets without them having to be slaves. This show wanted slavery. Let's not pretend it's not slavery.

One sales pitch and MC was like, "I'll take two!!"
Can that many writers have "get slaves" as an item on the fantasy to-do list? Like, it's a world you're making up. You can just. . . maybe not do a slavery? or not have your MC do a slavery? or not the to put an ethical coat of paint on slavery?

I understand all the fantasies about being appreciated by everyone, or relaxing on a farm as a contrast to real life bad bosses and crazy work hours with constant crunch, but this reissue of slavery, especially making soon okay, is jarring.

Creatives are using huge amounts of energy making their slavery palatable instead of, idk, just doing something else. Party magic for people in battle or just a job for people working on the house. NDAs are a real world thing. You could just have some NDA magic to keep your secret. But by continuing to use slavery and building it into a trope of the genre, a shocking number of people don't even flinch at it. Comments are all just about "cute elf" and "the story acknowledged how easy the start was!!"

When I saw the amount of comments I thought the show was being quite liked, only to find that many of the comments were about the slavery part... classic xD.

Anyway, I finally decided to watch it and catch up and I must say I am really enjoying this show. It's a fun and nice watch.

Sora Amamiya, Ai Kayano, Nao Touyama... Not gonna lie, they were the ones that drew me to watch the show in the first place haha.

I really like the goddess, I love her design and she is very cute. I love Sora Amamiya voicing her and how she is the complete opposite of Aqua haha.

It's always great to hear more from Ai Kayano, especially with a more main role. I'm happy for that.

And of course, I'm so damn weak to Nao Touyama's voice <3. I can't help it, she sounds so damn cute! I think Maria is going to be my best girl if she isn't already.

Looking forward to more!

I am loving this show. The MC might be a bit lacking, but overall, he’s fine. His new slaves, who are technically slaves but seem more like party members, are interesting characters in their own right. I am looking forward to seeing how the other characters who were summoned are going to do. The girl seems very smart; she already knows that the nation that summoned them is not a good place with good leaders.

The show has, thus far, proven to have no stakes. Any problems the protagonist encounters are easily solved, inlcuding Sophia's suspicions about her new master being up to no good. Obviously, everyone knows that Takumi is a good lad but someone with a relatively unknown past and lack of verified information is definitely gonna raise some alarm bells.

The topic of "slave" sure is still highly debated huh.

Like half of ppls already accepted fantasy slavery in anime, while the other half talks about ethics based off of our world.

.

I am about half. While I do agree slavery is wrong, but it's so common in fantasy anime, it's normal to always assume there would be slavery.

And this episode also touched on the topic that slaves are used as "lewd activity". Since the orange hair girls instantly jumps straight to "sleep" topic, which suggests this type of activity is common place for slaves to do. (if not the main point of slaves)

.

But MC is already used to being the "Master". LOL

Also... the Goddess said "I don't bother with human activity", but take peeks at them anyways, LOL.
