What do we think of the show so far?

I binge watched season 1 and 2 (what was released of it so far) over the weekend on a whim.

Usually I know if I like a show or not after a few episodes but this one is... confusing.

Like, it has pacing issues but I REALLY want to give it a chance to find it's footing. Not sure why so I wondered what others thought of it.

That Katarina sensei doesn't understand what a video game is the season 1 is full of leap of logic that can't happen normally in video game. The whole time I had the impression sensei was laughing at my 24 years of gaming. Would have been better either a fantasy or a isekai but not a video game.

Pacing issues? The pacing is on point with the manga's and I guess you feel that way cause this season is gonna cover about 3 arcs with this final one about Lycagon's X being the highlight and final one.
Plus some of them were short e.g., the Nephilim Hollow Arc.

I was actually thinking of dropping it during the first few episodes of season 1, but then it grasped me so much, it hasn't left me since, personally, I think this is absolute cinema

Well I guess the lycagon part here did come out of nowhere, but I guess that's mmo rpgs, you can never know what's gonna happen

Also, it's got the gamer speech just like log horizon season 2, I love that

I've been watching the Dub and I'm loving that aspect the most. He actually said "Press F in chat" when a player died, that's just funny.

Agree with the Lycagon, I guess they need to kick start it with something but it's an odd mcgaffin.

I think my issue with it that they placed an exploit hunter in a game with no exploits so he ends up playing it straight. I'm liking the scorpion hunt atm because he's actually thinking up exploits for that one and they're making the fight far more fun that "please endure this for X minutes"

It's basically SAO but better. It doesn't have that cringy forced drama and awful romance, which was probably the biggest issue in SAO. People here are just enjoying the game and it's a good thing. This show knows that it is and does not try to pretend to be something that it isn't. Good ride.

I’m really enjoying this more each week. The way the gaming is advanced enough to be fully immersive must mean that the computing power of the system is capable of highly intelligent monster and npc AI so I have no problem accepting the blurred line between players and npcs and even the way Lycagon conceals her true abilities. This is a game I would live in 20 hours a day. I enjoyed GGO using live players disguised as npcs last few eps, and now we have SLF npcs showing human levels of cunning. The writers of these 2 shows are earning their pay!

You can clearly see that the author of this series has played mmorpgs. I'm enjoying this anime a lot and wish that we had this kind of an mmorpg to play these days (minus the vr part).

loving it, i don't regret picking up s1 back in fall of last year
s2 feels like s1 never ended which is amazing

I'm absolutely enjoying it. The AI feels like it's evolving while everyone seems to be ignoring it. There's a sense of mystery in the Shangri-La story although I think I know what happened already with all the clues. I normally don't like action anime, I'm really glad I gave this a try.

it's SAO except you remove the story, interesting characters and themes and only keep good animation and OST

@Saimatsu_Fan you have to wait a little because it's 500 words essay I wrote about how bad that thing with example and spoilers and write in furry after finishing season 1 and I modified it a little after talking to my coworker who also a gamer and I wanted to shoot his tv by how illogical that show was and for him it was only his third anime and he didn't even finish because ironically he end up thinking the same thing as me even if I waited his view on the show before exposing my point to not spoil him. So be patient.
