Jesus fucking christ, how many times do these characters are going to supposedly die? so many asspulls and ugly ass transformations, why does that guy suddenly look like a chicken? Will that ugly chicken guy finally stay dead? or will it revive again with another ass-pull UNO reverse card bullshitery? and it just happens that the captains they are fighting have exactly what they need to beat those guys, otherwise, they would be invincible because they just won't fucking die, but every character has exactly the shit they need to win and they always pull it out straight out of their asses.

If it wasn't for the great animation and production I would have dropped this but yeah, this is weak writing and it's being carried out by the animation.

I... I just want to see Kenpachi fight. Me and my friend waited until we had 8 episodes to watch, and our reward were 2 episodes of drum-rolling, then 6 episodes of a few really cool fights but finishing it off with an immortal "god" that can only be defeated by something that can only defeat a god. So like..? I... I am pretty underwhelmed by these last 8 episodes overall.

For me, I just want to see Kenpachi fight. I barely remember anything about the characters currently being shown. This was well animated and everything but like... the premise of him being "undefeatable except by the thing that defeats the undefeatable" felt very, very silly. I couldn't really take the fight seriously.

I was not a fan of lille transformation in the manga but in the anime how they portrayed it make me like it more.

@Prox1mately Kenpachi only has 1 more fight and it's in cour 4.

Kyouraku and Nanao 's backstory is really interesting. It was one of my favorites! There were clues back then that their past was hiding something. Their Zanpakutos stories are tied in a special way. I am looking forward to the next episode!

@lucjan I mean, they could kinda still end Gerard's mid-of-fight on episode 14 as well, because both Friend and God of Thunder could possibly be adapted in one episode each, considering cour 2's pacing. That would give us some Kenny for this season still.

@Danpmss I find this unlikely but I've been surprised before so I guess we'll see.

The most laid back chilled guy having the most responsibilites on him with addtion to pain and death of loved ones from the past.

Love how he carried both his brother and sister in laws pin on him as a sign of carrying their wishes with him eventually passing on them to nanao.

Nanao did well considering her first serious fight and handling a zanpaktou, killing a "god" with gods power. symbolic indeed. Lilles second form was terrifying, kubos designs are just so good.

Great episode.

Oh wow so that's why all this time we never saw Nanao-chan fight with Zanpakuto.
I remember she always using Kido.

What a beautiful episode.

You've gotta be kidding me, I'm not a fan of Kyorauku-like characters I often find 'em overrated, predictable and even kind of boring but this episode was amazing!!!
Even better than the same chapters in the manga, and that's something I won't say often, at all.
The art and animators did a superb work, and the direction really made everything to depict Kyoraku, Nanao and their stories/relatives/relationship at their best!

Shunsui's life has been others burdening him with their precious possessions again and again, yet he pushes through even when his loved ones and his family members die one by one. Such an irony that the captain with the most relaxed demeanour and an ever-lingering smile is one who holds a massive amount of weight on his shoulders. When Yamamoto died and Shunsui became the head captain, that weight grew to encompass the entirety of Soul Society and to an extent, everything related to souls. He earned more than just a bit of rest, but duty calls...

No wonder why Shunsui has always been so supportive and caring for Nanao, more than the other captains for their lieutenant. After all, Nanao is Shunsui's niece and he is her uncle. The only family member still alive no doubt. That Ise family curse is despicable. The only good thing it ever amounts to is the possession of the Shinken Hakkyōken, quite literally a GOD-slaying Zanpakuto! Like DAMN, 1 massive slice and the entity with Godly power is vaporized, completely and utterly.

Seeing Shunsui behind Nanao, supporting her grip on the Shinken Hakkyōken was adorable. At this moment when she has to fight an enemy head-on for the first time, one with Godlike power no less, Shunsui alone will be the one to guide her to their victory. Fantastic episode!
