Well, let’s see,
> Losing in doubles
> Losing in singles… to someone who’s going to be a longtime rival in this series
> Haryu somehow making it to nationals
>Chinatsu making it to nationals as well with her team
>Dealing with exams right after dealing with aforementioned things

So yeah, Taiki really had a field day getting fucked up in every possible way. Though hey, I guess someone like Chinatsu looking after you when you’re at your lowest can cheer anyone up… in more ways than one( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)

Chinatsu is so damn cute ugh I feel so disloyal for going back and forth between she and Hina every week lmao but this was her time to shine. Taiki still being down about the loss is understandable considering all the work he put into it and how he and Chinatsu hyped each other up to both get to inter-high, but hey, setbacks are apart of the process and it’s not about how many times you fail, but how many you get back up.

It’s so cute how Chinatsu noticed he didn’t have a goal listed on the team board and made sure to encourage him to keep going and learn from the loss. One thing I notice is he keeps comparing himself to Chinatsu, but you gotta remember she went thru her L’s and trials and tribulations already which is why she’s shining now. Taiki is young and he’ll grow from it.

I love how protective of him she is ❤️ and just when you’re about to forget this is a shonen series they give us the good old couple falls awkwardly on each other trope with fanservice angles. One of my least fave tropes in a romance story, but Chinatsu did look so pretty there

It really boiled all to that moment when Chinatsu touching his head, and the world made sense again for Taiki ... Almost like if a separate story was happening parallelly within this episode, and the main character of that stroy was Chinatsu.

She obviously wanted to talk to Taiki about his game, but Taiki went all gloom and doom end of the world, and so she said .. "thats it, im going in".

Next week mom's gonna enter the room, 5 bucks.

Finally I saw the other side of Hina-sama that study hard for english exam and when she is in the class.

I really like the bonding between Chinatsu-Taiki like in this episode. Again and again Chinatsu provides motivation for Taiki.

oh, I'm curious whats happen in the next episode, I really hold myself to not read the manga. because I want to get the first experience watching the anime.

Come on Taiki-Chinatsu's ship begins to sail?

They lost and had to set new goals. Chinatsu gets to play in the inter-high.

What a cliffhanger! It would be an agonising week if Chinatsu kisses him or not but more likely not.

Magnificent, fuck the sensible stuff lets just end the episode with an unnecessary slapstick fall cliffhanger, its amazing how the romance anime space got so comfortable with taking such cheap shortcuts to character and plot development that its prevalence feels like the norm.

While the episode overall was good I thought it was silly that Chinatsu "dove" to try to save Taiki from his fall.... onto his bed. Yeah I'm sure he would've been fine landing there but it served as a personal moment between them. Having said that maybe Chinatsu forgot that Taiki is sick so hopefully she doesn't get sick herself.

@Jappie33 Netflix is releasing its episodes 1 week after international release, it's not on you.

That's why this is one of the few anime this season that I have to set sail to be up-to-date, unfortunately. I thought I left this life years ago...

Anyone else think they really do justice to the food in this anime? That bowl of udon with soup and just cut spring onions looked healthy and delicious.

But the cliffhanger at the end, aaaarrrrggh!

Not somehow, runner-up also go to Inter-High if you really watch previous episodes. Also about Taiki losing is more reasonable than if he's winning cause he's still green in many ways and this is for his development even Haryu still lose with his longtime rival and i feel worse about this than Taiki losing.

@joshlill Ah! I see the asylum is on lunch break, I would've thought my commenting on an anime episode forum would emphasise that I am an anime only on this story but I suppose you just had to squeeze the famed "quit yapping" in there, I don't understand the bird brained method of slander rather engaging someone in civil discourse, so be warned if you act a fool on my opinions I will crash out and double down.

Taiki feeling down about his loss at badminton is perfectly understandable. His goal will be tough to get to and setbacks like the one he suffered can happen again, but it's part of the process of seeing how he will bounce back and try again with everything that he has got.

While he was a little unfortunate to come down with a fever, it did give Chinatsu a chance to take care of him and also be able to voice her own opinion in a way that supports Taiki and he found it really encouraging. Of course, they did have to sneak a classic trope of Chinatsu trying to catch him as he stumbled, resulting in her being on top of him on his bed and I'm not complaining one bit about it at all! XD

I'm expecting their interactions in the next episode to be more on the awkward side considering how this episode ended.

I feel bad about Taiki’s poor health condition! He was sick, but he shouldn’t worry, because he’s having Chinatsu by his side.
The last scene was intense, I waited so much for them to finally kiss and confess their true feelings. It’s quite clear that they love each other, but don’t have the courage to admit it.

I've recently come back to watching anime on a daily basis and i am so damn glad i have stumbled upon this masterpiece of an anime!
It is so surreal how some of these animes can have this big of an impact in your life and upon the way you feel!
I had no expectations prior to watching this anime, although it has no action whatsoever, the story itself, the plot keeps you involved and captivated each second it goes by!
And the way it has helped me realize some things at the same time it's just amazing, something that i have not experienced in so long, especially from an anime!
I absolutely recommend this anime to anybody, whether it's your first time trying new things out or you've been here for quite some time, totally a must-watch!

Seriously, I love this anime so much. It always feels me with so much determination and positivity. I was worried this week the episode would not be released again with the english subs, but we're here!
Anyways, I really loved the cinematic feeling of this episode. It completely fitted with the more moody episode this one was, after the dramatic episode from last week. Seeing Taiki having a hard time feels natural, considering his hopes and goals, and comparing it to the reality (and the last minute study for the exams was really relatable, I literally have exams in a bit more than a month, and I barely studied at all).
Taiki getting sick and Chinatsu taking care of him was cute, and I don't care it's a really used trope in anime, it's still cute to see Chinatsu being worried about Taiki (in fact, this the 2nd anime of this season that I'm watching that uses this trope, and I'm only watching 3 animes this season, so yeah, that's interesting, it's the 2nd time these 2 animes use the same tropes, first with the aquarium date, now this xD).
But before that, can we talk how Hina was sad to hear that Taiki wasn't talking to Chinatsu, even though Chinatsu is her "competition"? Hina really is such a great character, and Kyou is testing the field for his bro Taiki too. Really wished they give more screentime to Kyou in the future.

The talk between Taiki and Chinatsu at the end was heartwarming, and it seems like it helped Taiki to ease his mind, and to fall even deeper in love for Chinatsu.
And, ok, yes, the final scene where Chinatsu was trying to hold Taiki from falling on the floor had some questionable physics and may be forced, BUT I DON'T CARE, WE DESERVE THIS MOMENT AFTER 9 EPISODES. It gave some romantic tension that the episode needed, and yes, Chinatsu is not going to kiss Taiki, but still, by the end of the episode, you can't help but start screaming "KISS, KISS, KISS"!

Overall, I really loved the episode, it was so cinematic and beautiful, and they really ended with a cliffhanger, and I can't wait for the next episode!

Taiki living with someone who made it to the nationals while he didn't in the same house must feel hellish. He's lucky it's his crush. If it was like Haryu or something it would've been way worse.

I know these main character gets sick so their love interest takes care of them is extremely cliche at this point but I still like to see it, especially when you actually like the characters. That cliffhanger tho. That was weird. I know they'll get interrupted by some bullshit timining because that's how the trope always goes but I'm really confused about what Chinatsu is trying to do here.

Final exams are the bane of many a athelete. After prepping for it for so long its not that easy to get over the fact of not making the cut. Writing out and pinning their goals to the wall was a nice move. The contrast between the studying and the practice was nicely done. Damm Chinatsu being able to cook was a pleasant surprise. The talk between the two was perfect but man what a way for that scene to end.
