if you're watching Natsume for the Plot then you're doing it wrong.

it's an Iyashikei anime, every Ep is Episodic as you know and they're Entertaining as you said.
and that's the way.
the story of the Book and his Grandma sure is interesting and I also want to see it unfold but we have to wait until the author decides to stop.

and about the page of the book that's not our concern 🗿

@past_feelings i get it, it's just.. the latest anime release was 2018 you know?
it takes 6 years (which is for me long enough) to release a new season of the anime

are we going to make it to the last episode :))

You watched 6 Seasons of Natsume Yuujinchou and still didn't understand the format. LMAO.

Episodic series, go with the flow, if you're that interested in reading it for the story progress then try catching up with the Manga and see if that scratches your itch. >_^

I was just gonna ask “there’s an overall story arc?” I love that this show is so episodic, I get to check in with Natsume and friends and I know everything will be resolved in 20 mins. Beautiful palate cleanser and has become one of my faves

This is not an anime that really has a linear plot

I'm surprised by the sheer number of people saying there's no linear plot or story progression.

As far as I could tell from the PV for this season, quite a bit has been and will be revealed about the book of friends and world of exorcists and youkai. I figured it was pretty obvious that Midorikawa progresses the story bit by bit rather than doing a continuous dump of information or elongated scenes of exposition. Even the prior seasons and the movie followed that formula; we watch Natsume grapple with his involvement with a side of his life he's been trying to avoid for most of his years while maintaining a lasting relationship with the people currently in his life. And in the midst of doing all of that, we'll typically see something new being found out, or personal progression being made on Natsume's end.

Progression is there, and there's a linear plot. It's slow, but it's there. It may be more apparent to the general population with this season and the current place the manga is at though.

I don't care. I'll watch anything Natsume Yuujinchou related and love it. Real comfort show.

I will be discussing what has happened in s7 so far. I'll try to be as brief as possible, but there will be spoilers for anyone who hasn't seen the season yet :)

There has been some subtle progression. Though not as much as less episodic shows.

If anyone knows how to tag spoilers I'd love to know

You need to type [spoiler] then add your text and at the end type [/.spoiler] ("." Is not needed. Just type /spoiler at the end.
Result will be this:
