| I didn't watch the first seasons of tower of god or slime isekai, and for obvious reasons I'm not going to bother with uzumaki or blue lock S2- which I really loved its first season so yeah was bummed out to hear that it turned out the way that it did. I HAVE watched Isekai Suicide Squad and Ninja Kamui, both flopped hard, but I easily prefer one of the other. Suicide Squad had a lot going for it, wit studio, and just the very premise was enticing. But it was pretty sh*t right from the start. However, the later episodes were actually not absolutely terrible. That episode where they raid that fortress? Crazy. Still messy and probably not what we were expecting, but still crazy. The whole season should've have that same energy. Left me with a feeling that it wasn't COMPLETELY awful as a whole. Forgot if a season 2 was announced for it, but I'd watch it if there is going to be one. Ninja Kamui, on the other hand, didn't have as much publicity to start with, I don't think. So when we saw those first couple of episodes, everyone was blown away. Hidden gem. Anime of the season maybe?? Uh, no. It used up all of its energy sprinting at the start of the race and just after a few episodes it sizzled out and everything slowed down to a sluggish walking pace. Heck not even that- it fell flat on its face and crawled its way to the finish line where almost no one was waiting to see it finish. Except people like me who had SOME hope that they were saving something big for the finale. You know, start strong and finish strong, it's ok if it was pure sh*t in the middle. But nope not even the end had anything good, just more cgi mechs, half-assed backgrounds, annoyingly basic plot, and janky camera movements that make you sick. All love and care was poured in the first two or so episodes. After that, if it was a staff change or whatever, well they just up and left for the rest of the show to be forgotten forever. So yeah I'd prefer the show that is sh*t from the start and arguably got better toward the end rather the one that starts out AMAZING in the beginning and becomes downright AWFUL not even halfway through all the way till the end. So yeah, Ninja Kamui gets my vote for biggest flop of the year. Still might try and pick up Blue Lock though, MAYBE it's not as bad as people say? Like sure the animation is a power-point presentation in an ACTION SPORTS anime, but maybe I'm coping here and the characters and writing and stuff remain somewhat interesting...?? idk man |

| Yea, probably Ninja Kamui or that Isekai vtuber collab trash. Like with Blue Lock s2, EVERYONE knew it was gonna be bad from the previews and it doesnt seem to affect sales in Japan. ToG2 and Tsensura s3 are ass, but they still have their fanbases. Uzumaki is just niche and only the niche lovers hyped it up. |
