| okay this episode turned the entire narrative and characterization of the show on ITS HEAD. but this episode is definitely why the series got it's name. so oran freaked out when she saw her bestie kill herself (after becoming a literal monster?!) and undid that timeline since she's a shifter? or was that with the help of their little invader friend? god this show is so good i'm gonna have to read the manga fr. |

| Wait shifter as in she shifted the world not herself? Impactful episode but also messed up, showing Kadode's various acts of justice. This is why proper upbringing matters. Kids are very easily influenced and can go down the wrong path. Very well adapted too, loving the storytelling so far. |

| I used to cheer Kira (Death Note) when he killed the bad guys but whose standard are we following? Anyone can say it is good or bad. When mere human wants to become God, it always became a chaos. Makes me remember some people complain about the pain and suffering in this world and if they're God they won't allow it. It just give this false idea that we can make the world better if all bad people will be gone. If that's our goal then all of us should be dead. There's no good person. All of us make mistakes and sin. This is an imperfect world. Only God can judge us. |

| I reaaally want to like this episode especially with the sense of dread I felt knowing what would happen at the end of the flashback. But I honestly feel like it could have been done better. A lot of the emotional moments in this show aren't executed properly and lack actual substance, in my opinion. The bullying for example, or the depth of Kadode's parents neglect in the flashback, aren't really explored and one has no idea WHY anything is even happening. |

The sad part about Kadode liking their teacher is probably because she was lacking adult/parental care.

| I never made it this far in the manga, so I don't know if it was handled better there (I imagine it was), but this episode was off-putting as hell and borderline cringe, even for the guy that wrote an entire manga about an incel with chronic oneitis (<3 u Punpun). But for real this felt shallow and out of place. |

@mintkat the manga actually handled it better, there's a very important character (that felt sidelined in the anime in general) and developments that made the arc actually say something instead of being "death note with girls", it's just that crunchyroll feared that committing to the SoL of the story and tried to make it as action as it can be as fast as they can

| We're still in backstory mode, and WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK???!!!????!!! THEY MADE KADODE A MURDERER!!!! Anyway this must be what Doraemon would be if it were a more cynical show. |
