What a beautiful episode, this honestly made me tear up as someone who has traits similar to both Komari and Nukumizu. While Komari was the main focus of this episode, I could relate a lot with Nukumizu as well, deep down he cares about others and wants to help them but he just simply does not know how to do so yet, and in the process of trying he makes mistakes that he only realizes after he has hurt them. The journey of him trying to move past that and confront Komari's feelings with a more delicate sense of empathy just brought a smile to my face because while being very subtle, is actually some major character development.

My favorite scene was the one near the staircase where Komari opens up about her insecurities of being left all alone, it really made me feel bad for her, coupled with the fact that she resorted to texting to convey her true feelings was something that hit a little too close to home. It's quite clear that she has a longing to be with people and that she's afraid to be lonely but she's worried that she wont be able to make new friends or preserve her current ones due to her social skills so she's come up with this distortion that unless she's capable of doing everything by herself she will become incapable of preserving the literature club which gave her a sense of home.
What she misunderstood though, is that it never was about the literature club in the first place. It was about the people in it, the friends she made along the way and the seniors who supported her in every step.

Nukumizu's monologue on the rooftop was the icing on the cake, friendships and relationships as with most things in life may come to an end some day or the other with people going down their own roads, but those temporary connections you make are nothing short of beautiful and you should treasure them while they last. As Nukumizu said "It's kind of lonely, but that doesn't mean it all has to be sad"

i fucking love this show

I liked the idea of this arc, but it was very poorly executed, always leaving the important things aside to have scenes that were useless or out of time. If they separated the useless things for before the openings, how come they still have these nonsense during the anime too? Guys, what was the author worried about to put so much nonsense or tension-breaking? My impression after what should have been the saddest episode was that the script was really weak. I hate it, so much bullshit in this arc and the scenes that were supposed to be good were just sloppy scenes with Komari's emotions. Besides, officially, Lemon has become one of the characters I hate the most on the face of the earth. 4/10 for this anime so far. Good job to everyone involved.

After the beach episodes this show slowly turned into a drag.. it's all about komari now, with her stupid romantic issues (probably she didn't even love him, just feel lonely) and with less funny moments. Takes screen time from my favorite blue haired girl :/
Meh.. if I would have give the show a solid 9 before, now it's barely a 7. GG

Nah, I personally don't like this episode. I know she's doesn't want to be the president & she struggles with her anxiety, etc., but this doesn't justify her actions. It's just plain rude to throw a water bottle to the person who wants to help in front of many people, that's humiliating.
MC keeps asking her if she need a help, with the intention that he doesn't want Komari to get hurt, but she keeps refusing and misinterpreting his intention so MC looks like the bad guy here. Thank god this is only anime ,if that happens in real life, 100% she will get bullied, and people will badmouth her.

Also, she's so stubborn, I thought with everything that happened in the last few episodes, her interaction with others & people helped her in the club exhibit episode so she can understood that she has friends who willing to help her. BUT NO! She doesn't trust anyone besides herself. How can you have friends if you don't trust other people?
Sometimes you can't do everything by yourself, we're human. we rely on each other.

this reminds me, it also happened to me. let's say I'm a project leader in my office. I know I can do it & try my best to be a good leader, but I'm human. I will make errors and sometimes can't make decisions by myself, so I need someone to back me up. That's why and one of the reason VICE LEADER exist.

One of most well-written anime episodes of any kind I've ever seen.

Simple, touching and utterly sweet.

Amazed Makeine hasn't ended up with better ratings, as it's easily in the Top 3 of the season.

Damn, I've went through things like Komari so this episode is painfully relatable and I cried a lot watching it.

It does suck when you got left alone then feel like you have this responsibility to take care of everything; and even after you give all your best, you still gained nothing but the result that betrays your hard work. I'm happy that Komari have Nukumizu and everyone beside her, but at the same time I feel kinda jealous. I just wish there were someone or some people who are willing to support me back then, just like they did to Komari.

The dialogue and characterization are so on-point in this episode. Truly beautiful. Love it.

Can't get enough of Anna. She's so cute. Her smug faces, etc. But also her voice is addicting. Kudos to her VA.

Anna entering the club like she did was both cool and amusing.

Even if she has never been a personal favorite character (and even if there is no one to dislike), Komari accidentally making a fool of herself at the meeting was PAINFUL. Knowing myself and how "good" i do under pressure, it was like looking in a mirror. Plus, i couldn't watch this scene with a worse timing than this one and this exact moment of life.

Sort of happy ending on the rooftop and the group chat Line twist was nice, but damn her suffering was hurting hard, writing by experience.

Watched this anime when the hype was gone. At least, I'm not following the bandwagon that people put this show on pedestal more than it deserved and trying to put this anime as one of the hidden gem due to a very weak summer season. Back to the episode, She already fine with delegating task previous episode but now this episode she seems to have this problem again and with intense dislike to someone who concerned with her. Cannot understand the best girl shout from people tbh. Yeah, she's working to fix her problem, that's admirable. But, she should know her limit and delegate to her subordinate for this till she got the hang of it. She don't want to be alone but end up doing the opposite. Man, her luck is good since MC is such a pushover, and put all the blame of that issue on himself and in the end even placating her.
I cannot bring myself to rate anime that I have completed below 5. Well, it just because I have use up my precious time to watch it. so, the worse you will get from me is 5 (changes may apply)

Screw Komari, but also screw Nukumizu.

I am impressed with the amount of replies here praising Komari and only criticising Nukumizu.

Here's the deal: there is nothing wrong with having social anxiety, but you have to know your own limitation and accept the help from your friends when they are offering you a hand in a matter it is clear as day you are going to fail, hard. Because she is prideful, Komari is in the wrong, she can't speak to an audience and doesn't let the then vice-president do a job she can't do - at least not in such a short deadline.

Now for the MC, he should have let her "embarrass" herself, being embarrassed about something is a great opportunity to grow as a person, Komari didn't let the MC step in and that same pride was hurt when she messed everything up. Now the MC does a terrible thing, he steps in - despite her telling he wasn't supposed to do that -, so now her pride is twice trampled, she gets no respect from the Student Council and no respect from her vice-president. Even worst, what he did is saying that her choices don't matter, what she wants don't matter, because MC will do what he wants, which also goes against what MC's sister advises him earlier on.

IRL talking with Komari wouldn't go as smoothly as that, it only did here because he has the good old plot armour. In life you are able to advise those you love, but you can make their choices for them and even if they make the wrong choices, you shouldn't step in and change their decision, it is not your life. Yes, you are supposed to let them embarrass themselves, regret, get hurt, whatever, life is about experiences both good and bad, who the MC thinks he is to deprive Komari from those memories?

Poor Komari honestly I understand why she is angry at Nukumizu Honestly, it makes sense because she really wanted to be club president but i guess she didn't have the strength too, and especially after Nukumizu talking down on her at the Zoo was sort of uncalled for but it is a very easy mistake to make, But i do understand why she was angry at him but at least they made up to each other in the end. Still poor Komari. Honestly these past few episodes this anime has felt like its about the literature club rather than losing heroines.

Komari tries to fulfil the role of president that was given to her by her senpai by doing everything herself, turning down offers from Nukumizu to have the reading of the activity report delegated to him.

To help her practice, Yanami and Nukumizu go to a petting zoo with her.

"That's because of the food. When animals really love you, it looks more like that." as demonstrated by the otter that is almoat always around him ww

Komari reading to animals instead of humans doesn't help.

Yanami's backwards dieting logic. www

Komari tries speaking to just Nukumizu but can't do it despite all the effort she's put into practicing. With the deadline approaching fast, she's deeply offended when Nukumizu says there's no way she'll be able to.

The animated food looked so good in that udon restaurant. Bonito flakes
"I've lost two of the three kilos I gained over the summer! Isn't that great?" it's a net gain of one kilo wwww
Kaju ain't beating the brocon allegations.
Yanami ate the financier cakes Nukumizu intended for Komari as an apology 草
Even with zombie secretary backing her up at Nukumizu's request, Komari fumbles and the council skips the literature club's report. He tries to save the club by announcing himself as it's true president but it only upsets Komari.

warm water got hit with a water bottle.

She's by the fire escape and although Nukumizu is there in person, she tells Nukumizu her thoughts via instant messaging, instead. He comes to realize he and Komari are different when it comes to being loners. But both of them are hesitant at calling their acquaintances friends. Nukumizu sends something that startles Komari and he switches to talking to her; telling her how much better she is at writing.

Nukumizu in Lemon's headlock!!! ain't he a lucky bastard?

They were on the lit club chat this entire time?! Without the context Lemon thought he was bullying Komari.

The message Nukumizu last sent in the group chat that moved Komari was "I'll stay with you always", he's a bit embarrassed and tries to clarify the meaning for Yanami and Yakishio.

Komari is now okay with stepping down. Now, Nukumizu just needs the paperwork.

The manner in which Komari says Nukumizu must take responsibility makes it sound like he got her pregnant or something.
