Oh the teasing this episode...

Alicia played her character role well both as herself and as a "villainess". As expected, she's tough and not only uses words but her fists and kicks to do the talking. Typical Alicia and her conflicting thoughts. It's funny how much this show uses miniature versions of herself in her mind. Duke is destined to be paired up with her.

What the heck? There is something wrong about this Saint. Who the heck tells someone not to defend themself and allow themself to be killed? That's dumb. What a stupid Saint. I feel nothing for her. She deserves to be kicked aside. I dislike this Saint more and more. She's more of a Viallian than the actual Viallianous. Alicia is top girl :)

At least I'm glad the saint is not just harmless and brainless character. That would make things too easy for Alicia. Now Alicia will witness how dangerous a blind faith can cause, it's very hard to convince people that refuse to see the truth.

But honestly the shirtless prince is the highlight of this episode.

Alicia is such a badass in this episode :) I like Duke didn't buy legend about sacred mariage mindlessy. He acts on his own will <3

I think in this moment it's obvious that roles of saint and villainess are swapped.

I was honestly so frustrated when Liz wasn’t arrested because she caused harm to the crown prince as well as being indirectly involved in the kidnapping of a student as well as nearly killing Alicia herself. She technically committed treason and in various media we have seen people arrested for a lot less

I am fairly suspicious of the saint at this point. That didn't come off like stupid innocence... rather it came off like she was trying to be malicious toward Alicia.

No way they really tried to blame Alicia for defending herself and saving Gill. Liz is genuinely unhinged and her purity gimmick is cringe as hell.

Of course the Duke had to ruin his badass action by getting undressed in bed with an underaged girl. He's been grooming her since she was a toddler at this point. That weirded me out more than Liz being delusional and blind (Alicia had once again turned the blade).
EDIT: Duplicates removed. Thanks for finally fixing the site MAL, though it seems "there was an error and your post was not submitted" was a bit misleading.

@Marinate1016

I view her as a sheltered commoner girl, with little knowledge of the wider world. She has large pure heart and good intentions, but lacks wisdom and experience. Her naive ideals and worldview are also constantly being reinforced by the band of yes-men surrounding her. I'm guessing someone is eventually going trick her into doing something wicked under the guise of doing something good.

I guess the plot for Santa will be close of another anime that I saw, that the heroin is actually someone from the real world who’s reborn and just wants to play as a villain (but villain fr lol). That smirk was highly suspicious for a saint

The ‘saint’ is certainly swapping roles with the ‘villainess’ so far. At least the kidnappers were just plain old child murderers in this show, not a hint of rapey behaviour in sight!

You know, in medieval times, the legal marriage age was 12 for girls and 14 for boys. So given that this takes place in a similar time, it fits.
Modern times, yes it's odd but sticking true to the time line, it works.

Yeah Liz has got to go. Her ideals are so unrealistic and dangerous that they almost got Alicia killed. Plus that smile while talking about the prince with her face shadowed out is definitely bad news.

Gods, they really did everything they could in Villainess to make the Heroine as stupid as possible. I haven't seen a character this ignorant of reality since reading Flag in Exile by David Weber

So at first I thought this was Liz's kidnapping, and when saw she wasn't going to be sold off decided to have her killed instead.
However apparently it's a mix of one of his simps (still kind of blaming Liz) and the King, however even if it's not Liz, she 100% failed that test by attempting to murder Alicia. Also with what she said following et cetera... Got a strong feeling Liz is the villainess in this "game" and Alicia wants to be the Villainess so badly she is blinded by this fact. While I respect her not wanting to "just" be someones wife, just be the heroine girl. Also I don't want to recheck ages but pretty sure theres a big age gap and she's 13 so... ew, like aaaaaaawwww otherwise... but ew... I'll make you even for that Ice to Liz that even froze off some of her hair.

Is Liz REALLY this ignorant or is there something else going on that I am unaware of at the moment?
Also, that wasn't a bright move on the King's part.

Oh my god, I can't stand Liz. She watched Alicia get attacked and put her in even more danger, almost getting her killed. And then she had the nerve to say that Alicia is only alive because of her faith. The worst part is Liz's group of simps. At least Duke showed up to save Alicia and put Liz and her followers in their place.

As much as Liz seems idealistic and naive on the outside, I'm starting to get suspicious of her, especially with the implication that the king was involved in Alicia's kidnapping. Alicia's training will continue and she's strong enough to take on her captors, but she really needs to surpass Liz on the magic level.

@LordJehZeus I'm aware. And such marriages were also "usually" political and not what this is hinting at. Though anime/manga tend to play that angle heavily, using the excuse of "history".

I'm all for her playing the realist vs the idealist but this was just too stupid

nobody wanted to call out Liz being so blind and most importantly, so arrogant that she unilaterally acted to prevent Alicia from protecting herself, and that action would have directly resulted in her death had another person (Duke) not jumped in at the last second (not part of Liz's plan)? WHICH STILL RESULTED IN AN INNOCENT PARTY BEING STABBED BY THE WAY, just not fatally?

I hope Alicia really takes to heart that this isn't the game storyline anymore and both she and everyone around her has agency. specifically regarding her relationship with Duke, because I ship hard enough you can call me DHL

Be cool to see Alicia break through the game's power imbalance, further proving her independence from "fate".

Alicia still found a way to shine even though she can't use magic, but seriously, somebody needs to shut that Saint up! Even the prince ain't liking her. And I have a feeling Liz is more the villain than the heroine; I still think she too is someone reincarnated from the same world as Alicia & doing something black magic voodoo to hook each & every student at the academy.

Alicia was badass

Restarting her magic is not enough she can probably beat every one of that simp army with sword too. She should have finished off those other two while at it.

Liz was always annoying but this was too much. I hate goody two shoes type and this just takes to whole another level. You shouldn't kill an "innocent" man, but you are not dead. Tffff...
I can get her army of simps but Alicia's brother literally told her he won't kill even mean his family is in danger. As Alicia said he is not worthy of a knight, he isn't worthy of being a human tbf.
Blaming Alicia who just got saved by the brink got blamed for trying to kill a attempted murder in order to rescue Gill. Sure..
This very much confirms Liz isn't a Saint and is the actual bad guy here and brainwashed this simps. Pretty sure she tried to kill Alicia too she should be trialed not sainted.

Atleast Duke had some spine to stand up for Alicia and even ready to fight Liz. He was sneering blood if he was alone with Liz, she would have been deservingly ded. He finally did something commendable except rizzing up a kid, which he still did in more extreme fashion. Why did he went shirtless what was his goal. I can give him pass as he really stood up for Alicia and saved her life. Also beat the shit out of that guy, was even ready to ditch his "destiny" with Liz in favour of Alicia too.
Father's concern was wholesome he just wanted to protect her daughter even going against king.

This show weponized against Liz well. She is playing annoying "good girl" antagonist well, even the va is doing good job for her. Alicia is one of the better MCs this season. I hope this twist of both characters doesn't make her the "good girl" here and she still stays "villainess". So far good.

Ugghh it is really hard to defend Liz, she wants everyone to get along but her way of thinking is so unrealistic. Maybe instead of using this ineffective method of testing her they should just teach/guide her from the start coz even with all those saintly powers Liz is just a commoner who unfortunately lacks not only knowledgebut also common sense

@Su_mi_ko It's jealousy that causes the brainwashing. Now I don't hate Liz but I am frustrated with how most of the main characters are written. Like for example I don't like how Duke immediately fell in love with Alicia so quickly or how he can be so indifferent with Liz, heck I don't even like how they make Liz this such pure but extremely naive persona and Alicia where she keeps acting like a villain but doesn't do a single evil thing. It's weird and like the author don't know what they're role is
