Sorry to hear you're busy with school lol. I'm somewhat busy myself but I always have this site, facebook, grooveshark and reddit on whenever I'm studying so I procrastinate a bit in the forums and stuff :P
Completely agree with you on a lot of what you said. I'm reading Bakuman right now and between waiting for the 17th manga to come out and the weekly anime episodes I'm dying of impatience. Btw isn't there a second season of Btoom coming out? I'm pretty sure it hasn't ended yet...
Elfen Lied = definite overhype.
I loved SAO for the concept but I really wished it was... BETTER. IN EVERY WAY. Still enjoyed the heck out of it though. How much better is the light novel? Or is it similar excpet for a few missing pieces?
Fate/Zero. I watched this. Then watched Fate/Stay night. Then played the visual novel. Then played and watched Tsukihime. Then watched Carnival Phantasm. Playing Fate/ Hollow Ataraxia. Result = HUGE Type Moon fan.
Accel World = I'm gonna need a lot more from you to get me to continue this. The first episode is OH GOD REALLY??? Why is the MC a pig.... The scene where he spilled the lunch the girl made for him made me pause the anime right then and there. Finished the episode like a week later. Please tell me the show gets better or else I'm just moving it to my dropped list.
P.S. Sorry if this seems like out of the blue but looks like we have pretty similar tastes and thought we could help each other recommendations/discussion wise ;)
Ano Hi Mita Hana no Namae wo Bokutachi wa Mada Shiranai - The ~Jintan~s got old pretty quick. The drama / sob moments were also very corny and felt kinda forced.
Cowboy Bebop - The story was uninteresting and so were the characters. Yeah don't know why people love it either.
Cross Game - :)
Death Note - If they ended this series right around L's death this would've been a 11/10. The second half was craptastic.
Elfen Lied - I actually really liked this anime when I watched it as my second anime ever (you read that right). The romance between Kouta and Lucy was amazing. But then I rewatched it years later and I noticed all its flaws. Still not a bad series and would recommend. Good premise, just rather meh execution.
Sukitte Ii na yo - No bullshit romance. It was what Kimi ni Todoke should've been.
Baccano! - The first few episodes are so unorganized and failed to be interesting in any way. I might pick this up in the next 5 years or so when I'm really out of good anime to watch.

I see that you're watching Chihayafuru. Mind giving me your impressions of it so far? :)
