It’s kinda difficult for any other anime this szn to stand out cuz we already got so many high profile stuff like Dandadan, Bleach, Re zero, Uzumaki and Blue box taking all the hype unless any series does something very exceptional or unique I don’t think that many of them will get any attention cuz most anime fans are already preoccupied with the above mentioned shows it’s kinda sad honestly but I’ll still be watching this cuz it’s one of the very few mangas that got the osamu tezuka grand prize.

You’re missing out Dandadan and Uzumaki both of them are great shows which are very unique in their own ways especially Uzumaki being the only good adaptation of Ito’s works, and Dandadan easily has the potential to contend for Aoty.

Honestly I really hate horror and gloomy things so Uzumaki is definitely a no go for me

Honestly? I doubt it, it doesn't have cute anime girls or waifu bait, nor it's quirky enough that people would spam gifs of it every week.

If the adaptation is good, it'll just be a hidden gem that will fly under the radar to most of the anime community. Sure, there would be some youtuber making a video about it and it'll gain some popularity, but it's going to be far from popular hit.

Of course I wish I'll be proven wrong and this show gets the attention it deserves.

The manga is quite popular in Japan, but it might be really hard for it to boom in the west, since this is basically a story about science. I know the story is just going to be the struggles of research instead of going into the actual technical parts of it, but I assume not a lot of anime fans would take interest in it. As an astronomy nerd myself I would love for it to get recognition but I doubt that it'll happen.

Already has a higher than expected score, but gaining traction and recognition while airing in a season stacked with bleach, rezero, dandadan and others will be difficult.

I can see maybe the second Cour in a less busy season be more well received.

While the Animation is better than most seinen manga adaptation, it's still nowhere popular Seinen likes Kiseijuu, AoT or Vinland Saga.

That's not how it works.

If a show wasn't good enough to draw in the big numbers in viewership in it's first cour, it's not going to increase the numbers on a second cour just because way better produced shows aren't running in that season. Take a look at Sengoku Youko, it had a weak start and it's numbers dwindled by the time it hit the 2nd season.

This show will have even less viewers by the time the 2nd cour hits because most of those who didn't settle for scraps and dark blotches of piss poor production would have moved on to watch something else.
