Ah yes, they gave Taiyo and Mutsumi bonding time in the season finale. They went through so much this mission that took everything out of them.

Mutsumi looked very pretty in her dress though. And they also forced Taiyo into a suit! Even after the all out attack in this arc, everything else in this episode felt so light. Mutsumi really look great in her dress, like a physical makeover of her character. Good anime overall, they adapted plenty with 27 episodes..

Season 2 announced!

The final spurt of the Yozakura Family to take down Kawashita and retrieve their mother, it wouldn't be Kawashita if he'd lace all of his protection all over Rei, but this is something that Taiyo faced the very first day since he entered the Yozakura Family, and that's why formation Sakura Roots is the only ideal operation with Taiyo as the key pillar to break past his limits, because he's the only one who can do it. And with every fibre of their being, all the siblings give it their all, especially Taiyo who brings the final cut to end Kawashita and his connection with the first Yozakura head, formally stopping the Seed-Sowing Project with the stoppage of the flow of Hazakura. And for once, Operation Mission: Yozakura Family - Front Lines, it's Mission Complete.

Even after all this time, Momo is only concerned about Rei's heart, and the dispute with Ban between father and son to rid of the latter, that matter is also brought to a close. And all Taiyo could do is to give a proper burial barring the secret mission that he and Kyoichiro had, not learning much about their father.

The day of Taiyo and Mutsumi's wedding reception is a sight to behold with family and friends, as well with the underworld alike, but why does Kyoichiro has to dress up in a fish Congratulatory suit lols. And as expected, even a wedding is an assassination ground, but seeing the recording of Rei and her past with the Yozakura Family, their sibling rivalry is just as strong no matter how much they've aged. If anything, Taiyo and Mutsumi's relationship will grow from here on out, stronger than ever.

A very good adaptation of the manga, this is definitely Silver Link at its best, no questions asked.

Season 2 announced? What a BIG W.

😭 y’all the way I started crying once they had Mutsumi mom give the video speech.. it’s giving Violet evergarden episode 10 and I’m always weak for the trope when a character sends a message into the future and another character can’t reply to it.

Mutsumi’s mother can rest in peace knowing her daughter has the best possible husband though. Great finale to the first season of one of the best new gen series. I hate this didn’t get more attention, what a fun ride.

Kawashita got off way too easy for my liking after everything he did to all the test subjects over the years, but I guess him rotting in prison and living with his failure is decent. What’s cool about that final fight is that again it wasn’t Taiyo overpowering someone, but being quick on his feet and using the skills he’s learnt over the season to target Kawashita’s power source aka the former Yozakura head, and take him out without incident. This season was really all about him becoming a proper spy and he and Mutsumi becoming a true married couple and this ending satisfied both of those!

We finally got the wedding and it was wonderful! Like I said the video tribute got me in the feels, but actually shed a tear when the ED started playing with Taiyo taking Mutsumi’s hand. 😭 Love them so much, they were a joy watch all season and it really feels like we saw them grow up before our eyes. One of my fave shonen ships! But marriage is just the first step, really excited for season 2 and where this story goes next with Tanpopo seemingly done, is that dad really gone? Who’s the next big bad? Lot more questions and I can’t wait to see em answered!

Season 2 is announced, let's go!

That was a fun show overall, like Reborn, it had a slow start, gradually introducing the cast first and then picks up afterwards. That's why I feel like we're still just at the tip of the iceberg, season 2 will become even better.

I wish the show got better production quality, but at the very least it stayed consistent all throughout, with some moments standing out.

Definitely teared up a little here in the episode when they showed Rei's message. I may or may not start reading the manga, but I'll definitely be putting it in the list.

They captured Kawashita but I'm looking forward to what Momo has planned next with his wife's heart.

What a heartwarming video. Kind of scary how she knows her kids that well. They have some crazy traditions but I'm glad that it went off with a bang. I like how it mirrors the ending of the first OP.

Now that I think about it, it's kinda weird how the 9th gen seems to only have had the head of the family. With how many siblings Mutsumi has, I thought that we would see at least an uncle or an aunt but I guess they don't have any. Perhaps the 10th gen is a rare phenomenon in the family.

Twas a great finale!Used their final formation against Kawashita with Taiyo as their lead was dope.Man was rly hoping ma was still alive somehow.Guess grandpa stayed outside knowing Momo would try to slip thru and carried the plan with him.Got a glimpse of his blooming tho couldnt rly make out what it is.A bit confused wether he still took the heart, but wasnt mentioned so think not.

Welp so much for tryin to keep the body a secret, wished we couldve had the siblings reaction or a proper burial for her.Ridiculous wedding as u expect for Yozafam. At least we do got a final message from mom for their wedding w lil Yozakuras. They rly didnt need to put the bucket on Nanao at like 1 yr old tho lol.Was hoping they wouldve played the first OP instead but ED literally fits.

Rly good production by SILVER LINK throughout with some lows but more highs imo, might be one of their best recently with maybe Ragna edging it out by a lil.If had to nitpick the pacing for a lot of 1st cour felt p stretched out and maybe could shaved an eps or two down, still Project No 9/ENGI wouldve crumbled not even half a cour in.Glad to know S2 announced right away,we will be there.

Its a Flat 8/10

The brief encounter between Ban and Momo was imo more intense than the actual climax, lol.

Entertaining shounen through and through with potenial to become a favorite. This adaptation only covered about 1/3 of the chapters out so far, so there's still a lot more to come which is awesome. With that in mind it's not surprising that we get a second season announcement right off the gate.

A great adaptation 85 chapters, over 27 episodes. For me there isn't even a single deficiency here, except that I wanted more episodes 50. And yes, all the characters are just great, from the best couple of the year Taiyo with Mutsumi and basically the whole Yozakuro family, to the minor ones like Rin, Sui and Ouga, and the villains go in the same category, in general the news about the adaptation of the second season is great.

I feel like this is another example of a show which has a fairly simple story overall but executes it perfectly. Seriously this show has been great through all 27 episodes. It gradually got better and better Taiyo and Mutsumi had great development as the 2 mc's and the rest of the Yozakura family was great too. Seriously this show doesn't have a character I dislike they're all great and unique.

The comedy was done well and the story I'm very curious to see where it goes since a s2 has been announced. I'm hoping we get more TaiyoXMutsumi moments though, I wanna see them go on more dates or finally kiss. In a way their relationship has went backwards, starting off getting married and eventually moving to dates and kissing LMAO.

overall a great show 8/10

Absolute Peak from start to finish

Last episode animation was kinda wonky but they saved their best for the last. Studio did brilliant job for the entire 27 episodes. S2 also announced W.

The final battle was excellent, all the siblings combined to make room for Taiyo to rescue their mother and also finish off Kawashita. He was indeed a very good antagonist. And looks like Momo will took the keys from him.
Another anime this season that ended with a wedding but unlike Pseudo Harem this was weird af. But the video of their mother Rie was very wholesome. She predicted what will happen 14 year into the future lol. The end with bullet shower is hilarious. The made the ED out of this. When the credits rolled, it was sad to see it end. I am gonna miss this.

9.2/10
This was very enjoyable from start but the 2nd half with Tanpopo was brilliant. Fights were good with decent animation. Story was simple and that made it so great. Taiyo was such a good mc easily better than 80% of all battle shounen protags. His development in both strength and power was so satisfying. Every sibling were great and everyone played their part. Shion & Kyochiro specially were my favourite.
But Mutsumi best girl and wife no cap.
The best part by far in the show is Taiyo and Mutsumi's relationship. The bond they shared, rescued eachother and be their for another was so cute.

Such a good (now) married couple.

Pretty good ending with a 2nd season announcement to boot, nice. The fight and defeat of Kawashita was well done, especially by bringing in all the siblings together. Regarding the father, Momo, I suspect he may be the one that will carry on with the research that was left behind by Kawashita which is a shame since I thought he would rejoin the Yozakura family.

This is about as bottom of the barrel as an adaption can get. Love the manga and I can usually tolerate even low budget adaption but this, this was bad. The sound mixing is especially terrible while the directing is simply low effort. I'm surprised they even have enough money for the 2nd season but I suppose that's why they skimped so much.

You haven't seen actual bad adaptations haven't you lol. look at Tower of God, The Promised Neverland, Tokyo Ghoul, Record of Ragnarok those are far worse than Yozakura's arguably average adaptation. Plus you guys keep saying they skipped so much when in reality it was a singular arc with 0 ties to the main story and a few chapters out of 85 (which they could still adapt in season 2). I dont get how you can watch a show with the occasional sakuga and good drawings and think it's one of the worst you've seen.

And they didn't skip the chapters cuz of budget that in itself makes no sense

@MaroMangas623 I've seen all of those and dropped them all because how bad they were. I would give them 1/10 if I could but I don't rate shows I don't complete. Yes they were worse but this one is still a terrible adaption. Somehow I managed to finish this one but it's unquestionably bad even for my average standard.

I never said anything about skipped chapters. My complain about this adaption is simply because of how cheap the whole thing look. I don't know if it's because a Disney+ thing but it reminds me of 90s anime fillers episode where they just produced it as quickly and as cheaply as possible without caring about the end result one bit.

Like as far as WSJ manga adaption goes, I wasn't even expecting Elusive Samurai or Blue Box level of sakuga but this one somehow managed to be worse than Undead Unluck, which was plagued by bad CGI and questionable directing.

As a fan of the source material, I have to say this adaptation is very mid in every aspects, from combat to animation to art.
Nothing unique/ eye-catchy/impressive going on throughout the whole adaptation.
Even in the big moment of the show, the animation/ art is still the same throughout the whole show. (lthose big moment from manga which i was expecting to see in anime form)
Not to mention sooo many cut contents too/ plot change/ detail omission (most for the worse)

Well, I'd keep watching season 2 though cuz i love the source, but i won't put too much expectation into season 2.

So did you not watch episodes 20 and 26 which have moments that are better than the manga. Arguably the anime did things that were better than the manga half the time and there weren't as many cuts as you guys make it out to have. The skipped chapters were only around 10 and none of them affect the overall plot most of the time

The anime had a good number of moments where it surpassed the manga and how do you watch some certain scenes and say it all looks cheap looking??

What a great finale! Taiyou was able to rescue Rei from his connection with Kawashita and finally defeat him. They accomplished their mission, but Momo is still on the loose, and it turns out he was after Rei’s heart all along, managing to escape with it after an encounter with Ban.

And finally... Taiyou and Mutsumi were able to celebrate their wedding. They were a fantastic couple this season, always supporting each other. The video Mutsumi’s mother left for her and the others was quite melancholic, and seeing the Yozakura siblings as children was heartwarming. With a second season already confirmed, this couldn't have ended any better.

Not gonna lie, this wasn't as entertaining as I thought. Maybe because of the expectations I had before starting the show, but I find some parts of the show hard to watch. The humor and personality of the characters were a bit too corny for my liking. I don't know if I'm just not used to shounen humor anymore, or it's just that this show could be over the top sometimes.

Personally, I find the sounds to also be bland. I didn't feel any hype towards the Tanpopo guys whenever they appeared on screen. Rather than sounds, probably it's more of a directing issue.

Aside from that, I liked the premise of the show, and it was what kept me entertained throughout the whole season. Even after they managed to take down Kawashita, it seems like the root of the problem is still intent on continuing the plan. I like the fact that the first head appears to be their true enemy.

It was good. Good characters, the Yozakura Family is an entertaining cast who each bring their own touch to the story (Kyouichirou was less annoying than expected but he was still annoying), a cute main couple who work well together and an antagonist who was more effective than I thought too.

Taiyou is a very good MC, reliable with his moments of glory and hype and what I liked was, we have an MC and he's the star of the show, the one we see most often and that's what I like in a shonen where My Hero Academia gives too much importance to useless characters (in the last seasons), at least here in this season 1 we saw the ups and downs of Taiyou with 90% screen time and THAT'S GOOD.

My main criticism of this series is the cruel lack of artistic direction; having set the series in a modern era means that it lacks a strong visual identity. Where Spy X Family does it wonderfully well, here the sets, locations and overall compositing of the image mean that what we end up with is something rather generic, even though the content is qualitative. I think a different era or a more fictional world than modern Japan would have been a better choice.

From an animation point of view, I deplore a 1st half that's a bit weak, with some really uninspired storyboards, particularly during the episode of Taiyou's awakening, which is really disappointing when it was supposed to be a moment of hype and... it was a bit of a fart noise. The second half was more convincing (the VS Hakuja fight was good, for example, and the onsen episode had very good drawings, as did the fight against Kawashita).

I still come away satisfied, and hope that Silver Link raises the level a bit in season 2.
