| Finally a suspense/horror anime that's not shipped with second hand embarasment. Really great production values from the rotoscoped animation cuts to really immersive sound design and soundtrack (watching this with headphones is probably the best choice). The voice acting in the beginning of the episode felt kinda wonky, but I guess that's part of the bizarre narrative this town and it's citizens hold. I hope we get more than 4 episodes in future seasons if we're going to get this kind of quality thru and thru. |

Holy shit it was good! For some reason I thought the episodes would be longer but somehow they managed to adapt many chapters without affecting the pace

I guess you didn't notice, the quick cuts inbetween different stories, it feels unnatural, Kirie is at multiple places so frequently....they didn't follow a linear approach and it kinda mixed up the stories, moreover the episode length was short, so it didn't work to build the tension and tie 🪢 the stories up simultaneous. |

| Hands down one of the best single episodes of anime. It was a perfect adaptation of the stories. I loved how they were able to weave them together into such a solid narrative that kept the pressure on and constantly building. I feel the spiral in to horror. |
| Went into this blind and found out that this is the perfect anime for October, aka spooky month. I can't recall watching a black & white anime before and this one was pretty unique not only because of the lack of color but also the atmosphere was really surreal and disturbing. Speaking of disturbing, the two scenes that made me the most uncomfortable were the mom cutting her fingertips off and finding the father's corpse twisted into a spiral in the large wooden drum, damn. The obsessed girl Azami was also disturbing and I wonder if her and Shuichi's dad have (or had) the same spiral curse. Anyway, I enjoyed the first episode and look forward to watching this short series play out. |
| A very mystifying first episode. These spirals being so dangerous but so attractive is a major problem. One I hope Kirie and Shuichi are able to deal with. Also, this show is so pretty to look at. That only makes the horror better! Poor Okada got sucked into a spiral looking for love. |

| After all the years of hype and waiting it’s finally here. No doubt the most unique anime I’ve ever seen. Genuinely terrifying first episode and the first ever anime to make me feel unsettled. I didn’t feel afraid per se, but this was a very uncomfortable episode. The world is so eerie, kinda feels like the twilight zone or goosebumps. Almost makes you feel like you yourself are trapped in the world and being pulled into the spiral. The black and white colour palette and 2.5D animation really blend well here. Love how fluid the animation is as well, Krie playing with her hair at the start of the episode looked so good! Seems like the story itself is progressing quite fast since they only have 4 episodes. You’d think they would’ve done more with the manga’s length, but oh well. Didn’t really have any time to breathe in this one as we’re thrown into the middle of the action. I hope Shuichi and Krie can survive, but something tells me shit is about to get a whole lot worse for them. |

| Loved it loved it loved it, definitely worth the wait, animation is a little weird compared to your regular series, but it adds to the spookiness, the soundtrack is fucking amazing, and the sound design makes the gore scenes work out even better. |

| I've known about Junji Ito for a long time now, but this is pretty much my first exposure to his work. As someone whose only seen a handful or so horror series in his lifetime, that was fantastic. Spirals are never going to be the same for me by the end of this, ain't it? But to be able to create horror out of spiral is really amazing, my jaw definitely started dropping as I got farther in the episode. |

| Pretty good. They really did a nice job with the atmosphere in some of the scenes. Very gloomy and ominous. My only concern is that it's only four episodes long (?) according to MAL. I flipped through the manga and they covered around 3 of the chapters so far. They didn't have every scene from those chapters in there and there's one scene from chapter 8 so they're mixing scenes around. I just hope they pick the right scenes to depict moving forward if they're not covering everything because the manga gets really fucked up later on if I remember correctly. The early chapters were incredibly tame by comparison. |
| I love this so much. The attention to detail for each character/action is amazing. You can tell how much love the team had for Uzumaki and how much effort they put into it. I don't hate that there are instant transitions between chapters. It kind of plays like the manga. The next chapter always feeling like a change of scene and pace. This is peak and I love it so much. |

| Holy hell that was an amazing representation of the manga in anime form. They nailed the art and atmosphere. My main complaint is that it just felt too fast. I really wish the episode was 45 minutes and it would have been perfect. How they intertwined the stories feels perfectly fine, but it just needed more time to smooth out the pacing. Still, I absolutely loved it and and can't wait for the rest. |

| Absolutely love the vibes. Everything being done in greyscale makes it all the more unique, now I'd like to see more shows try the no color approach. I hope it'll be a success so we may get an adaptation of Tomie |
| The animation was absolutely gorgeous, can't wait to see more of everyone's work. I also think it was a good idea to connect beginnings of different stories into single episode, adapting it 100% faithfully to the manga wouldn't fit the format, hopefully it'll get a lot of people hooked. |
