Seems like Alya figured out that Masachika knows Russian. I thought that it would be more surprising to her because of all the things she said to him. (I'm really looking forward to an announcement of Season 2) OK nvm it's already confirmed πŸ˜‚

I really liked how Masachika dealt with Yuki in this episode. It was good, he wanted to show her some “discipline” as he called it, but he didn’t go too far or stooped to Yuki’s level. I like that.

I can’t say that I would have Alya say all that during the speech. I mean yes do you want to show how honest and sincere it is, but there was a little bit too much of honesty and sincerity. I mean even with that whole hard-working part, it still doesn’t give me a whole lot of confidence in voting for her. And as some of you said, Masachika had to come in and clean it up and make the case for her. And he did a really good job, and what a class act, by bringing in those two, who challenged them earlier in the season, and saying that they will join the student council, should I get elected. He certainly made the case that they were the more ethical pair, I can tell you that much.

And that scene in the locker room, you could cut the tension with a knife! I mean, I know about the fact that calling someone by their first name is a very big deal in Japan, but it’s like come on! There’s obviously some big-time romantic undertones going on there. But unlike a lot of you, I haven’t gotten up to that part in the light novels yet, so that’s why I might be missing something.

And that last scene with Alya calling out to Masachika in Russian, and him responding to Alya, clearly indicating to her that he did understand what she was saying, that was awesome! And the last little thing she said was awesome too! That’s a great way to end this episode.

Episode: 4/5
Series: 10/10 (seriously, I enjoyed it that much!)

And hooray for the fact that they’ll be a season two! I mean seriously, there’s certainly more than enough source material to do it and since it’s so popular, why the hell not?

good 10 episodes and then episode 11 came with Student Council elections plus trying this edgy tryhard villain bs, what a let down.
all it had to do was stick to this cute waifus and developing romance between MC and Alya this needless I am edgy BS just had to happen.

Yuki will remain the MVP of the show. Alya won the last episode but she ain't beating the GOAT Yuki anyway πŸ˜‚. Yuki literally carried this show from. start to end, otherwise the series fell off hard. Let's see when S2 comes

Damn good coin toss, Masha-chan.

“I dumped Yuki’s sorry ass.”
I object to this disparagement of Yuki’s fine ass.

“Face forward”
Did Masachicka give it away there? Or will it pass by Alya or maybe she will just think he got the gist for her inflection and context rather than from the words?

A really underwhelming show.
I thought about dropping it after episode 5, but somehow I have a thing for continuing to watch shows I don't like.

The plot is mid at best and bad at worst. It doesn't improve on anything for the very common tropes. After that season, I still don't know what makes Kuze like Alya. Also, the plot was all over the place.
The only thing it did well after episode 5 was give more character development to Alya. No other character seems to get that.

Finally, I hate Yuki. One of my least favorite characters ever.

Score 4/10

I kinda expected more fireworks but it was just fine. Naturally everything will feel shallow after that Oshi No Ko episode.

I freaking loved that Masachika v Yuki standoff though. By far the best part.
"Half of me wants to pat my pet dog for trying to bite me and half of me wants to discipline it for daring to go against me"
That was smooth...πŸ”₯ No wonder it left Yuki unsettled.

The end was as expected nothing surprising. Yuki did a crowd friendly pure politician speach and Masachika pulled strings with Nonona & Taniyama.
Ironically Alya was impressive quite an exception from entire show. She spoke with her heart and actually felt genuine +anime logic give the boost.
I don't think VP should go later, ah another trick to make Masachika "op".

I had seen Yuki's L coming from miles out. Well Alya (and only she) deserved the W for one being season ender.

Also Ayano looked very cute..

Finally Alya went to first name basis(after confessing to him)😭😭.
The end was wholesome, I sometimes forget it's a romance anime but eh it was good end.

Last episode kinda improved overall perception of Alya a bit. But the point stands Alya wasn't really let to make progress as Masachika literally carried her. An slightly above avg. romcom but best girl Yuki made it much more enjoyable.
7.3/10

No more Yuki each week😭😭
Until Season 2..

Well overall a good show, One of the better shows recently in its genre. Not cause of the romance aspect cause honestly that side of the show so far has been pretty weak but rather I think the characters are what really made this show shine. They all are very unique and interesting, The fanservice was definitely very unnecessary and felt a little annoying at times.

Standout characters for this show were definitely Masha and Ayano. Masachika is a very good male mc which I feel like we don't get many of recently. Alya was definitely the weak link of the show, I'm not saying she's bad just simply that the other characters stood out way more imo. Every time she spoke Russian though was great she has an amazing accent.

Overall lived up to the hype 9/10. One of the better shows this season

@MegamiRem You should have watched Makeine then. That show blows Roshidere out of the water.

The blue haired girl in Makeine is unbearable. I like the idea of the mc being roped into shit he doesn’t want to and the other characters seem decent enough, but every time that girl is there I’d want to punch the screen. I can’t believe how much people like her

My main complaints were that there was too little development between Alya and Masachika and his treatment towards his sister in the speech. I guess Yuki kinda deserved it after what she did to Alya last time, but still I think it went a bit too far. Anyway, a solid 8/10. Glad 2nd season is announced

@RaiYou I wish it would be. Other than having cute girls, a few funny moments and a fun MC, the plot of this show is just a colossal borefest. Do we really care who gets to be the SCP? Does it even matter when the gang sticks together regardless? I don't think so.

This whole series was a wasted potential. Would not rate it above 6/10, and 2 points from that go for Yuki and Masachika's character, who completely outshine the titular heroine.

Decent anime overall, until the end....I still don't get the big deal about Alya but thats ok.

Kuze and his imouto carried the series for me and were good to see on screen. Not the strongest rom com this season (Gonna give that to Too many heroines, as there actually development there) but it wasn't bad at all.

Season 2? Maybe...

The last episode was amazing way to close the curtains of season 1. 😊

YEA THIS IS THE MASACHIKA BEAST MODE THAT I LOVE THE MOST!😎
His expression like that gives me a totally energy ways of the Anti-hero. ✨😁
I love Suou siblings so much, despite they on their boss vibes face off but in family love. 😊

The speech of Yuki, Ayano and Alya were warm hear. πŸ˜‰

Masachika my chad finished the most epic speech at the end.

I am going to add Nonoa as my 4th favourite girl now.😍✨

I love how both Alya and Masachika wanted to say their 1st and got embarrassed too.
The two both smiles, I must protect them! ✌️😊

Roshidere animation is best summer 2024 anime ever and can't wait once season 2 is out. πŸ’―

Yuki: Nobody uses the suggestion boxes, so yeah... use them and we will fulfill your wishes. Yeah.
Ayako: -praises Yuki because-
Alya: I don't know anything about this, but I work hard.
Masachika: Yeah, I dump Yuki for "awkward" Alya speech. I'm also a comedian.

Speeches were terrible and without substance.

Show was good without this mess.

7/10

PS: Yuki carried the show.

As clearly shown here, there are two camps in Roshidere

One who loves the show and praises it to no end,
And the other where the show is carried by its fanservice, art and Yuki’s personality.

7.5/10 for me with 7 being too low and 8 being too high. Show was enjoyable but the transition from comedy to serious wasn’t great for me. Side characters backstory was pretty much rushed as they try to flesh them out as soon as they are introduced which is a lot to take in for a 12 episode season.

With season 2 announced, I am eagerly waiting for it to come out but with much tempered expectations.

Not a bad ending, but the season overall didn’t focus on Alya enough in my book. It started out being a fun story about Alya hiding her feelings but about halfway turned into a show about the Student Council, and that was pretty dull IMHO. Hopefully season 2 will focus more on Masachika and Alya and less on political speeches….

Finally Yuki Suou isn’t the obvious winner of the elections. Alya and Kuze’s speeches impressed the students corp way more than Yuki and Ayano’s. They proved that they can be worthy opponents.

This season was exciting with a good animation, story, characters and I loved the interaction between them. Alya and Kuze became more closer than before, Yuki understood that her brother isn’t supporting her anymore and everyone from the student council is getting along very well and they can truly represent the voice of students.

A second season is coming as well, I hope it will be even better or at least the same as this one.

And with this episode, the anime comes to an end.

The closing ceremony was really interesting, and I feel like they were able to make the speeches interesting enough for you to be engage. But before that, I must say the tension between Masachika and Yuki before the ceremony was really well done and I loved it.
I really like the direction they had with Alya's speech, and made it genuine for the circumstances of Alya. Not only that, the beginning in Russian was really interesting and certainly got the attention of the public. Although people say that it was Kuze's speech that gave them the win completely, I don't agree with that, because the anime showed that people really enjoyed Alya's speech, even if they had low expectations from it. Alya showing that the "cold princess" also gets nervous, but it's genuine and honest with her intention of wanting to improve herself to the point of becoming the student council president ressonated with the students, and Yuki has now a serious threat with Alya. The reveal that the other 2 girls would be support Alya wasn't that surprising, but Kuze's speech was really cute, because it really is the way he feels about Alya.

The ending was just really cute, with them starting to treat each other by their 1st names, and Masachika asking to see Alya during their summer break was really cute too. I really feel like these cute moments between these 2 are one of the best parts of the anime.
Also, we didn't get any fanservice in this episode, which is a win, this anime is at its best when they don't focus on the fanservice, that doesn't add anything and it's actually hard to watch.

This episode didn't blow my mind and I actually had higher expectations for it, since it really didn't feel like a final episode (even if there's a second season, it is the finale of the first season), but it's still one of the best episodes of the anime.

I feel like the anime started and ended really strong, but it did lost itself between episodes 5-9, with all of the unnecessary fanservice, the disturbing incest jokes and just the weaker plot, but, the truth is, from the 3 animes I was watching this season, this one ended up to always be the one I was most excited to see the episode each week. The relationship between Masachika and Alya is just really cute to watch, the anime has really good characters with Masachika, for example, and the story has more to it than what you would expect, especially with Masachika's backstory. So, I'm really between the 7 and the 8, but I do believe this anime has a lot of potential, and if they focus on the next season more on the direction of the first 4 episodes, or these last 3, I do think the 2nd season can really be good.

So, with a bit of faith for the upcoming 2nd season, I'm giving this anime an 8/10, because at the end of the day, it's really entertaining, and I'm eagerly waiting for the 2nd season!

There are other ways to introduce tension and raise the stakes into high school settings than student politics. With how politics are constantly at the forefront of the news these days, it would be nice to see less shows depending on them as a plot device. Field trips are also rather overused, but the antics that result from those tend to be better to watch than debates and campaigning. This show is not COTE, but yet I felt they tried to push it too much in that direction.

Many of the character interactions, particularly between Masachika and Alya or Masachika and Yuki, are really fun to watch when they are not focusing on student council issues. More of that please next season. This show has a good cast of characters, play to their strengths instead of dulling everything out.

The intense stares between Masachika and Yuki were truly eerie. It was a solid final episode, with Masachika once again solving everything. While Yuki's speech was good, Masachika's advice for Alya's speech made all the difference, leading her to win this round.

Overall, the anime is quite good, though I feel it spends too much time on student council matters rather than focusing on the romance. While Alya's character development was touched upon, I found other characters like Yuki (my favorite) and Masha to be more compelling. The good news is that a second season has been confirmed, as I'm still curious about the relationship between Masachika and his mother. It’s been a sweet and funny anime with well-designed and interesting characters, and the endings were excellent.
