I still cant believe these episodes are a full 22 minutes, they go by so quickly lmao
That whole bus thing was so smart on Light's part, however like I said last episode if he just goes and kills the agent following him it'll be obvious he's Kira- it'd also just be a waste since he's gonna stop following him anyway

Using that girl just to get his secret observers name well I can't really fathom why it worked but it works and that's that, although if he would kill that FBI agent then he's crossed the line now.

Light is incredible, thinking through every detail just to know the name of the FBI agent who follows him

I really like Lights elaborate plan, but I think he's kinda dumb now that he's got his stalkers name, he's going to kill him but that will almost definitely alert L and get him suspicious of Light.

I liked seeing Light actually being smart for once and planning out his next attack. I'm not usually the kind of guy who anticipates for the death of any sort of character, regardless of their moral status; but I'm very curious to see how this FBI agent is killed.

i'm impressed with the elaborate plan that light made up and actually managed to pull off in this episode! that being said i can't help but wonder if it was a good move since surely killing off raye penber will only narrow down the suspects to those raye has been following

The strategic genius that Light showcases in his use of the Death Note to stage an entire hijack just to lure out the identity of his stalker is amazing. This anime really rewards you and Light for paying attention to the rules of the Death Note

more experimenting even with impossible situations and the date with the pretty girl, cool. But the best moment was making Ryuk appear to the junkie robber and make everyone think he was just tripping, just by accidentally touching a ripped piece of page... genius move.

Why would a FBI agent reveal his identity to the very person he's tailing? lol

Things seem to be picking up with this episode, not only due to Light refusing the Eye deal but having to deal with stalker. Honestly, the entire bus scene alone was a delight to watch unfold. Everything from Light causally getting Raye Penber's name to the highjacker shooting at Ryuk just blew me away!

My favorite scene, of course, was with the highjacker shooting at Ryuk. Ryuk is just awesome.

Damn. Light is very, very smart. He uses bus hijackings and accidents as his form of assassination so that it doesn't look like Kira's work. He's really up to speed with L. I hope L can pick up on this hint and start tricking Light too.

But the FBI... I don't understand how the FBI works, but I think they should be suspicious of everyone, especially students in the Kanto area, right now, and especially the people on the list they have to follow. If it was a real identity, I hope after this case the police and FBI or whoever L assigned to monitor Light can have a backup identity. Using a real photo but a fake name, perhaps.

Episode 4 of Death Note, titled "Pursuit," is a masterclass in psychological tension and strategic maneuvering. The episode dives deeper into the mind of Light Yagami, showcasing his cunning and meticulous nature as he navigates the challenges posed by his mysterious adversary, L. The cat-and-mouse game intensifies, with both sides taking bold steps to outwit the other.

What makes this episode stand out is how it balances character development with the intricate plotting that Death Note is known for. Light’s intelligence is on full display, and his calculated decisions drive the narrative forward in a way that is both thrilling and terrifying. The show continues to explore moral dilemmas and the consequences of power, all while keeping the viewer on the edge of their seat.

Without giving anything away, "Pursuit" is an episode that will leave you eager to see what happens next. It's a great example of why Death Note remains one of the most compelling and suspenseful anime series out there. Highly recommended for anyone who enjoys a good psychological thriller!

I just realized, while rewatching Death Note, that Raye Penber and the 12 FBI agents basically died for nothing. On the day Light executed his plan to get his pursuer to reveal his identity so he could kill him, it was actually Penber’s last day observing him. Up until then, Penber had concluded that Light was just a normal student with a typical routine.

However, because Light went ahead with his plan, he wrote in his notebook that Penber had shown him his FBI ID, which later ended up raising more suspicion towards Light. Not only did this lead to Penber’s death, along with the 12 other FBI agents, but also the eventual death of Penber’s wife. In other words, if Light had just waited one more day, things would have played out completely differently. Instead of only Penber's suspects being considered, the FBI would have had a wider pool of potential suspects that were already being investigated before all of this.

In conclusion, Light’s plan not only caused the deaths of innocent people (something that, up until Lind L. Tailor, he hadn’t intentionally done), but it also greatly increased suspicion on him.

Sorry for any mistakes in my writing, as English is not my native language.

I like how Light turns down the deal just because he wants to rule the world he creates. Also I feel like it is pretty clera he is gonna kill the fbi agent either way which really suchs for him since he would let him go. But I do wonder how he will get around L suspecting the guy whose tail died, especially since he is believes supernatural abilities to be involved so any death could cast suspicion on him even if he gets hit by traffic or commits suicide.
