This anime is immensely popular for some reason, and idk why. I am thinking of seeing season 1 to find out why, but what is stopping me is... the fandom.

Should I watch season 1, or try to save myself?

I feel like you should if you are that interested. And while the fandom can be, let’s say not great, that honestly shouldn’t have any effect on watching the anime. I’ve watched plenty of anime’s and not interacted with the fandom at all. Still, not everyone in the fandom is bad the bad ones just get more publicity than the ones who are chill. It’s a good action anime and has an interesting plot.

ignore the fandom every fandom has it's worst group of people, I love the anime it's good and bad the fight scenes are what makes it popular, once you see it you will see the flaw this show has that make it bad just know the bad I'm talking about is the story and characters it is rushed season 2 feels like a finally arc, watch it and see it you like it or not.

if you want to watch an anime with good fights and incredible animation then watch it, but the plot/story/power system/characters etc are trash imo

I hear a lot about the crap fandom but I've been able to ignore it. I enjoyed the show quite a bit. Great art and fights, decent story. Quite a few likable characters, more so then Chainsaw Man. And it actually feels like at the end of a season it wasn't all set up for the next. Story arcs are left but there is a definitive conclusion to the current big arc.

i would get away from the fandom and watch it. i was lucky to be in at the beginning, before the anime, and watched as if aired. the fandom is not the best representation of the story itself, but i do get how hard it can be to actually consume a piece of media through that filter.

it’s good. it’s really good. if you don’t like it, let that be because you made that choice yourself, after watching it. i don’t even think that engaging with fandom would do anything to benefit the experience of watching the show, and if you have any serious questions just check the wiki

oh and don’t be too paranoid about spoilers that might be floating around, it’s not a show that relies on big reveals to be interesting — it just is generally interesting

if you like battle shonen why not. It’s got pretty and has nice animation and likeable characters. It starts falling apart later on, but for the most part the anime is solid. If you don’t like the community just don’t engage with it, you can like a show without being part of the community lol. If you don’t like shonen and already have a bad taste in your mouth from the community you probably won’t like it though.

It’s a fine show, it’s nothing spectacular and is blown way out of proportion by the hype surrounding it.

Season 1 is incredibly generic but it’s not bad by any means. Season 2 has some phenomenal fights but that’s really about it.

Don’t go in expecting it to change your life, it’s a solid 6/10.

If you like battle shōnen anime, then yea. You definitely should.

And yea, the fandom is...really bad but don't mind that, it shouldn't stop you. Watch it first then make a decision whether to drop it or not.

Ngl, it's a very fun, but also downright insane anime in terms of visuals. I feel like it has a cool turn your brain off kinda vibe to like, sorta like dbz (don't kill me, I love dbz). as everyone said, Fandom sucks, don't engage, they are FREAKY!!!!

Fandoms should never affect you from watching an anime (if anything is good proof of that, it's MHA fandom). Bottom line, you really shouldn't f around with fandoms in the first place. Get in, enjoy the anime, then leave. Simple as that, really.

The season I enjoyed.

The second season I did not.

Note: I don’t lazily watch 3-5 episodes, biasedly compare to other anime, or unfairly judge by surface level similarities. With every anime I start, I watch the entire series, both Japanese Sub & English Dub, then judge each anime based on what they present, to give an honest and fair rating.

You should watch it, it's enjoyable. Don't care about the fandom at all, they are crazy for sure, but the anime is pretty good.
