| Don't use the 3 episode rule for this as the main events in the visual novel that hook you are in middle (once the school arc ends), this is very much an anime/VN that uses the Nakige formula (First half more comedic SoL before middle to end become drama focused) so basing opinions on the first 3 episodes (as anime onlys) is like judging Clannad on its first 3 when that doesn't really pick up until either Kotomi arc or After Story (depending who you ask). So yeah just stick with this until the first major reveal about Atri then that's the anime's true colours or you're missing out on the actual main plot. Edit: Cause multiple people brought up they dislike this rule - I completely agree and would've ended up dropping Dangers in my Heart which is a peak romance imo, but too many do still stick to this rule and I don't want people to drop this so early. Also I'd definitely be enjoying this regardless to if I'd read the VN or not, and listen to the VNs OP 'Light Across the Sea's both OPs are great and very different (VN ED is also an insert song so will exist in the anime while OP probably won't - if it does that would be great though) |

I used to use the 3 episode rule but I've learned over time that different anime take different amounts of time to pick up or get interesting. But at the end of the day if your not enjoying an anime you don't have to watch it. maybe you could stop wait for it all to release and search when it starts to pick up and if you wanna watch till then go ahead. with that being said I'm still gonna watch the anime and have no plans to drop it as I've been waiting for a while for it to release
| @Xjebtvybrhfye Yeah I only really watch seasonals that interest me and then if something was actually great but I didn't pick it up I'll watch it later or last season I had to much to watch so put Girls Band Cry and Mushoku Tensei on hold despite me wanting to watch - then all of a sudden the next episodes that aired decided to be unanimously praised based on everything I saw about both anime so just waited until they were finished and I had time. Only reason I made this post is because I have read the VN so know around when it will pick and how great that pick up is. |

| @MAINTOP86 It's a guideline that if an anime bores you or doesn't hook you by episode 3, you can choose to drop it. It's similar to reading books that state that if the first 50 pages don't hook you, it's okay not to continue reading. |

I watched the first six episodes when I was in Japan and episode six left off on a massive cliffhanger that left me super hooked. Mind you I loved the whole thing, but the scene of Atri singing was what now has me thinking this might just be anime of the season.
| @InfinityDude88 I am so happy that I got confirmation here by complete accident that they use that scene, that fully hooked me when playing the VN and made the ending hit that much harder. |

| @salarx Highly recommend you watch the movie 'Anthem of the Heart' then, ED is done by the same group and has this exact feeling as well (most of their songs do but this OP and that ED are their best imo) Writer of that movie is also the same as Maquia and Anohana |

| This is a good reminder honestly, maybe there are people who watch this and expect some drama, but the first two episodes are just your usual and typical slice-of-life. If I didn't realize the original source, I might instantly drop it after the first episode. |

@AltN I go by 1 episode rule too, if it can't get me hooked within that 1st episode, I'd rather not waste my time on it. I don't care about the things you mentioned like it being unique, good animation and what not though.. I just need it to get me hooked and be entertaining enough for me to bother with it. Atri is not one I will watch though for now that is, I might in 10 years when I have hopefully ran out of things to do.

| @Tomara that's such a rubbish rule you are missing out on so many great anime like that. Also we should never run out of anime to watch unless they stop creating anime,but even then we already have thousands and thousands of anime that have already been released you have barely scratched the surface. You should give Atri a try it is really good so far don't know why, but it has a nostalgia feel for me. |
| okay I found this kind of thing, it's kind of bullshit for the 3 episode rule, can y'll just watch or if you're not interested you can drop it from the start and don't even need to watch it, I've seen a lot of strange things since the covid era |
