better than episode 1, and I will admit the robot looks nice even though everything else doesn't.

I'm assuming this pacing is a result of shrinking a 50+ ep show into a smaller format? I didn't realize this was going to be a straight remake.

If ep 1 is a 3/10, I'd give this one a 5/10

Duke's backstory; one of his fellow Stark knights betrayed Fleed for Vega and he went berserk in Grendizer as a result. With a sight like that, it was easy to blame the assassination of his parents on Duke himself.

What Duke is afraid of is him/Grendizer going berserk on Earth, but if he hadn't used Grendizer in Riyadh, Kouji would not be alive. And with Mazinger Z destroyed, Grendizer is the only proper defense Earth has against the Vegans.

From her clothes and the Cuneiform script in the ruins, I thought the girl who proposed to Duke was going to be Middle Eastern, but the Island of Wolves is near Japan? Grendizer flew that far after the Riyadh battle?

Last episode Riyadh was attacked. In this episode Paris, France, where Grendizer is also popular, is the battlefield. Rome, next?

It's not, the plot here is radically different from previous Grendizer series beyond the typical premise of Duke fighting Vegans on Earth with Koji's help.

The first episode wasn't good by any means but this one is much better, The pacing and character development is pretty good nearly as good as in the original series, I'm really interested to see how the fight will be in the next episode hoping it will not be a 30 seconds fight. if I gave EP 1 a 5/10 this one is definitely a 6,5/10 I hope it keeps getting better and better.

@Fortress_Maximus Lol, they decided to do a Grendizer world tour to pay homage to all the countries where their franchise is popular by attacking them in the show?

The design of the UFO of Zeoladizer (Cassado's robot) is inspired by the design of the OG Gattaiger, which is the "pilot episode version" of Grendizer.

I appreciate the reference. THIS is how you do fanservice

The story is feeling pretty silly and a little rushed so far. That said, it's pretty easy to watch, the animation is nice, and the fights are cool. I'm enjoying it enough to watch for a single cour, but I can't see it going beyond that length.
