| Hmm, the interesting thing about Juroimoh being created from Vueko's abusive guardian is that it sort of serves as an extension of the main moral dilemma here in a sense. His creation stems from an absolutely horrific place, but is now serving a beneficial purpose to many as the guardians of the village (thought not particularly beneficial in this case). Of course, there's [probably] no chance of any lingering soul in Juroimoh since it's explicitly not a hollow, and the idea that there is/might be for Irumyuui is the main reason I'm not sure if the village's continued existence is ethical, but there's still a parallel there that was worth noticing. This mainly felt like a build-up episode, and oh boy, did it hype me up for the next episode. Reg being forced to use his incinerator (which is always a visual treat), leading to Faputa's entrance, next episode is going to be insane. That was a great speech, and Made in Abyss' propensity for being unrelenting brutal skyrockets the tension to an all-time high. Certainly the villagers themselves don't deserve to die, and I've grown quite attached to several of them, Kaja in particular. It's not like I can blame Faputa either. I kept expecting the episode to end earlier, when she said it begins, or when she leaped towards the crowd but instead the episode ends on a much more somber foreboding note. Belaf's lullaby and Nanachi waking up has certainly piqued my interest. Really intrigued to see how this all plays out. |
