Chie looks around the places she governs, and the situation isn't pleasing her eyes. Undoubtedly, Chie is a good strategist. As for being a good ruler, I wonder.

Arikoto arranged a special night for all the men at Ooku, so that they don't feel empty, since they all spend their days meaninglessly for something that probably won't even happen. Kasuga is enraged by the arrangement, claiming this wasn't right when there is a famine outside. But what can men of the Ooku do? Their lives will be the same no matter what happens outside. They are helpless and bound to the place. Moreover, the entire spending was from Arikoto's earnings over the years. Kasuga can only grit her teeth for her actions.

Damn, only if Kasuga died a few years earlier.

The prophecy of Gyokuei as Father of the lord and the famine that happened to the country are important detail to what will happen in the future. So that's why Gyokuei is weirdly attractive designed and voiced by Kaji Yuki, he's the one who bear the fruit. He also at similar age with the Liege and loyal to the Arikoto. They should go with Gyokuei in the first place than making Arikoto as the scapegoat. Nonetheless, It feel good to see Kasuga will finally succumbed to her age and illness after what she's done.

@Tsuyo_Mika to be fair to Kasuga... Arikoto had good intentions, but his idea paved the way for the extravagant and wasteful "fashion show" that impacted the modern times.

Let’s not talk about the modern times when they don’t show the modern times in the story. When a story is fictional, you need not connect it with reality. But if the story indeed shows this incident as the beginning of fashion shows in the modern times, then I’d agree with the point.

Nonetheless, I’ve forgotten what I watched 😅. Side effects of watching too many.
