That was the best anime Maeda has made. Good story, character development and a great ending (finally not a sad one as usual). Would definitely recommend this

Holy Shit this anime was fire since 6th episode, I love it <3

It was okay. The end was fairly rushed although his loss of sanity montage was quite enjoyable.

I was so scared that the show gets a sad/bitter sweet ending and I'm so glad it didn't.

I gotta give credit to this show and to Maeda = This was intense and interesting.

When I first saw this show as it aired weekly in 2015, I was mostly bored and unimpressed, mainly due to the first four episodes.   But now I have a whole different mentality to it now that I watched it marathon-style.

When Charlotte got serious, IT WAS INTENSE AND CAPTIVATING! Props to Charlotte on that.    You just gotta get through the dull first four episodes.

this show would've been absolute FIRE had it gotten the three-cour treatment that the big shot Key titles used to get. it has the most interesting plot alongside AB!.

instead, just like with AB!, we're left with very oddly paced, plothole-ridden, intense binge material (just finished my 3rd rewatch in just a couple days, the rewatch value is still INSANE). the emotional moments are dulled by the frantic dialogue and all around poor character development.

i do commend their bringing some extreme elements to the equation, like

i don't see this getting a remake unfortunately. even Kaginado ignored it lol i still enjoy it immensely for what it was.

SAVING THE WORLDO WITH THE POWER OF ENGRISH

I lol'ed at that part.

This show was a bit weird, since the plot and narrative was very simple... but it seems like the author was lost, trying to hit many targets at the same time and missing it all.

- Action? weak
- Romance? Totally anticlimatic (thanks nao)
- Adventure? meh
- Drama? meh
- Emotion? meh
- Happy endo? Hm very, but meh

It's like a mix of Kyoani/Key series x Angel Beats + Superpowers, but failed.

Anyway, i thought it satisfying after all.

Great ending, the best part about the anime for me was the MC was very well conceptualized.

Yu is not some perfect MC with a very gentle and caring side, he turns insane and had shortcomings and vulnerabilities as we do. It was his flaws that made me take a liking to him.

Loved all the other characters and the way story had maturity associated with it was amazing to watch.

It's not your generic anime storyline rather it's got its own unique vibe you'll feel excited, at times feel heartbreak and also feel hope while watching this great piece if art.

What did I just watch?

  • The first episodes have a very light atmosphere. The concept behind the story is weak, but some manage to bring something to the table. Such as the special "Strong Ones": simple story, simple arc, some unusual situations for character development. The problem is that the anime doesn't seem to know where it is headed;
  • Then we have the twist with the sister's death. A twist for the better, in my opinion. The episode that followed was a bit edgy, but as least this is moving forward;
  • Next we have the beggining of his recovery. Too fast, maybe, but with all issues aside, I liked the start of his "redemption arc" with the singer of ZHIEND;
  • And then... time travel? Oh, no. No, no, no. Titles that have a focus on time travel have a difficult time trying to keep things together. It's hard to deal with all the plot holes and the progress being undone;
  • From then onwards... I confess I prefered the lack of direction of the first half than all the worldbuilding of the final episodes. Yes, they are trying to explain things from the past and solve the problem of supernatural powers. But what message is being told? What are they trying to tell the audience? They've lost me here.

And finally we come to this episode with: a very straightforward approach to solving their problems; a shallow beggining of a romance; and a conclusion without depth. I won't even bother to complain about some plot holes and the use of deus ex machina.

A shame. I really liked the idea — the concept — behind Charlotte. I'm going to pretend time travel never happened and imagine a better ending for the story.

Honestly, Charlotte is watched better if you stop watching at episode 5. And you can come up with your own story of what happens from episode 6-13 and I think you'd still do a much better job than Jun Maeda.

Even though it was too inconsistent throughout, I still enjoyed it more than Angel Beats. Inconsistencies made it up for a more enjoyable show.

Well, that was... Uh... It was something, I guess?

I can't say I liked this ending, it was rushed, it was weird, and it was rather lame. We know then that a lot of people have the same abilities as others, but apparently nobody has some sort of ability to have a perfect memory or anything like that. He also doesn't use the ability to heal in order to fix his eye and just go back in time and prevent all of this from ever happening cuz "muh humanity".

The last ability he takes is... I mean, it's extremely lame, the "ability of courage"? Come on. It's also just annoying how he goes between "I've lost it and I forgot everything" to "Right, I gotta keep going". Having all of his memories erased just kills the climax entirely.

What's even worse is that the anime ends here and there are a few plotholes left as well as just a lot of things that go unanswered. I can't say it was a bad anime, it wasn't, but it was certainly worse than I expected.
Pretend there's something flashy and cool here.

what kind of shitty vapid show is this ??Was this written by a toddler ?A horror show with zero cohesion between the characters ,directionless plot ,awefull exposition of the world.
It was a bore from start to finish and nothing in it to feel for the show as a whole.I can't even remember the name of the characters .
gets a 4/10 from me

I'm so sad that Yuu forgot about Nao, but this could have been the best ending for this situation. I wish there could be a few more episodes about Yuu's memory recovery process.
But that's pretty good 9/10.

I think the ending was a bit anticlimactic, and the romance made little sense to me (from Tomori's side, at least).
That being said, I enjoyed the show thoroughly. Especially after the plot twist. I wouldn't mind some OVA expanding the last episode. 8/10 for me

Yu He Constantly uses his plundering ability to cure wielders everywhere & paid a dearly price with his Memories.
Tomori Directly confesses her feelings to him.
He Forgot everything but not his promise & finally fulfilled it.
That flash card really worked like a good luck charm & helped keeping his sanity in check.
We are happy that Our Yu is safe and that's enough for us.
"I'm so glad you're back." Emotional Words 😭 by Our truly Tomori-san.
That Ending Scene with cam recorder and with everybody was so Beautiful ❤️.
Charlotte FIN.
Really enjoyed this a lot.
Score 8/10 at MAL.

Eh... I'm really not sure how to feel about this ending lol

... There's no way Yu went on this mission, with ZERO knowledge of English... Right? LMAO

And if that wasn't enough he's relying purely on the cards Nao gave him. I'm pretty sure those aren't going to help much.

And he really cured the ENTIRE world of this disease all on his own. He found every last person, under the age of 18 who had an ability and cured them...

I feel like things went a bit off the rails here

And seriously what is this romance, I don't get it.

6/10. It was a 7 for me, but nope I don't think I can give it that. I'm not really a fan of this ending. I agree with what others have said, it should've ended with episode 10, maybe 12

Edit: I just realized. Why didn't they save everything that happened in this last episode for another season? There's so much packed into this episode, and it's so rushed. Wouldn't it have been cooler to see Yu travel the world gradually, have it happen more slower as he starts to lose his mind more with each episode. That would've been way more interesting than this mess!
