| Tohru's grandpa is such a sweetie pie <3 I love his appearances hehe This scene was when I really started to ship YukiXTohru even more back then :') it's as beautiful as I remembered it. Yuki is such an elegant prince. Tohru should be most shocked that she shared a bed with an almost high schooler (and almost bathed together as well) hahahah xD Momiji still s'q <33333 Ppl who know the proprietress' child will find her reaction extra hilarious LMFAOOOOO. |
| I liked this episode, although I understand why there has been some debate over the traveler's story. I mean, I understand the feeling of having someone so thankful for what they have and so loving in their heart but telling the story the way they have still encourages people (especially women) to give everything and tell them it's okay if they are abused. I mean, no one helped out the traveler in the story, this shows quite a point! What's with Momiji abusing of Tohru's ignorance and sleeping with her too? And I do hope Shigure is not serious about his present... I loved Tohru taking her mother's picture to the onsen, she is so cute. Lots of love and kindness again :) |

| This episode was amazing! I love it to bits and I really feel that it brought these set of chapters to life. That being said, there was one thing that I did miss a bit. It wasn't in the episode, understandably so, since it was a 2001 anime only addition. But it is so adorable that we need to include it in the discussion of this episode at the very least... I'll start! ♪ Who's in the forest strolling? ♪ |

| Momiji's story on the dumb traveller is quite morbid and tragic, even more surprising is Momiji's age. Seeing the Hostess already being such a strange woman makes me curious to see how strange her kid, the monkey zodiac, is. |

| There's a double edged duality between the beauty & cruelty of the traveler's story. I love how FB constantly portrays the ups & downs of Tohru's seemingly perfect kindness, using Yuki & Kyo as the foils that help to protect & balance her from burning herself out by sacrificing too much. |

| What a wholesome episode, Tohru really needs to be more careful with her money next time but at the same time she really had good intentions and wanted to get something for the Soumas. Apparently there was a story that Momoiji read about the Traveller and he pretty much describes the Traveller not as a stupid person but a person who wanted to help but there were people in the story that took advantage of that Traveller’s kindness which I think is rather clever I think because it describes Tohru perfectly. But it’s a good thing that Tohru herself has people like Kyo and Yuki to balance her out as it were, to protect her from such things happening so easily. The story itself was a mixture of tragic and…horrific I mean I know the people in the story are meant to be awful people and then the traveller ends up dealing with demons and they eat her up but jeez it went pretty gruesome near the end. Also I love the way how it was animated, love the visuals for it, making me think of like a picture book or something out of a fairy tale which honestly fits the theme of Fruits Basket altogether. The oddest thing about this episode is mainly Momiji’s age. He honestly doesn’t look or act like a 15 year old as he says at the end of the episode then again l’ve had a similar situation with Honey-senpai from Ouran where he was WAAAAY older than he should be. So that bit doesn’t really phase me that much but it is kind of worrying that he was sleeping in the same bed with Tohru who is literally a year older than he is. It’s such a weird situation there, it really is. Anyways the host that ran the inn was very crazy at times but a nice woman regardless. And that Yuki, man, he really is a prince with that little gesture he did with Tohru on the bridge by giving her a new ribbon. They don’t call him by that title for nothing. Otherwise like I said it was a very wholesome episode to be sure. |
| Wait...WHAT!? Momiji and Haru are the same age?! 😵 Watching Tohru's realization that she slept next to a boy only a year younger had me in stiches! 🤣 But amidst the fun, Momiji’s tale of the 'Traveller's silly story' really struck a chord with me. The way he relates it to Tohru, showing his desire to protect her innocence rather than mock it like his classmates, added such a beautiful layer of depth to his character. 🥰It was a truly touching moment that highlighted the purity and kindness in their friendships. 🥺💖 But the best part of the episode for me was THE moment when Yuki gives Tohru his White Day present. My heart was pounding out of my chest! 😍😍😍 It's high time for Tohru to realize Yuki is the one, and maybe leave Kyo for Kagura? Seems like the perfect balance to me! 😆🥰❤️ And oh, the anticipation to finally meet the Monkey, even if the initial introduction through her mother's reaction didn’t exactly fill me with Zodiac pride. 🤣 Here's hoping this character defies expectations and becomes a lovable addition to the cast. 🙈🤭❤️ |
