| Q2 2025 at earliest. Theatrical releases are generally slower than TV because schedules are unnegotiable - you have to be 100% ready when the date comes, unlike TV shows where episodes can get postponed with a week or two and it's not that huge of a deal. |
| Jesus the replies are shit. Volume 6 was done in 2023. Even if the movie finishes covering volume 4 there 2 volumes left. That's more than enough for another season if it's single cour like the last one. |

| the New Year is approaching folks. studio Nexus has released nothing about the movie in... well May 26th was that one event... now seven months? Nexus actually hasn't done ANYTHING... no projects... not a thing since S2. not even a pump n dump moneymaker to keep the employees paid and the lights on. Dec 20th was the 1 Year anniversary of the S2 final episode. how does an anime studio survive 12 months without completing and selling at least one project? have they farmed out all their talent to supporting other anime studios as outsourced workers and sub-sub-contractors? now, timing... let's take a look at S1 and S2. 20 episodes and 12. suspicious episode counts don'tcha think? even considering S2Ep8? wasn't that the hotsprings resort one? cmon that was anime original fanservice right? S1 ran from Oct 5, 2022 to Feb 15, 2023 and S2 ran from Oct 4, 2023 to Dec 20, 2023... that's a definite gap of 7 months and several weeks between S1 final episode and S2 first one... enough time to create 12 episodes? i think not. so... my hypothesis is.... the entire project was planned out for the 24+ idea... but Nexus couldn't slap together 24 eps in time, so it was dropped to 20 leaving... well... the TV networks high n dry for those timeslots post Feb 15th 2023...when Winter TV season doesn't end till March 31st. the drop in ep count for S1 just got picked up with S2 having 11 eps sourced and 1 original fanservice one. but... looking at LN Vol4? by Chapter Titles TV S2 dropped off somewhere in Chapter 4? or the Auxiliary Chapter in-between Ch3 & 4? let's see... LN publication dates in Japan; does this factor in? Vol1 Nov 5, 2018. Vol2 Mar 5, 2019. Vol3 Jul 26, 2019. Vol4 Feb 26, 2021. Vol5 Dec 28, 2022. Vol6 Oct 30, 2023. as you can see from those books' date of release to the Japanese public in paper form... Vols. 1-4 were already out to the public for around 4 years and creeping downwards slowly to... S1Ep1 Vs. LN Vol4... 1 year 7 months and a few weeks. so before anybody anywhere could have started work on S1... the books were out there to work on, at least the first three... Vol3-4 did have a gap of 1 year 7 months and some change. so... meh? maybe the reason S2Ep8 got inserted in was to fluff the length of S2 to exactly fit the halfway point inside LN Vol4 annnnd still stretch the 2nd Season to 12eps? if the movie ONLY does the leftovers of LN Vol4... that leaves Vols5 & 6.... Nexus somehow stretched out 2 books into 20 eps... which is... i don't get it but meh... shrug... the 3-4 LN Vol to 12 ep formula is pretty standard... so LN Vol6 is 1 year and almost 2 months old now... my SWAG at the movie's release date? (scientific wild a$$ guess) sometime in the first 6 months of 2025 and S3 will hit TVs etc. before or in Fall 2025... movies aren't easy to schedule and get theater corps to buy into... even Japan's love for a good anime movie can't exactly sell a crapton of screens... just a buttload of showings each day. Eminence in Shadow isn't Demon Slayer: Mugen Train or... whatchamacallit Castle which is gonna be 3 movies... what i'm SERIOUSLY worried about? Sentai Filmworks got Eminence for the US/North America etc. and will they get the movie for Eminence? i'm not even wondering for a second about US theatrical release... Sentai does NOT have the deep pockets of Funi-Roll/Aniplex at putting out an anime movie in US/Canada/Mexico theaters. i just hope Sentai streams the Eminence movie before S3 pops up... or at all... and i can find it somewhere free... without having to make do with a camrip or a shoddily cracked Press Only Disk.
