Downie logic, in two ways. First, I'm replying to you, i.e. someone who posted 4 days ago. The thread had already been revived through your post, so mine is only pushing it up from 4 days, not 9 months. Second, and much more importantly, reasoning and intent matters. Can an usher not kick out a heckler out of a threater because they'd also be disrupting the show? Can a police officer not speed to catch up to a speeder? Can the military not stop a war criminal with military force? If me letting you know via a reply stops you from reviving 9-month old posts, then it's worth the potential hassle of reviving a 4-day old thread.

To actually address your comment: while dubs could make the show easier to watch, there have been many instances where the dub changes the translations too much, and it causes issues down the line. If you want the experience as intended by the creator, watch subbed (well, technically, learn Japanese and watch just the Japanese dub, but 2nd best is reading the subs).

I find this hard to believe as most dubs released nowadays have had 0 complaints about any "translation changes".

So yes this was clearly a thing in the past, yet nowadays, not so much.
