I'm really like the adaptation! Really sucks that hype isn't picking it up.

UU is on Netflix in some regions also Tengoku Daimakyou was on D+/Hulu too and was decently popular.

That's a true pity. It's not my favorite anime, but is still a fun show. May end up going to the manga if the second season never comes. Though, to be honest, I would prefer if DavidPro focuses on the third season of Fire Force after UU ends.

I blame DavidPro for this horrible adaptation, the fact that most of the world cant even watch it legally not helping at all

All of you are forgetting one thing: there are too many streaming platforms and they need content. That's why many manga are being adapted now even if it's not that famous. Also you can't measure things by Japan alone anymore. If the project is being funded by Hulu/Disney+ and it got a decent viewership in the west it'll get a continuation. Heck if it tanked it may get a continuation as well simply because these platforms need content*.
I wouldn't worry about this.

*This is cheaper to produce than live action stuff, less chances of projects not seeing a continuation if there is material for it.

@Delakruan Oh, fuck off. Overusage of flashbacks aside, there's nothing horrible about this adaptation at all.

eh, I planned on reading the manga after the anime ends anyway; it is what it is.
Don't believe the hype.

@Oongbuh Maybe I exaggerated a bit
But the amount of flashbacks is ridiculous
Normally this doesn't bother me, but here it really ruins my enjoyment of the series

It's a good show honestly. And it definitely deserves more attention. But idk why, I'm just not as invested in it as I am in other shows. Like, whenever an ep drops I end up watching it after a few days. I'm just not as excited for them as other shows. But whenever I watch the eps I really enjoy them.

I'm always looking forward to the eps from Frieren, The Apothecary Diaries, Dangers in my Heart, etc. But it isn't the same with Undead Unluck and idk why.

I really wanna completely invest in this show because I think it's a great show. The power system is pretty unique, the main duo is great too and the whole concept is also pretty unique.

It'll be sad to see it go completely after S1. I really hope the sales boost somehow.

I have quite the same feeling.

I think they had a great idea to start with, but they haven't been able to develop it, and as a result, it is slowly falling flat. While the first few episodes got me engaged very quick and left me wanting to know more, a lot of things feel stale by now.

Ig. I still haven't watched the last 2 Eps. But I'll most probably enjoy them when I watch them.

This is also bc of where it’s streaming, hulu/Disney+

The same sort of thing happened to Summer Time Render and Heavenly Delusion where the platform they’re streaming on doesn’t promote it almost at all therefore it barely gets talked about even when, like the aforementioned three shows, they’re really good. Quite a shame

This anime streams everywhere in Japan btw

@opioids I should’ve specified that I meant in the US it’s only streaming on Hulu or Disney+ depending on where you are in the country

the manga is pretty good actually, the characters are interesting, even the side characters got so much love, even though so many plot twists lol, I really enjoyed it. In the other side, the pacing in anime is so bad actually, too many recaps and unnecessary changes from manga

I like the flashbacks because the manga is SO plot heavy that I think it's honest that it needs it. When I read it I had to re-read each volume when a new one came out

I'm fine with it not getting a sequel. I really love this anime, especially the shaft-style production and the first 4 episodes. But I tend to get bored of Shounen Jump anime/manga pretty quickly so who knows whether I'll even finish the anime.

I actually started this anime with the intention of dropping it after 4 episodes. Since the season is so crowded and it's a Shounen Jump anime. I ended up going over 4 episodes but I'm fine with 24 as the upper limit. If they make a season 2 I probably won't ever get around to watching it.

Yes, this. With so many anime each season even good stuff gets buried. I hope they slow down to a more reasonable pace.

Even outside of the adaptation, the source material has plots jumping around like a shark on a guy in the middle of the ocean. And waaay too many side characters to develop/get attached too.

People dont actually like it when its mostly manservice and the fan service for the primary demographic is groping. Double standards, I know.

You can blame the distribution of the anime for that. People can hate Crunchyroll all they want but it's a fact that anime are way more successful if they're on that platform since it is the most popular anime streaming platform. Everything else is mid and completely kill a series.

How bad can the series really be doing if its nearly 200 chapters long? That's a solid benchmark of success these days. I'm sure everyone that has money riding on this series would love for it to be killing it but I think its obviously too much to ask for a revival of the days when every mid-ass shounen series got a 75+ episode anime run that was half-filler anyway.
