| Geez, grandma needs to get out the stick up her anus?! If she kicks Tsubasa out, he may as well go live with the Fuyuki household. I bet they wouldn't mind. So far, not a fan of the new girl either. The quirky gaijin is such a painfully cringy trope to watch as a non-Japanese person. Also, it wouldn't kill to give her a proper heritage; ambiguous foreigners as major cast members are somewhat of a pet peeve for me. The most unenjoyable episode so far but since the show has its moments, I'll see it through. |

| Grandma is super annoying. Other than that, I appreciate how they made the characters realistically weird. The gamer girl is awkward but obsessed with games. The white-haired girl is erratic and strangely chuuni. Tsubasa is just the abused kid. Like, bruh, I know he likes Hokkaido, but personally I wouldn't take that disrespect. |

| Does Minami even pay attention in class? Rip. I wonder what punishment the grandma will give Tsubasa for not following the rules. The grandma is such a bitch wtf is her problem? I'm sure she has good intentions, but she's not doing a good job at being nice about it. Strict parents/guardians only make children more secretive and get good at hiding things lol and I know this from experience. Rena was good to switch back into normal mode and act like nothing happened. She came up with a plan too without hesitating meanwhile Tsubasa would've dug a bigger hole for himself. |

| Exams is the final stretch, and Minami doesn't feel the best, though it seems normal for Tsubasa. And a study session at her place? How can he say no? Reeling Sayuri into the mix, it seems natural for Minami, though both the former and Tsubasa really have never been to her room before. And other than her studies, Minami's Hokkaido knowledge is rather impressive for first impressions, but too bad, that's not the test questions. And when the study session is over, Tsubasa is way psat his curfew, though he has to meet Minami's mother on the door out. Yet, she still is supportive of Tsubasa after her own daughter almost fell her face flat on Valentine's the previous episode, what a good mother....as opposed to his own grandmother, who is rather strict of him. The 3rd girl has finally made her appearance: Rena Natsukawa, though she's one heck of a beauty at first glance, winning the school's beauty pageant equivalent. But the study sessions will have to put on hold, because of Tsubasa's strict family and Sayuri's insistence on studying instead of chitchatting. For a change of pace, Tsubasa studying in the library, and having to witness Rena taking a nap as a librarian, she can't help but notice him. Clearly, Tsubasa's grandmother does not appreciate his deficiency, and wants to strengthen his mental fortitude, though having Rena as next-door neighbours...she can be dignified in public, though lovely in private. What's a son to do when he's deep in love? Score high, or have his bags packing back to Tokyo... |

| I'm gonna make a wild guess that the grandma is protecting Tsubasa from girls suddenly flocking to him because he brings the notoriety of being rich and from Tokyo. Maybe she's keeping him from making the same mistake his father made marrying a golddigger/terrible mother. The grandma's disdain for Fuyuki when she first saw her was evident that she didn't want her grandson to have anything to do with her because she probably saw this play out before with her own son (Shiki's dad). |

There were jobs for everyone, and for people with education employers were lining up. Now the economy is growing more slowly. There are a lot of people who have been in their jobs for a long time and they're not going anywhere. Life expectancy has gone up. A lot of industries were created from scratch in Japan in the 60s and 70s. When Tsubasa's Grandma was young, there was less competition in the labour market, more opportunities, and the cost of educated labour was higher. And even 30 years ago, businesses were much more local. A shop didn't have to compete with Amazon. Business processes themselves were also simpler. Product output is less malleable, the product range is narrower. Modern education, if it is average, is more complex than it was 50 years ago. It's not about individual tasks, it's about the total amount of data, the number of disciplines and the approach to students. |
