| No, not really. I mean its about people playing VR games. There is like a arc that the anime wont cover, and I guess that is technically stakes cus IRL it would be for money. |

@unlocked1 Its not the anime that I hate. It's the people who call it a masterpiece, the greatest anime ever, better than Mushoku Tensei or Tensura.
Its them that make me not like it.
Its a decent show. But has so many glaring writing mistakes and painful story telling, how and people love it so much is beyond me.
I mean Kirito is a meme come on. It is a 6/10 show at best. Few momemenst are 6/10. Or lower most of the time.

| @ANR23 After calling SAO trash then you compare it to Mushoku tensei, I laugh my ass. SAO is better than mushoku tensei pedophile story. Even MT fans is worst still defending the Pedophile MC. For tensura the manga maybe good, but the anime too much talking like it was powerpoint manga panel move with a sound. then the way they speak also so slow, I had to speed it up to 1.5x playback speed. But at least second cour S3 they improve it a bit that they speak like a normal person without have to put drama each time they spoke, and skip some unnecessary dialogue. |
| Of course there are stakes, but it'sjust different kind of stakes than SAO has. There competive game tournament arc for example. And of course Fighting 7 colossi have some stakes as they are one of kind bosses. It's never dead serious, but it's not like there are no goals. |
| Shangri la is about enjoying the journy. No need for stakes outside losing in the game. |

| Oh boi. SAO novel is a complete utter trash written by a person who can't decide what 2+2 should be equal to. It took him over a decade to learn how to write and at some point his writing was passable. SAO original story was beautiful and touching, albeit written in an unreadable manner. SAO anime season 1 part 1 was adopted with so much love and care, merging in some later stories, it was a blessing in an ocean of stupidity back in the days. It was directed and drawn amazingly and it was very pleasant to watch. Except a few stupid moments. SAO anime season 1 part 2 shouldn't exist. Kirito and his one and only waifu defeated the grand evil, saved the day and the world, and were united in death. The end. Everything SAO that was made after that point is the laziest and stupidest cash grab. Because people just don't have brains and keep consuming trash. Tensei season 1 part 1 was really nice. Lolicon aside, it's a good stuff. Tensei season 1 part 2 was okay. Not terrible, but starts showing lack of depth. Tensei season 2 is a crime against humanity. Aside just a couple of worthy moments, it's just boring and stupid. Sankaru is just boring and stupid. Fisrst few episodes are fine, but then it's a torture to watch. |

| The game has a rule that if the NPC dies they will die and be gone forever. So maybe we will have that kind of stake and drama for our beloved NPC at some point. |
