Some sort of answers until the old man got possessed. And then Hikaru has lost his head. He already can’t heal as well so who knows what this means for him now

Tbh what do yall say bout Yoshiki saying he ain’t attracted to Hikaru like that lmao- like I get it but it also feels like a deflection of the queer undertones of this story, I don’t want the author to do a cop out ughkk, I might be taking it at face value? But I don’t know how else to take it

@ueuuu-tan There's a lot going on and I'm sure they both have a ton of complex emotions about their current situation that are hard for kids to process. Best to let the story develop a little more before making judgements about what the author is doing.

@ueuuu-tan i agree with what aeronaut88 said but i also believe it isnt the author denying the queer implications theyve put in the story rather i think its just yoshiki himself not exactly ready to admit or at least accept that he does in fact like hikaru as more than a best friend. if it was a cop out i dont believe the author would have even included “hikaru” asking yoshiki that. but of course this is just what i believe and the story has yet to be finished/ told to the fullest extent so we will have to see

Yoshiki no longer sees old Hikaru in new Hikaru. Yes, in flesh it's the same Hikaru, but the "soul" is different. Yoshiki liked Hikaru, but he didn't simply like "Hikaru's body". Yoshiki came to accept that Hikaru is gone so him saying those words makes sense. Yoshiki can't be attracted to a totally different creature simply because he looks like the person he liked.

@Sigmar-Unberogen I'm super late commenting on this, but I love the way you've phrased this.

I really like the way the author has written this complexity of emotions. Earlier in the story, Yoshiki says something like, "I'm looking at Hikaru's remains right now" with this really fond smile on his face... and then a few panels later, he bursts into tears after saying "I really miss Hikaru."

For him to still be grieving the loss of Hikaru (especially after it's revealed that Yoshiki saw Hikaru's dead body on the mountain) and struggling with the presence of this not-Hikaru - I imagine it has to be really tough to convey the layers of emotion that Yoshiki is experiencing, but I really appreciate how it's being done.
