First part was in reply to I think someone who was getting angry at people who said Subaru was being an idiot, this person argued that they didn't understand the trauma of dying and general confusion or something along those lines and didn't get what it's like to be in his shoes:
They do it's just that they wouldn't be like Subaru even if they were in his position, I could never beat up those 3 guys in that alley, but I probably wouldn't even end up in that alley to begin with nor attempt to fight them. And most other people would simply have figured out the time loop/reset thing a lot sooner, everybody has their own qualities. Clearly Subaru is way more physically capable and skilled than I am, but I'd say either his intelligence is below average or just in this particular area of "analysis" I suppose, he strikes me as someone with ADHD, not necessarily "stupid" at all but kind of oblivious to details when they aren't paying attention.
This Part was in reply to someone saying the time loop wasn't that easy to notice and that most people wouldn't notice:
It was pretty damn obvious, people repeating the same stuff, same interactions, seeing people who died in front of you... anyone with a basic understanding of a time loop would understand it almost immediately and most certainly somewhere during the 2nd attempt. Even if someone had no understanding of time loops, respawning or anything of the sort it's matter of putting 2 and 2 together. Not saying everyone could do it but anyone with average or above intelligence should be able to figure it out during the first "reset" even if you were from bloody medieval time you'd figure it out, maybe you'd freak out, panic or scream witchcraft but you would understand the basic concept of what just happened.
This final part was simply my own comment on the episode:
3:45 I've never met anyone this slow, okay that's a lie but damn his inability to put two and two together is amazing.
Most people would have realized the moment they first re-spawned, to the guy not only repeating the same phrase but also not remembering anything they did like finding his kid and bringing her back to her mom etc, then running into the exact same three guys let alone finding someone he'd seen die in front of his eyes and it's beyond impressive that, he wasn't like "I'm in danger" and realized that the killer was on their way to kill the giant guy once again. Like I have to applaud him for beating up those three guys before and remembering which one had the knives because I probably would have just gave them my stuff or ran away. So he's pretty physically though defenitly a lot more confident than I would be but he ain't very bright at least not when it comes to figuring things like this out, he's also absolutely a guy who is so clueless it's like he's looking to die, not only does he enter the dark alley over and over again, a reasonable first step would be finding some work or finding somewhere to transfer your money and stuff for the money of this world, probably buying like at least a knife and finding a place to sleep and from there plan ahead, this guy is like what happens to someone with ADHD in an open-world game they will stumble into the first boss 5 minutes from when they leave spawn.
Trying to go with the same route but "fixing it" is reasonable once you figure out it's a time loop because it's sort of an amazing super power although the price is pretty steep, he could have realistically already fixed it on his second attempt but now he's only realized it's even a loop once he's dying on his 3rd attempt, on the upside he's got all the time in the world and no matter how bad he messes up any interaction it just gets reset when he dies (so far that is I wouldn't know maybe it changes throughout the series somehow), that upside is also it's downside it means he'll have to "regain" his relationships but that is pretty easy considering all he has the do is the exact same thing he did before except maybe not die this time. |
