Yup, I knew it. Being the selfless person she is, Chise would do anything to help a friend no matter how much they've changed.

It was an emotional episode from both sides but for Chise, it was also a dark experience. Elias had an interesting role this episode too, not only for his wisdom but also showing how much he cares about Chise again.

I really like the design of Philomela's evil form, really cool looking .. whatever that was, very, fairy like.

Now, while rash words for sure, the director grandma was actually telling straight facts, i understand that Chise wants to help everyone ... but in my country we have a saying, that you can't help people who refuse help, and sadly that's Philomela.

I know it's her evil grandma fault and all, but still, her being a complete stranger to people who obviously wanted to help her is not a good thing either. Also, Chise is now a dragon .. ok, xD

The werewolves are out in full force, and the College has beckoned Philomela as the culprit of the forbidden Testament of Carmichael.

A mental war between grandmother and daughter to open the College as Chise and the others are protected by the amulets, disaster strikes at all corners as they try to grapple the sequence of events enveloping around the magic school. Sure, for Chise, it's weighing her options as Philomela is now no longer herself and corrupted by the book, and Elias brings a good point about drawing a fine line being students and being friends, and Elias essentially helped Chise pave a way to save Philomela. Naturally, the others want in as well, and even Zaccheroni will assist them too.

Without warning, the Dragon's Curse witin Chise comes to light, and Elias hides them away for it presumes a nightmare. With the magic book returned, Alcyone stands guard against those interrupting the ritual to bring her parents back to life, and for the rest, they were sucked into Elias's internal body while Chise follows the underground veins to reach the place of origin of the offering. Alcyone wanting to comfort her, but she's at a loss of words...leading back to the man who created her: Adam Sargant, with the mission to protect Philomela.

Plot is thickening and being answered...

Chise's dragon curse in action! But it seemed like she activated it unknowingly.
"You'll be consumed by old maternal instincts" "Have you prepared the offering, maiden?" This gives me really bad vibes.
Really good stuff.

Philomela in her current state is heartbreaking. I just want her to be free and have a happy ending. I do think Chise, while well-intentioned, needed a little bit of a wake up call from the old lady. Going full dragon was cool!

Looks like Chise has forgot her offering to the winter queen. S1E6 touched on this. I totally forgot what the offering was myself 😂

These episodes, there is no stopping now.

Can't get mad at the Headmistress, she is right and while Chise being well intentioned she really needs some scolding much like the centaur did, the grandma, man even after all that Philomela did she didn't even bother to acknowledge her, baby Philomela so cute, I can't wait for next episode and they better not kill / sacrifice Alcyone : (

So the old hag had Philomena steal that book to resurrect her son and who knows what else she's going to do with it. I doubt she'll resurrect Philomena's mother too, since she wants to control her son. If his wife was at play that might not be possible.

As for Philomena her need to be praised is literally obsessive. Is that narcissism or a result of long-term abuse by that repulsive hag? I'm eager to see the hag die a violent painful death.

Super hyped to know what's happening with Philomela's parents and the whole connection with the spider family.

Alcyone, you gotta give yourself the role of parent for Philomela!!!

Super cool moment of Chise too. Love when she does stuff like that.

Things continue to escalate quickly with Philomela successfully being able to get the barrier dropped around the college and being able to fully escape with the magic book in hand, even though she's starting to fall apart herself. As with the Centaur back in the first part, the Headmaster herself was right to criticise Chise's constant compassion and desire to help everyone.

Having said that, Elias was also right to step into this debate and offer his opinion on the matter, which gave Chise the route needed to go and save Philomela while disregarding the headmaster's warning completely. Her transformation into a dragon was pretty awesome, too. =)

With that, Chise and Elias head off to go and save Philomela, with Lucy, Zoe, Isaac and even Zaccheroni joining up as well. Still, dealing with Philomela's grandmother, with the magic book in hand, will be difficult. It does look like the next episode will delve into more backstory involving Alcyone and the one who created her, Adam Sargent.

Once again, this episode was really good with how things are getting more intense. I do look forward to this backstory next time, hopefully with more potential character development for Alcyone.

Chise is a dragon now?? Is that a part of the dragons curse?
And I guess the goddess is here now?

I love this show but the pacing is killing me.

Chise's power is growing rapidly --- through her emotions so far. I like the turning point of this episode of trying to help Philomela and everyone around her as she wants to be the "big sister" to them. I cant wait to see what is in store for Chise. Now a red dragon with golden eyes wow!!

I do see that her familiar is less important in this Part Two then the other seasons. I wonder if she is branching out because of her Sleigh Bag magic or the curses she has.

Even the introduction to unfamiliar magic and sorcery is leveling up for this season especially a small glimpse in Part One -- even through the poster art for Part Two; new villain's behind the scene because the trigger of the book?

Yeah. I have a feeling her mind is unfixable even with magic at this point. She'll never get justice nor peace of mind methinks.

Apparently her role is to show how nasty their world can be and add drama and tragedy to the mix so I say kill her off already. It's dragging too much and we get the point already.

Man, I feel kinda disappointed with how this is going. From the start, the principal looked like a very strong character, and after all the building up the previous chapters with the golems and all those days within the barrier, when the enemy appears the best the school had to offer was a bear-man? and to make it look even more lame the next scene chise transforms into a dragon out of nowhere.

I know the root of all this is the Old Hag aka Philomela's grandma. but still i honestly hate Philomela's cowardice. the fact that she didn't even once tried to fight for her freedom and put in effort. makes me question her self. and if it is confirmed that she is the kid that caused Lucy's family to die and caused her to suffer, then yeah. all of what happened to Philomela up until now, she deserves it. the fact that she was sorry that she killed innocent people but still didn't fight for her freedom makes me hate her character more. i genuinely want a happy ending for her. she deserves that at least. but i will not deny that everything happened to her until now was because of herself as well. so it was well deserved.

It's not cowardice. Philomela have been tortured since she was a small child and told all this time that she's a failure, worthless, should be dead and a shame on her family just by being born. She's been broken as a child and then molded into something grandma can use. It is almost impossible for anyone in her situation to break free even with help from others.

the principal was very right about chise not being able to help everyone, but we all know chise is bad at listening, so I am happy she has elias and the others to back her up. from elias I expected it, the others did take me off guard, but I am so hyped to see where this goes.

Damn ok Chise turning into a dragon was not something i would of thought of but it was great to see. You can tell how impactful her doing this in the story is gonna be when you have Elias commenting how this wasn't good and also giving the solemn expression all journey, and how she's caught the attention of another ancient other worldly entity which i'm guessing is the either the tax collector picking up what's due for using those spells or a judge for Chise breaking the rules of the world.
Once again, love the concepts in the show, Chise turning into a dragon or the appearance and idea of the ancient entity picking up what's due, is just so amazing to watch.

Ngl i do kinda miss old s1 formula of just having Chise and Elias solving problems, or a smaller cast, personally i just thought it was easier to stomach but also made the atmosphere a lot more tense.
I do also like how they're brought up how Mages and Sorcerers differ again, even though they have in the past and even if this time as an excuse to go after Philomela, they've spent so much time in the college that i sometimes forget, and i always thought the differences between the two factions would be shown off more ever since Chise and Elia's clash with Renfred.

Next episode looks to be Alcyone and Philomela focused which, idk if i can stomach, i'm already sobbing at what's happening to them now and just want the two to be happy man.

The principal was spitting facts this episode: Don't be a rash hotheaded shounen protagonist if you want to save the peopl you actually care about cause this is not the forgiving type of anime.

Elias proved why he is a top tier husbando by first telling Chise that he is proud of how far she has matured because she's now more like Aladdin and less like Natsu. He then proceeds to encourage her to honor her contract while cheekily taking shots at the principal.

Chise shows us her immense power once again by transforming into a freaking Dragon and flying across the world through the underground ley lines. The Winter Goddess is back to collect her offering that Chise apparently promised.

I need this bitch grandma to die immediately.

I'm confused, what exactly was the strategy in the school? Let's remove the barrier and then attack her when she can get help from outside? That was pretty dumb.
