'Highspeed Étoile' Reveals Additional Cast, First Promo, Spring 2024 Premiere

The official website of Highspeed Étoile television anime revealed additional cast, first promotional video, and a character visual (pictured) on Friday. The anime is scheduled to premiere in April 2024.

Yukari Tamura (Steins;Gate) and Toru Furuya (Kidou Senshi Gundam) are joining the cast as Ami and the Narrator, respectively.

Highspeed Etoile is an original racing anime produced in collaboration with the Japanese racing series Super Formula, featuring original character design by Takuya Fujima (ViVid Strike! , Senyoku no Sigrdrifa).

Because of such noticeable CGI, it looks like some kind of budget web series or an old animation for a computer game with cute girls. Also, Yostar and random men? No excessive fanservice?

@RobertBobert Its just another one of those repurposed idol projects that didn't get the pass, so they transformed it into racing with dog ass looking cgi.

@Swagernator But people will continue to insist that it is isekai that is creating the oversupply.

Well, I will still give this one a shot, but the CG really looks underwhelming and the characters's expressions way too stiff.

I'm glad we're getting so many racing anime recently, but the animation really isn't my thing.

It looks nice. I prefer more 2D scenes but things that go full cgi like Magnificent Kotobuki were very fun to watch and the characters look very pretty.
Also, car racing games have been around since the 80s, so they have no excuses not to have some good racing scenes from inside and outside the cars. As long as it has good action scenes and a good rivalry/story then this should be awesome ++
