The 12th and final episode of the Jidou Hanbaiki ni Umarekawatta Ore wa Meikyuu wo Samayou (Reborn as a Vending Machine, I Now Wander the Dungeon) television anime announced a second season on Wednesday.

Produced by Studio Gokumi and AXsiZ, the first season aired in Summer 2023. Crunchyroll simulcasts the anime with subtitles and dubs in multiple languages.

The anime adapts Hiru Kuma's comedy fantasy light novel, which began on the Shousetsuka ni Narou website in March 2016. Kadokawa began publishing the light novel with illustrations by Itsuwa Katou under its Sneaker Bunko imprint in August of that year. The third volume shipped in February 2017.

Kunieda began drawing a manga adaptation in Dengeki Daioh last August. Kadokawa released the second volume on March 25.

Yen Press licensed both light novels and manga in English. The third and final volume of the light novel was released in December 2018. The manga's first volume shipped on April 18.

Synopsis
A man with a passion for vending machines awakens to realize that he has not only died, but he has also been reborn as one of his beloved machines! Although he is a modern appliance in a fantasy world, he requires money in order to keep functioning. He is stuck in one location until a young girl named Lammis stumbles upon him. Amazed by the drinks and food he sells, Lammis uses her "Blessing of Might" to lift him with ease and take him back to the village of Clearflow Lake. There, she officially dubs him Boxxo.

Despite his inability to converse with the villagers, Boxxo becomes an essential part of the community. His goods provide nourishment, and, as he gains new abilities and products, he becomes a staple of daily life. Nobody is as loyal to Boxxo as his first and best customer, Lammis. The more time he spends with her, the more he tries to help her elevate her skills as a young hunter. [Written by MAL Rewrite]

So they decided on 2 cours from the start. It's insane how even the trashiest isekai titles can get 2 cour anime adaptations without even trying, solely for being isekai.

Not even close to the worst thing that could get a second season.

And if it makes people mad because of its ridiculous premise, more power to it.

Happy for the news. Even when the idea is dumb, it was a good show.

Well you can already tell who judged the series based on the premise and called it bad without watching it.

This is a nice comfy series. Deserves a second season.

@komic People who hate shows because of the premise are even cooler than people who give shows low ratings just because they don't suit their tastes.

This was a show that surprised me with how creative it got with using different vending machines in different situations, without going the typical route of giving it a human body
(yet, at least). It's also relaxing, fun, and Lammis is really cute, so I'm glad we got another season.

I'm only 4 episodes in and it's a pretty fun series so far, it's nice to have shows like this that are unserious and just dumb fun. Not sure why people get so pressed because it's getting more content actually I do know why it's because it's an isekai lol.
People on MAL refuse to actually enjoy watching anime.

Your taste in anime isn't a personality trait.

MAL is literally just anime Twitter as its own website lol.

@DarkDooM2 This was a rhetorical question, because as said above, many people hate this show because of the goofy premise without watching it.

For those that didn't know since this article doesn't mention it, the Light Novel was recently rebooted in June/July and 2nd Volume of it was published in September 1st, hopefully with the boost in popularity given in Japan with the Manga and Anime, the LN this time finish since is a completed work as a Web Novel, since the previous version was actually axed (the previous version of the LN was removed from sale in japanese online retails too)

Well this may clear some doubts on how the Anime season 2 going to proceed too, but the source which is the WN is already completed and hopefully the LN become a completed work too

The Kadokawa push is real.
This show ain't even produced by Kadokawa tho, despite the light novel being published by them.

I went in expecting nothing out of this anime but it turned to be funny actually. It doesn't take itself too seriously, and that lets you forgive some of its weirdness.
In my mind it still belongs to the "trash anime" section, but that doesn't make any less fun - actually I think it makes it more fun! lol

Definitely watching Season 2!

This is, no joke, probably my third favorite series of the year thus far. I won't be surprised if the year finishes with it remaining in at least the top five. And this is coming from someone who doesn't watch too many isekais compared to the total amount which are put out, or compared to the average intensive anime watcher of many seasonals.

I will definitely watch a second season.

I would also be interested to see if the reincarnated into a pig isekai series set to debut in the coming autumn season can rival or top it.

I've been watching it but haven't finished it yet. I think this anime is okay but not really fantastic. So my question is, why don't they make a new anime adaptation with a similar theme instead of making a sequel? There are still many interesting isekai manga. Does adapting a new anime cost more money than making a sequel? Because making a sequel to this anime would just be a waste of resources. Or is it actually a popular anime that makes a lot of profit?

@Elior21 From my answer, obviously yes. It's still a one-time show with a very goofy premise, but that's enough for me.
