Man, this episode just gives off an ominous vibe.

The storytelling and lore with Reno being part of the focus is chilling enough. But more so, this whole drama between humans and demons seems to have no end. Also noticable is the coloring of this episode that contrasts with others. What an ending, damn.

So Reno finally confesses her feelings onto Shin.

The colors and format of this episode was kinda chilling and added on to the eeriness of this episode. Seeing how Shin has changed, Reno realizes she loves him, and proposes marriage to him! Aharthern is abuzz with excitement over their wedding ceremony. Meanwhile, the day of Shin's reincarnation, who has done his duty, is also approaching.

Wow. Just Wow. Had to rewatch just to dissect everything and it was worth it. Although we have only been following them for a while, I feel connected to Reno and Shin and feel bad for my boy Shin. Fuck NousGalia. All my homies hate NousGalia. The way the entire episode was locked into 21:9 ratio and went into 16:9 at the end was beautiful showing how Shin’s love was restricted like the ratio, and when he finally feels like he’s a real person and feels love towards Reno as her demise comes, the ratio is also gone back to normal and is free and not restricted to the black lines. Beautiful ass episode man.

With now having thë knowledge of the past, it’s up to our present heroes to finish what was started a millennia ago

Daaamn that aspect ratio change was really cool. This whole scene is really nice.
What are they gonna do now that they know Misa's origins? Also where is Shin right now? Really looking forward to it.

The tragedy of two thousand years ago. I was right there with the characters at the end bawling my eyes out. Leno dying like that right as Shin is going away to reincarnate. That damn God Nousgalia returning at the worst time, souring the beautiful love that Leno had for Shin. They had a wonderful wedding that was amazing to see. Leno knowing that Shin would go to be with Anos two thousand years in the future so wanting to marry him before he left. Having a spicy wedding night leading to Leno being with child, only to find out its the fake demon Kings rumors and lore which are tied to the child. A gift turned cold by tampering with its rumors and lore like that. Shin still regarding the child as his own and willing to protect her no matter what, even by going against Anos and spreading lies about Avos Dillhevia so Misa could survive. Leno wanted desperately to create love in Shin heart and I think she did. He loves his daughter Misa no matter the situation of her birth or the conditions it takes to keep her alive. Leno dying was really sad and made me cry. I absolutely agree with what Anos said at the end of the episode, its time to get it all back.

“ I love you enough for both of us” damn they really cooked with this episode. The best Maou Gakuin has been in a long time. The letterbox effect and black and white aesthetic really added to the drama.

Seeing Leno and Shin gradually fall in love, get married, conceive a child and even come up with a plan to meet in the future only to have it ruined by Nousgalia is just heartbreaking. For a “heavenly God” he’s more of a demon than anyone in the story.

Shin was even willing to betray Anos for Leno, there’s no way that wasn’t real love. When we first met him during this flashback, he wouldn’t even speak or move unless it was an order. Leno taught him not just about love, but that it’s ok for him to exist. To think, have emotions, be himself, etc. just as he’d reached that point it was snatched away.

Think the girls’ crying reaction is all of us after that episode. Time to take the fight to Nousgalia.

Strangely enough, I'm not at all surprised or saddened by what I've seen, because I think everyone expected it, but more importantly. could someone explain to me why she died and am I the only one who doesn't understand this story when I watch it, is the source material really like this! xD

every time I see Reno I feel like someone is going to come out of nowhere and stab her, and broke every 2 min!!!

What an episode, I love it when it is monochrome / grayscale with a hint of colors to emphasize something and they did a great job with it, I specially liked right at the very end when Leno was touching her belly and there was a bit of color but then it was all gone when Nosgalia showed up. I'm not going to lie, they almost made me cry.

The show has gotten so much better after the "break".

She’s the mother of all pure spirits and she gave birth to half demon so that betrayed her lore.

I don't get how that contradicts her lore, if she is the mother of all spirits, she is also the mother of half ones by that logic.

My thoughts exactly. As the lore can change it'd be a smaller change to allow the child than to destroy her.

Also, what is the concept of "demon" supposed to be in this as the demons seem to be more good than the humans and on good terms with the spirits who have a pure nature?

Well I definitely wasn’t expecting this twist but I feel like I should have lol, so Misa aka Avos is Shin and Leno’s kid and they sent her to the future so she could live after Nous Galia forced Leno to give birth to her, this god really is a true blue asshole lol, it’s a damn shame what happened to these two but now we know the truth, I wonder how they plan to deal with Misa now, and also how there’s a Leno in the present unless I’m wrong about the person that’s definitely not her being her lol.

And I’m ngl I wasn’t the biggest fan of having most of the episode devoid of color, the whole time we’ve been in the past it has had color so it didn’t make much sense to me why it doesn’t have any all the sudden, I get it could be to set the tone but I felt it would have been better with color for consistency sake. That being said tho, I loved the moment when the color returned after Leno died at the end, I had a feeling that might happen at some point and it was done very nicely.

her lore isn't specific to include half spirits from Leno reaction she didn’t think it was possible. The lore seems to be just Pure Spirits alone. Otherwise she wouldn’t have disappeared

I can’t lie I’m starting to enjoy misfit of the demon king academy again.

I was a bit confused this episode because I was getting misha and misa mixed up because of there names being so similar.

But I cleared the confusion up by checking there names on mal. So avos (misa) is meant to be the child of Leno and shin if I’m not mistaken.

Best and sad episode of This season.

I'm absolutely amazed at how beautifully the silver link adapted this episode. It truly transported me to a different time, creating a feeling that I was too connected to it. It was simply gorgeous.

The conversation between Kannon and Shin was not only interesting but also revealed Kanon's deep understanding of Anos. He met Shin even though he knew he would die but still he didn't bring any weapons, It truly showcases Kanon as a hero in the truest sense and because of Leno teaching to shin about love he didn't kill him.

Exploring the past of Shin and Anos was incredibly cool!

The moments shared between Shin and Leno were incredibly sweet, albeit brief. Leno's heartfelt words, "I love you enough for both of us," were truly heart-wrenching. The ending, coupled with that perfect soundtrack, brought tears to my eyes once again. It evoked the same emotions I felt while reading the LN.

I'm now eagerly anticipating the next episode adaptation after Anos's reassuring words at the end. It should bring immense relief to most fans.

Why wasn't the child considered to be by Reno and Shin? Just because the child's lore is of Avos Dilhevia? Avos Dilhevia is supposed to be a demon king but Misa's physical creation was by Reno (Spirit) and Shin (Demon).

@StarZone1 @MomoSinx @PedroKarim64 let me explain about spirits in detail.

Spirits are the living embodiments of legends, folklore, rumors, desires, fears, and aspirations. When these beliefs become widespread, a spirit based on them is born. For example, an extreme fear of fire can lead to the birth of fire spirits, while a rise in religious faith can birth water spirits. However, not every rumor or legend results in a spirit, and there's no way to confirm it until the actual spirit is found.

Spirits also have no concept of reincarnation, though it's possible to change their nature by altering the lore that forms their existence. When this happens, their new lore will be added to the original ones, potentially granting them new abilities. An example of this would be the rumor that the Great Spirit Leno tears give birth to other spirits, which wasn't originally part of her lore but was later added due to complementing her original lore, granting her that ability. However, it's worth noting that spirits are most influenced by the legends and rumors that first created them, and contradictions in those can lead to their demise.

In the case of Leno, she was widely regarded by both humans and demons as the "Mother of all spirits." This belief centered around the notion that her unique ability was to give birth exclusively to spirits, a concept deeply ingrained in her lore, which defined her existence. However, when she contradicted this lore by giving birth to a half-demon, it directly contradicted her established mythos. This contradiction had significant consequences, including the shortening of her lifespan and, ultimately, her gradual fading from existence.

@TheColonel76 based on information provided. It's Fran, love spirit. But it's has a power to lend physical bodies to the dead. But they lost their memories, only with true love they can remember and conveys those memories. So sometimes in the next couple episode, i bet it's gonna turn to Leno. That's why this girl right now seem lost.

Fuck, this episode was beautiful. Say whatever you want about the pacing overall for this season, but I definitely loved Leno and Shin's story and it's easily the best part of the season so far, dare I say the whole series.

I always like it when shows uses 21:9 aspect ratio and they made this episode black and white, to top it off, they did it for more impact with Shin at the end, bringing back the colors and the normal aspect ratio, let's not forget the ballad version of Esoa as well, shit got me emotional.

Nousgalia better get the best ass whooping I'll ever see by the end of this season. Now if you'll excuse me, I will be listening to Esoa, the normal and ballad version for a while.

@PedroKarim64 from my understanding they planned to slowly change the lore o allow both to survive in the previously stated 10 months and 10 days ... but Nousgalia forced the child out too soon so the current lore didnt allow her to survive

Fairies born through lores and rumors. They had to live what the lores and rumors indicated to them. Once they make changes or differences from their lores, they will die or disappear. Reno/Leno was the great mother of fairies but a half fairy half demon child born from her which is wrong according to her lore. So that's why she died but nothing is impossible to Anos, he can revive her.
