Somari and the Guardian of the Forest
| As you probably know, Somali manga, which is the source material for this anime, has been canceled(the author was ill for a long time and unfortunately did not make new chapters for a long time). Currently, he has started a crwodfunding fundraiser for a new office where he will be able to create manga. He also mentioned that this would make possible to resume Somali. If I recall the author publicly expressed their frustration with the way smaller titles get treated by manga publishers so are they going to release it independently? I remember that after the manga was cancelled, he complained that to even start working on the series, he need money for a studio and assistants. Before hiatus, I think they were paid for by the publisher. Looks like he is trying to do it himself this time, but fans response doesn't look promising. Maybe Somali isn't popular enough after all. It is also not the first time when Mr. Gureshi asks for financial help, so maybe not everyone wants to help him. |

| I love the artwork of the manga and the dark storytelling that it gave the readers. Was very disappointed by the unpopularity and reception the anime get. I understand that this series is not for everyone, but man, I very much miss Somali to the point that I'd like the author to be successful in whatever they need to do to continue work on this dark manga! 😳 |

| We have confirmation for Somali's continuation from author She announced that she will return to work on Somali after the end of her current manga The first crowdfunding fundraiser that I linked in the first post did not bring the expected results. But thanks to the support from YouTuber Yiman, the case was publicized, the fundraiser was repeated and over 800,000 yen was collected. |
