I am studying full-time engineering, so it's pretty tough to find time to watch anime. I have played since 2020, and most of my level was earned then. Currently, I only play for like two hours a week. I also looking forward to the next Ikuhara anime because I love his work so much. Thanks for your comment. Also i've had Oniisama e on my PtW list for years now and I completely forgot when it came out, I was expecting early 80s at the latest bc it's a 70s manga but nope it really did just get an adaptation almost 20 years later lol. Is it as melodramatic as everybody says it is?

Thanks, I don't post reviews because when I'm tired I'm not always articulate (I also recently realized I've been using the term "storyboarding" as a blanket term for composition of a show that are unrelated to it, whoops). I also generally like reviews that can point out pros/cons for people with different tastes than the reviewer, but since I often write a personal comment on stuff after watching one episode I don't want to go into the effort of considering that for every show.

Glad you are liking Utena! I do like the art for that one quite a bit.

I like what I like. You can judge me all you want internally but no need to come to my profile and be condescending about it. Also, you say standard anime visual styles are "generic" and just trying to appeal to many people as possible. While I can certainly understand frustration of shows playing it too safe and not trying something interesting (I have my fair share of that with plot, setting and characters), what becomes the "generic" aesthetic or trope or whatever does not become widespread out of complete chance; it is at least partially driven by what people like, especially when it originally was experimental itself and became widespread because a lot of people like it more than what came before it (which doesn't make it "better"). Also, you generalize my opinions when my opinions aren't even necessarily consistent as I've watched more and aged. I would say right now I strongly like colorful shows without the point of being garish especially if it focuses on imagery of nature, eyes not drawn as dots, and stark use of shadows. That had a lot of overlap with the current standard anime art style, but I don't think Your Name is some ideal that should be copied explicitly or can't be matched, and if I said that in my comment for that movie then well or 6 years ago me was wrong.

But it will improve a lot afterwards.
