Minami has liked Tatsuya from the beginning as expected. Although she may have learned of a hurdle concerning their progress of their relationship.

So, let me get this straight: because Kazuya, whom Minami never loved, died, Tatsuya sees it as his duty to not get together with the woman who has always loved him?... That's pretty much as dumb as you can get when typing about reasons for main couples not to get together until the end; no matter what.

(I'm going to ignore the two occasions where, if not for something getting in the way, they would at least have kissed after Kazuya's death.)

It should be the other way around. Because of Kazuya's death, Tatsuya should have learned to value what's dear to him and not wasted any more precious time because of cowardice. Messing around the one person you truly care about isn't the best way to make the most of life.

...Anyway, the episode was a nice 'in-betweener', at least. Here's hoping for some exciting baseball matches.

Great scene between Minami and her father, I enjoy when the characters acknowledge their feelings.

That's a fantastic scene, the one between Minami and her dad. Nitta is looking as good as ever, bring on the semis! Come on Meisei!

Some romantic potential in the last 9 episodes.

So the people who harshly judged Tacchan, just because his brother was a better person than him, are now rooting for him, and using him as an excuse to get drunk for free, huh. "Nice". At least Minami's father finally brought back the romance aspect a bit, asking her about her feelings for Tacchan; and thanks to this talk we got that great scene with Minami pitching while trying to sort her feelings, reminiscing. It was pretty good, now to another game.

I agree with Fayrin. It was the same as with his classmates a few dozen episodes ago.
Once he became a good pitcher, everyone in the school suddenly started to acknowledge him. Minami told the girl that was sitting in front of her, at least indirectly, how hyprocritical she was.

Oh, and this was one of the few episodes where the coach actually had some good moment. He noticed that he would have put Tatchan in danger if he had missed that last pitch due to his eye condition and decided to drop it. But he might still be an ass and just didn't want to risk to get in trouble if anything actually happened. I wonder if we will see a change in him or if he will remain unlikable until the very end.

Really great series. I've listened to the soundtrack for 3 decades, and now finally watching the series. Wow--it's really very good!
I still don't get what's up with that coach. He has so much potential.
Tatsuya has big shoes to fill. He will always compare himself with his younger brother. But he's grown so much. He's really good guy. And Minami can see that. He doesn't complain about the coach working them too hard. He has the right attitude and makes that situation to his advantage.
Just enjoying the series and seeing how the mysteries play out.
As usual, Harada cracks me up. He's a good guy. Kind of reminds me of an Italian mafia type with a heart.

Despite the coach being a demon all the time, some rather mercifull judgement not to pitch the ball one last time to prevent Tatsuya's injury.
Well quite obvious that Minami liked Tatsuya, didn't expect her dad to know. I wonder if Tatsuya really doesn't want to marry her because of the unfinished competition against Kazuya before the latters death. I kinda expect him to wait until he surpasses Kazuya by reaching Koshien before doing anything.

I was under the impression Minami loved them both equally but that Kazuya was just the better option while he was alive, being the ace pitcher and all. Tacchan was a bit of a disappointment in the fisrt seasons and Minami just got frustrated perpetually kicking him up the bum. Now that he has started fulfilling his potential Minami is free to express her love without "spoiling" him, which, let's face it, would have meant he'dd have stayed a mediocre layabout for the rest of his life.

I totally understand why Tacchan would have second thoughts about dating Minami. For example I fancy my brother's GF but even if he died, especially if he died, it'd be a cold day in hell before I even thought about saying I'd loved her all along, the guilt would be unbearable.

It's just not cricket. Or baseball, since this is Japan.

That heart-to-heart scene with Minami and her dad was really something... and so was demon coach pitching against Tacchan.

Finally the principal and the students are going to watch the semi-finals to support the Meisei baseball team.

I agree 100% with this tho I didn't get what you meant with the last line.

Unfortunately that's just society. People would never care if you died in a ditch if you are a nobody. The moment you become somewhat relevant all sorts of people will be all over you. (yes I'm aware I sound like the Jester from the Batperson, gotta thank the dumb fanboys for muddying an otherwise good message)

Not true. We know by how she acted around Tatsuya that she was into him. ( not on the first episode but right with the 2nd or more ) .
And, THATS WHY I DON'T LIKE MINAMI. She said to his father she was into him since the beggining and didn't had the courage to say no to Katchan just because she was egoist and wanted someone to realise her dream to go to Kaishen. Even worst, she cried.

And people saying Tatsuya would have been in the shadow's brother is wrong. ( they compare to demon's coach ) .
Thanks to Harada, he began Boxing and he was very good : defeating a "futur world champion" at the very beggining of his boxing career.
So even if his brother was alive, he would have been a very decent boxer. And would have been praise by the people and provisor.

And let's be honest, a girl if she really loves you, no matter what another guy can do for her. she doesn't care. You can bring the moon to her, she will still focus on the guy she loves ( no matter how bad he is ) .
